well, they were able to use the DNA on JonBenet after all those years, right? if her last contact was with this person, and it was, they have all kinds of DNA, I would think?

ST said she fought hard and that would mean under fingernails, maybe his hair (or, maybe not) --

Obviously, the perp left DNA on Somer. So can they identify anything by age with DNA-like it's breaking down because of age or it's nice and fresh because of the age of the perp?

I mean can they tell if it's a teen or an older person like they can from bones?
Why obviously? I'm not sure we ever heard anything from LE about DNA. Just labs, in general.

I think it goes beyond hair and nails. I briefly skimmed a little of JonBenet (I think that is the cutest name, but I bet no one will ever use it to name another child).

They were talking about touch DNA which I'm thinking could come from just some contact. But IDK as I didn't look very deeply into it. I read a couple books about that case and figured it wouldn't ever go anywhere.

How long does DNA last on someone from regular contact? Say< shake your hand. How long does it last?

Maybe that's not a good example because a person should be washing their hands a lot. What about it I touched your leg for some weird reason?

I didn't see that at first-pretty good . Of course, it does look like OP is the bald capitol of America.

I'm not sure we've heard anything from LE about anything -
I guess it's safe to assume we're on a "need to know basis" and we don't "need to know". KWIM? But yet they need our help..... :waitasec:

I read somewhere - maybe it was Caylee -- that hair DNA is not the best and is not 100% anyway -- so maybe everyone went bald for nothing -- but just saying . . . it does look kind of funny, though, after the sheriff said to look for someone who may have changed their appearance . . .

It makes me think -- "Here's your sign!" -- when I see them together.

Okay - I came up with a fact & doggies came up with a fact... so that makes two.
I am going to the grocery store to get my bird for Thursday. Human & what about this?, it's your turn to find a fact (LOL, LOL, LOL)... good luck. BBL (be back later).

Thanks :^)

But, now please correct this anyone. My understanding was high school 1:45
Jr High 3:45, Elementary 2:45. I don't want to incorporate any wrong info in future post. I wish we had a easy reference guide to all nailed-down facts!
Do we have any?! :)

When I was in high school....which by the way, was looonng ago (lol) - my school went from 1st grade to 12th. We had them all at one school and we all got out at the same time. I realize there is a big difference now even in a small town, but it would seem safer to me to have the little ones getting out first because there would not be high-school kids driving cars while the little ones are walking home from school.

I have thought all along that we are not looking for a SO in this case. It's just a feeling. I just have a feeling it is a juvenile and not a SO. I think since the body was not able to be identified except by the birth mark on her leg and dental records, that her face must have been really messed up. Sounds like a rage murder to me, but then again, there is nothing to go on so all of this is JMO.

ok - here's another fact -

Somer fought her attacker.

So maybe that means he didn't have a weapon ready . . .

Find a fact!

All right. I think it's a fact that she was driven to school.

See what fabulous useful facts we are finding.

Do we have the fact that she did fight her attacker or did Somer's dad just say that?

I can act all high and mighty since I added my big fact here. Don't ask me for the reference however. My eyes are crossed from looking at all of this stuff.

Good afternoon everybody!
Just caught up with the thread & am now ready to add my :twocents:

Since we're making a list of facts, the first fact I'd like to point out is how very few facts we have on this case! But that doesn't count as an actual fact, does it?

sbm

Her dad said she fought, but IDK.
The Sheriff said to look for someone with scratches on arms, face, head (I think he said head). Can we infer that means she fought back? Again, IDK.

If he DID say head - that in itself is pretty telling, don't ya think?

Looking for the video or article of the presser when Sheriff advised what to be on the look-out for, so I can verify if he said "head" or not.
I remember arms, upper body, face. Don't remember head specifically, but will try to find out before I start a bunch of speculation, since we're making a list of "facts".

Her dad said that LE told him --

Hopefully, LE was telling the truth, because if they're not giving out much info at all and if what they are isn't true -- what can you do with that?

Seriously, this asking for help but not giving ANYTHING out is really stretching the "keeping it close to the vest" thing a little far.

okay - here's another fact --

Somer routinely wandered around and no one knew where she was.

So, how come on this particular day, at 3:10 everybody got alarmed? She was only out of sight about 20 minutes at that point. IF SP was at the house, he might have . . . didn't he have to send out AT 2 times to go look (while he did what?) . . I can see AT and the other kids saying "she does this all the time" . . .

You know - it's kind of hard to imagine that little 7-year-old Somer could do that kind of damage to an adult --
