Good Night to all you Night Owls.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Do you think by not publicly clearing the family/friends, the Sheriff is playing with the creep's head? Making him wondering just how close LE is to catching him?

I see by your posts that you have been on WS for a pretty long time, probably. Does LE ever put out fake info?

Why do you think that they don't clear the family?

And sorry for the O/T ... My avatar is making me hungry so I'm going to get a snack and head to bed. Good night everyone.

Your avatar is making me hungry, too. LOL Hey, it's only midnight, where is everybody going? Just kiddin'. I know it may be later where most of you are.

Another missing child?!

(bolded by me)
So, if two out of three fathers pay child support for five kids, somer would have had a better chance of after school supervision? Do you know if they paid child support and if so, do you know which father and for what child(ren)? Yes, I know it cost money. IIRC it was available in her school. Instead of quitting her job, she had the option of quitting cigarettes or a number of other choices, it was only for two hours a day. Poor, pitiful me is not a defense in this IMO!!

I know plenty of truly single mothers who would love to make $14 an hour, and have a car and a house...

I would have loved to have had those things as a single mom and even as a married one. I don't really call her a single mom though, because she did have a live-in boyfriend. He should have been paying rent or some of the bills. Do you know if DT ever had to live alone with the kids before PC moved in? The years before all the kids were in school would have been the really tough time for daycare.

I have been reading and catching up with the posts.
1. Somer going to the house and saying good job ..
she has walked by this house every day and may have talked to them before
she may have been stalling to go home
She may have seen the gate open and ran in thing it a good place to hide and saw
the workers/worker and made a fast excuse
2. I am open to the idea that DT didn't do it but everyone that defends her and says she didn't and gives no reason why .. just some other dude did it. It is bias to say a person just didn't do it cause she is a mom. We can't go attacking every male because we have personal bad experiences
I dont believe she left work at 4 and arrived in OP at 5:05 and that it took her 1hr and 5 in get home and that she did drive home from jax to to have lunch in OP with SP
If you are going to defend someone show the time line, traffic report or some explanation of how it couldnt be her.

I don't understand why most everyone is trashing this mom, If those MS pics are the main reason I have seen much worse pics. This was an ADULT party and they were having a good time. Don't be so judgemental about every little thing. I think we need to focus on a murderer of a small innocent child and IMO its not her mother. She cried, she didn;t cry, her hair was fixed, she likes to party, she has to many boyfriens, she thought her exs aunt smelled funny come on people this is just not productive in finding who murdered Somer.....

I have to chime in (although I'm not caught up with the comments in the thread) & respond to several comments I have read in this thread & in previous ones regarding the process of a pedophile grooming the victim.

We've all heard (and possibly experienced in our own lives) how pedophiles groom their victims before assaulting them sexually. I'm truly glad there is so much public awareness about this. The more aware people are, the more we can take action to recognize & prevent child grooming & molestation.

We have no idea if the victim was sexually assaulted. Le has not released info on a sexual assault one way or the other, but it's natural to speculate in a case like this. It's the first thing that comes into a person's mind.

But I believe there is misinformation in the public regarding grooming behavior and sexual offenders, based on what I have read here and heard elsewhere.

Statistically, sexual predators who murder children DO NOT groom their victims.

Please understand this. Predators who murder children (or an adult, for that matter) are not seeking sexual gratification, per se. They receive their gratification through killing. Although the sexual act may play a role, it's not the vehicle of gratification for a predator who kills.

Predators who murder don't expend the time & energy grooming a victim, in terms of how we have come to understand the grooming process. They target their victims opportunistically and move in for the kill.

They are a different breed of sexual offender.

I hope this info helps, in terms of understanding the difference.

Thank you all for caring so much!

It sounds horrible to say, but I don't think a stranger would have to spend time grooming Somer if her outgoingness was as it's been reported. If a predator could catch her alone and start a conversation then she could be quickly grabbed or snatched into a waiting vehicle. Heck, a conversation wouldn't even be needed with a tiny girl all alone. They could just grab her. Unless, someone in the neighborhood was getting her alone during the times the babysitter said she wandered off up to an hour, but didn't know where Somer went. Once a person like this attacked her, they might murder because she knew them and would tell. That just doesn't sound very likely to me though.

