I have been wondering about NCIS involvement in this case. I know its been discussed and Noway did some research but I honestly can not believe they would be involved in a child's murder unless someway they were involved. Any thoughts?

Cath... the NCIS was helping with the Shaniya case too ... I remember reading that.. I think they help with a lot of cases... I for one just don't pay that much attention to who is helping if not in the news a lot.. jmo

Jax is a Navy town, its not uncommon for them to be involved..Mayport, NAS, and Kings Bay, not far away..........

and this happened practically on NAS doorstep...

I don't know cath... everything about this case is so strange. I honestly cannot remember a previous case with absolutely no information released.

I know this is silly but I watch the first 48, (reality Detective show) anyways the DNA does not seem to take this long. So...what kind of tests take so..long well I say toxicology , what ya think?

Going to get a cocktail and a smoke, daughter still is home so...I am smoking my brains out. I'll be right back.

DNA doesn't take this long if it's in the front of the queue. Matching it to its donor can take awhile, I guess.

Fibers can take a long time - if they're trying to track down the source.

Meant the kid is not home yet. LOL

JMO but it seems to be too...quiet, I remember the Caylee situ and there was news everyday, still is.
Is it true that there is still a LE car outside DT's? TIA

That I do not know - I do know however, they were parked in front of her house when I went by on October 31st.

I read once that a watermelon and a squid share something like 98% of the same DNA
Go figure.

Good thought Sorrell, fibers.....yes and matching DNA especially if the Perp is not in the system.

Here's a good source of info on the FBI's forensics websites. This link is about trace evidence and the various kinds that are collected and processed.

Well if the Perp does not have a past Police record I can imagine it would take even longer.

  • #739
Thanks for the link Sorrell. Lots of goodies to go through.

If trace evidence was found on her that wasn't normally in her daily environment, it would have to be matched with its source to connect the crime with the murderer.

If trace evidence was found on her from home/other family members/daily environment, I would imagine it would be even more difficult & take longer to determine its possible involvement in the crime. Does that make sense?
