When I first came here, I kept seeing ETA

Couldn't figure what "estimated time of arrival" had to do with these little messages at the bottom of the message. :floorlaugh:
OK, one last post about this, then back to Somer.
I did the very same thing. I think that's when I found the dictionary.
And BBM threw me, too!
Now we're all becoming multi-lingual!

How about we make a list of the FACTS we know: I'll start
1). Somer's body was discovered in landfill
You know, I was thinking the same thing the other day, and this is about as far as I got. Period. We know a lot more about her family and the dynamics of that, but really-in all actuality, what more DO we know about her death?
1) Somer's body was discovered in landfill
2) She left school at the regular time and began walking home.

Thanks for the list. At least we have somewhere to start now. (LOL, but not really as this is too sad.)

BBM: lmao (even though I shouldn't be).. can you add a second fact to the list for us human?

  • #445
VERY well stated my friend, see how both sides now works so well?

PTSD is very real and very hard to understand unless you have been there. My son in heart is in iraq now....keep him in a bubble of protection..

Thank you both for explaining that. I do understand about ptsd and the difficulties it can bring to so many people.

Sad, I will keep you and your son in a bubble of light..may i ask his initials?

Well, if it's not sex and it might not be because that she was fully clothed, then what are people's ideas of the reason?

I don't know that she was fully clothed, but that would be an indication that it wasn't sex. So I'm going with that for now.

BBM: I think I can find an article that suggests she was clothed (didn't say she was, but said she was identified by her clothing and birthmark). If I go dig it up, will you make the determination if we can list this as a fact on our list of facts? Sound like a deal?

Now doggies has added number 2.

Can we add that she talked to Kyle at Gano?

Where is the last place that she was seen? The burned house?

I am confused because I am map impaired. I can look at my property on google and I would not recognize it if someone asked me where I thought that place was. We live out in the country so it is much less of a defined view, but still it really looks different to me and sizes seem so distorted. We have several small outbuildings-potting shed, playhouse, that type of thing and they just make no sense on the google map to me.

So I am a total loser on this map business. I'm trying, but I don't get it.
I need to go down there and look at it in person. But it would involve a plane ride.

Do we know for a fact she talked to Kyle at Gano? Did Sheriff confirm this?

BBM: sounds like a deal.

Okay - here's the link about being identified by clothing & birthmark. Let me know if you think this could be classified as a fact or not....

ETA: CARP!!!!! I can't find the article now that is where the statement about identifying her body by the clothing & birthmark.

This is the quote from the article

The body was discovered in a landfill this afternoon, just over the state line in Georgia. The landfill, in Flokston, GA, is the end of the route for trucks collecting trash in Somer's hometown of Orange Park, FL. The body was found partially covered. Dectectives searched this area after following the route taken by the garbage trucks that pick up the trash in the neighborhood that Somer Thompson lived in

Partially covered? (with garbage?) Partially clothed? Makes a huge difference, doesn't it? So, I don't know if we know if she was clothed.

Honestly, with so many RSO's , how can they be cleared so quickly unless they were in court that day at that time? How can they check alibi's so quickly? Even if they were working, you would have to ask people that worked with them if they were really there, etc.

And were they all doing something that can be verified? I know sometimes I'm just sitting home reading a book by myself or what ever. That in itself is totally weird to me-clearing RSO's so quickly.

Of course, we know so little. LE says there is a child killer out there. We know that. But the only person this killer will kill is Somer? So maybe it is someone they have in jail for some other reason, such as WLK?

It does not make sense that CWG gets a pass-no problem that he didn't register but WLK sits in jail? I don't get that.

I still say, why isn't anyone talking about this case?

sadnpod -

If ST wants to call and try to verify that CWG was, in fact, in Texas on Sun, Mon, and Tues -- maybe they can help him more than CCSO is willing to --

Here's two numbers I found -
Bandera Police Department - (830) 796-3456

Bandera County Sheriff's Department - (830) 796-4323

maybe, when ST tells them who he is, they will be willing to research this and can verify where CGW was for those 3 days . . . -- worth a try, don't you think?

I have seen three different addresses for CWG in the Jax area, so he obviously was familiar with and spent time there.

  • #453
human-

not only did CWG get a free pass -- there was a warrant out on him in Jacksonville (01/23/09) -- don't know what it was for -

If he was in Texas and turned himself in to update his address -- what happened to the warrant -- the warrant is from Jacksonville, which is Duval County (not Clay County, but right next door) -- a computer check could reveal that, right? I don't get it --

(or IDGI -- HEY! I LIKE THAT ONE! Is that already taken, or can I invent it?) and IDGIE -- on a roll!

Just a thought here - if CWG is a registered SO, then his DNA is in the database, correct? So surely they have checked the DNA (providing they have DNA) against the registered SOs... wouldn't you think? But what if the DNA is someone who she would have had contact with on a normal basis? KWIM?? Like in the Nicole Simpson case - OJ's DNA would be on certain things because of his relationship to his ex..

  • #455
Oops-forgot IIRC
If I recall correctly.
PS Don't listen to Cheewawa about these...trust me.
:floorlaugh:

THANK YOU!!!:waitasec:

  • #456
You'd think - if DNA comes back and doesn't link to any SO's in the area, hope they check Texas.

and, if this was not a SO, yeah, someone she regularly came in contact with. hmmmm.

Im sorry, But i have to... I still dont get BBM.. all i can think of is something to do with a bowel movement... NOW lets MOVE on!!!!!!!heehee

  • #458
How long does DNA last on someone from regular contact? Say< shake your hand. How long does it last?

Maybe that's not a good example because a person should be washing their hands a lot. What about it I touched your leg for some weird reason?

  • #459
Obviously, the perp left DNA on Somer. So can they identify anything by age with DNA-like it's breaking down because of age or it's nice and fresh because of the age of the perp?

I mean can they tell if it's a teen or an older person like they can from bones?
