Someone mentioned that the house next door to Somer's had a new roof put on -- first time I heard that, but there would have been roofers for Somer to talk to ---

was it RO'C's house that got the new roof?

IIRC, there was a sign for a roofing company on a yard very close to Somer's house which lead people to believe there had been roofers working in her neighborhood. This might have lead to her feeling comfortable talking to the other "workers"...(as desribed by "kyle")

The visual of the sign might have even been from google streetview.

I'm sure someone else will recall more info & better than me.

There was a sign and we sleuthed the company one night. Couldn't post a lot about it since we were in the middle of changing posting rules.

Ms Suzanne, you bring up some very interesting points. I too have wondered about the altercation Somer had with a classmate. I feel this could very well have something to do with the demise of Somer. No on purpose, but maybe things went too far & the intent was not to kill her, but to scare her. In regards to the rumor of Somer being shot in the head, it is just that - a rumor. I know someone who worked at one of the fundraisers & this individual told me that was a comment made on more than one occasion at the event... that's why it is a rumor - not a fact. The lady who said check the trash is suspect as well. Either that woman saw something suspicious or is psychic.
Thank you for answering me.Who was the lady who said to check the dumpster. What do we know about her?

Another neighbor says he did search the area of 286 Gano before Somer was found - he regularly walks the neighborhood and says he's never seen anyone at the house but construction people

(O/T- I just got a new computer, and now I can watch all the videos and the voices match the mouths now, and I can hop, skip, and jump through threads -- it's so much easier! Yay!!)

Edited- hope I did it right . . .

compacted maybe, but we know she was mechanically moved from trash bin/dumpster to gtruck, mechanically moved to transfer station, and then mechanically moved to semi trailer, then mechanically moved to dumpsite in folkston.....

yes, she was crushed, tossed, and mixed with garage, over and over again, til she ended in folkston.. we have no idea how much damage was done to her little body after death...at least I hope it was all after death..

But Sad - Remember when you told us that ST wanted to see Somer's body and the funeral home person asked him to please not do that -- I think IIRC that you asked them later privately if that was because of being in the trash compacter, and they said no, that she wasn't crushed --?

Sorry if I remember it wrong, but I was so hoping that wasn't the case, that that didn't happen to her little body . . .

Did you mean 1080 Gano? That's the renovation house, right? Is 286 Gano the roofing house?

I thought I remembered CCSO calling Gano a crime scene as was the entire search area. I'll go dig for that video. Until then, don't quote me and consider it another hallucination.

ETA
Investigators left the abandoned house around 1 a.m. Friday, but it remained a crime scene with 24-hour police protection.

Three police officers are on each end of the house and crime scene tape still keeps everyone away. Gano Avenue, a major roadway through this neighborhood, is still blocked off, with a FDLE unit parked in the street.

MY question: Do they put crime scene tape around areas they do not feel are crime scenes?

Hey everybody. I followed this case closely at first and have not been here in a while due to lack of information and following other cases.

I have a question.
I looked over the last couple of days of posts and I see that several times it was mentioned that money DT spent on booze and drugs would have paid for a sitter for after school.
Has it been confirmed that DT had a drug or alcohol problem at the time of Somer's abduction?
TIA

I actually work at home and was forced to upgrade -- it's like a whole new world has opened up! Whodda thunk? I need a seat belt for my chair!! Next, maybe an MP3 player . . . uh oh, another acronym I don't know what means.

For those following Luis Martinez, his body has likely been recovered from a septic tank near his house.
Sorry for O/T and cross posting.

OMG - that's so horrible! No one was watching him either?

Was someone asking earlier about the crossing guards?

1st and 2nd crossing guard aren't sure if they saw somer

3rd crossing guard at gano and debarry says for sure she did not see somer cross that intersection that afternoon.

(around 50 secs in)

Thank you! I knew I'd heard this before.

The first one (did not specify male or female) was at Miller and Gano; the next one (male) at Gano and Grove Park, the last one (female) at DeBarry and Gano is positive she did not see Somer. (None of the crossing guards spoke on camera; this was confirmed by their supervisor, an OP police officer.)

I'm guessing Somer wasn't the only kid who stopped and hugged the crossing guards otherwise it might stick in their minds that they hadn't been hugged that day.

I see the same kind of behavior with the school aides here that help with the kids getting on the bus and those that get kids to the parents' cars parked across the street. There are at least 4 or 5 huggers; some hanging on these ladies constantly making it harder for them to do their jobs.

I threw that stuff into the post in case the video disappears. There was information I wanted to keep.