Well if it was a sex offense that's so nice of DT lawyers to say on TV that LE is watching them and they should turn there self in and let the community heal. I am sure they will run right down and do that

  • #272
I'm also open to the idea that DT did not commit this crime. I truly don't want it to be her or any family members/friend of the family/ BF, etc. I would much rather it be a total stranger. I would sleep much better at night believing that children can trust their mothers and other family members to keep them safe from harm.

I'm wide open to listen to any alternate scenarios regarding specific RSOs, carnival workers, whoever was at that same location at that same time on that same day - and was witnessed there or admitted to being there.

If DT didn't do it, then one of the workers at the Gano house did it when one of the other ones wasn't looking, or after the others left, or all the workers at the house did it together and are conspiring to keep it a secret.

DT and the Gano house workers are placed in the vicinity at the time of her disappearance and murder - not by speculation, but by fact.

This is what I am personally interested in fleshing out - who can be placed there not by imagination or speculation, but by fact.

It seems to me there is a very short list from which to draw.

O/T (Sort of) I seem to remember that a few states have chickadees as their state bird. Just a thought. Sometimes things are not a process of elimination, but rather an also scenario. KWIM?

Perhaps there is something else to which we are not privy that is causing DT to act in the way she is acting. Just a thought.

Only one other, Massachusetts. Or however Tara spells it. LOL!

Sorry, but I don't think discussing which state I was in was off topic. I looked at it as more of an exercise...yeah!...that's it!..an exercise in sleuthing. I was trying to see if you all were good sleuthers. There were only 2 clues/facts needed to get the correct answer. The first clue/fact was me stating that Canada was in my backyard. (Others were discussing where in Canada they lived) The 2nd clue/fact was as I stated, "You don't have to leave this page for the answer." But, nobody knew what it was even though it was staring them in the face. The clue/fact was my Chickadee avatar. I personally learned a lot from this exercise. I learned that sometimes the facts are staring us right in the face. I been racking my brain ever since wondering if there is a clue/fact sticking out like a sore thumb that we are missing when it comes to Somers murder. Ya know that old saying, sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees.

I know I did go off topic talking about smoking. And if my punishment for doing that is a time out, well, okay, if I must, I'll go to the garage.

O/T
Looking around for an avatar, I found this. LOL ... for anyone living in Maine!

ICONATOR_ef8bfa372c1e32b03c30af8d7c1b4df9.jpg

Crazy state law #8: In Maine you will be fined for having your Christmas decorations up after January 14.

Haha Noway!!!

Now you know I just might have to steal that avatar to use!! And that law should be changed to January 1st!! LOL!

But at this point, we do not know that Somer was supposed to killed. Until we know that, determinations are hard to make. If her neck was snapped, or her lungs compressed, or her face pushed too hard into a hand or pillow... she may have gone through the grooming process, as she was never expected to die. If that makes any sense, the coffee has just barely hit my bloodstream.

It makes perfect sense.....

Gross, I know, but sometimes we tend to forget that the body was compacted. Determining the cause of death under these circumstances isn't easy. Maybe that's why info hasn't been public.

Hmmm... interesting post.
I must have missed where someone thinks DT's lifestyle made DT kill Somer.... personally I don't think DT killed Somer-- she was too darn busy with her druggie pals, and boyfriends...

I hate to hone in on people's opinions, because after all that's what they are... OPINIONS.

But, my opinion is that the Thompson family has gone through enough to have self-righteous people paint them in the worst light and to judge them and misconstrue them after suffering one of the biggest loses of all... a child.

Nobody's past is spotless.

Not everyone in our families is the picture of perfection.

We have all made mistakes and have weaknesses.

I know that until we get real news of suspects and motives, we can discuss theories and "sleuth" people. But, sheesh!

I think that a HUNCH or ill-thinking does not mean MOTIVE, and character faults should not be "evidence".

compacted maybe, but we know she was mechanically moved from trash bin/dumpster to gtruck, mechanically moved to transfer station, and then mechanically moved to semi trailer, then mechanically moved to dumpsite in folkston.....

yes, she was crushed, tossed, and mixed with garage, over and over again, til she ended in folkston.. we have no idea how much damage was done to her little body after death...at least I hope it was all after death..

(Bolded by me) Agreed.. but a persons character can be tied to motive..
