Sorry to quote a post from so long ago that none of us might remember the context in which it was posted. But it is relevant, and it is unsettling.

Noway - I agree with you - DT doesn't strike me as clever enough, either, if cleverness is a trait that is required in this crime.

But someone else might think they are clever enough. Someone else at that same location, at that same time, on that same day.

Someone who was named in the MPR as being in the area.

Just so everyone knows - I'm NOT referring to a minor who was also in that vicinity.

I'm referring to only 1 other individual who can be placed at that location at that same time/day, per the MPR.

And, no, I'm not referring to SP, either.

I don't even want to post this. But every other idea, half-baked lead, piece of info, speculation, has led nowhere.

Who would be capable of fooling LE? Who would have the required knowledge in order to mislead the investigation?

What could be more horrible (or at least as horrible) as a parent (or other family member) murdering their own child, so much so that LE hasn't come forward with updates in terms of viable suspects? LE has more or less cleared all RSOs in a 5 mile radius.

Why the silence?

As I said, I don't even want to post this or suggest this. But who is trusted as much as if not more than mothers/fathers/family members, in the minds of the community?

And if that trust were broken...

Although my mind hasn't changed on who I think did it, I think the possibility you said before of staging. LE was searching the pond, woods etc. The house was not until after she was found. If the person knew she had stopped at the house first they may have wanted them to think the crime happened there.

I haven't formed a theory that I feel comfortable with.
And while there is still a chance that this is a serial, I don't believe it. I, too, feel that John Walsh doesn't always see things for what they are. His personal experience is so horrible that it clouds his judgement at times, I feel.
I think that it would be a good thing if he would stick to what law enforcement has said, instead of making public, high profile suppositions. MOO

I'm with you on all of that NMK.

Cam-Is there any chance you could go to the OPAA bathroom and see if it's a false ceiling? LE seemed to spend very little timein there and came out with something.

It appears OPAA was the command HQ for a couple of days, so it seems pretty hard to believe that someone put something in there after the crime.

But they could have in the chaos of the first night of searching. If it doesn't have a false ceiling, we'll have to think of other ideas.

If you can't, oh well.

He should ask the sheriff or lead investigator first and the childrens counselor

That's his daughter -- he needs and should have an advocate. An advocate could be a liaison between ST, LE, and anyone else involved that HE wants to talk to --

What about guardian ad liteum (sp?) - for deceased child on behalf of a parent? - know what I mean? A very unthreatening person who could ask questions for a surviving parent?

Just thinking -

I just want to say that when I asked the question if she new them it was based on previous posts written with term " I know" and that is not sleuthing someone.

I wanna add that I am also not sleuthing anyone on this board, but I have reasons to believe someone is sleuthing me... and I really dont know why... I am right here.. out in the open

I know what I just posted probably didn't make sense - I go by feelings and emotions most of the time - but I believe that Somer wants her dad to know her. Maybe someone could help? Maybe Infinity?

Ok. So what other ideas of why they are digging at Gano? Not with shovels, but with digging equipment.

What kind of soil do you have there? I picture sandy, easy to dig. But maybe not.

If they were looking for former victims, would they have brought in digging equipment?

Seems too big for what I would consider delicate work.

Is there a Victim's Advocacy group in Florida? Maybe he could ask them.

I think because they are in the middle of an investigation, it probably would not be a good time. Maybe an Advocacy group would set up a meeting.

RUMOR!!!! My most unreliable source (LH) claims that an old friend of ST's came by today (visiting from out of state) and has inside information that she wanted to pass to ST. St was unavailable at the time. LH claims this person told her that Somer was not sexually assaulted. ST has tried to call this person to see what was really said. This info from LH has really upset him and he wants to know how this person could have this info.. SO DO I. I will pass on what he finds if I can.. depending on who it is and where it came from... just FYI, and remember this is a RUMOR only!!!

If the water was on, tracing the pipes?
Is there any possibility of there being a well back there?
MAybe other victims, but I doubt it.
Maybe they ran a small GPR unit over it and saw something very large and unexplainable that they needed to dig up?

I have been confused on this from day one.

ETA: Has there been any explanation at all from LE? Any way of accessing dig permits from that point in time?

Any resemblance to a bald eagle? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I dont think they brought in the dogs to smell around but they did say to put the garbage back in the dumpster and lift the heavy items
