I wasn't aware that Somer had walked home from school with anyone other than her siblings. Were the siblings present when the spat between the two girls happened , or did she later meet up with them?

Yes, indeed. This was news to me, too. Now I am wondering if this is just someone else trying to get their name and unfortunately another child's name in the papers or what. My understanding was that the original fight had taken place at school. Now we are told by someone that she was walking first(?) with a little friend and got into a spat, ran off, then caught up(?) with siblings and got into another one when confronted by AT, and at one time reported to have hit ST with the tote bag and run off again......

I can't tell anymore what happened. Some of it sounds like confabulations of the same incident after school. But, we don't know. Also, it reinforced the notion that S regularly went 'somewhere' after school. Which circles back around to the questions as to why this day being late raised an alarm over the other times.

This case is exhausting, I've tried really hard to stick with & scour through what little facts we have.

IT really seems SOMETHING triggered the panic alarm this day....Monday....so I wonder if something had occured lately during the childrens walk home from school - something fresh in DT's mind for her to have that feeling that this time it's different.

So once again I've been reviewing the info we do have access to at our fingertips...at least florida records and such offer us LOTS of info not like other places like Texas and the Carolina's for example.

Anyways, our (trusty?? LOL) Daily Occurance Bulletin for the Friday prior to Somer's disappearce shows what could be an eye-brow raising arrest at 2300 Kingsley Avenue - is that the PARK??????....Sadly, no time of arrest is given - but I wonder if it might be something for consideration. I'll just put it out here and let you all think on it.

S,VA (W M, 43) Arrest on chrg of County Ordinance - Sec 3-1(b) Consume Alcoholic Beverage On ( ), at 2300 Kingsley Av, Orange Park, FL, on 10/16/2009.

Maybe he was just a guy sitting alone, drinking in the park. (!?!?) ETA: ACCEPT THIS PARK GUY lives in GA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well his address on the court docs is GA!!!!

Regardless, no stone unturned right gang?????

It would definitely explain why they recommended DT to not look at the body. Personally I was given enough detail to think it is the truth, but it's based on something a relative said to a friend of the person I was talking to. The conversation took place the weekend after the body was found. I just happened to mention that rumor was saying Somer had been shot and I was given a incredulous look and was told the above. I didn't post everything as quoted nor did I post everything I was told. The police have a good reason in keeping all the info to themselves. It took me a few days to even decide to post this because of that. I only did because it was info that came a few people down the grapevine.

You should have returned the incredulous look. Since no COD has been released, there is no more basis to that speculation than to the other one you mentioned. That's how rumors get started, you know.

Somer caught up with her siblings on Gano. The 1100 block I think. This made me think she started walking with MC.

Some else must have seen her for them to be searching the wooded area on the first night.

IIRC, Infinity thought she had looked up the Mc name previously (it was recently found on the OPAA team) but she could not remember why she looked up that Mc name.

Initially she was said to have been seen at DeBarry and Gano so the wooded areas near there were searched?

I'm not sure who it was who said that but later thought it must have been her siblings (consider hallucination because I don't remember what thought process got me there).

Just to clarify, I did not mean you. I mean whoever was starting the rumor about the "shot in the head", could be the some of the same ones saying "strangulation". But, I was glad that you and the other poster who reported overhearing it at a fundraiser, let's us know what kind of talk is going on out there and by whom.

ETA: Sadnpod has talked to detective about this man and they know who he is. He has taken a polygraph because his behavior raised red flags with LE. Discussed earlier in this thread.

OMG I am horrified. How does this happen to someone?
What makes a child do this to another child, his own brother.
I sit here just stupified and sick over the whole horrific event.

ETA: where is the disconnect? When and why did this kid's switch get disconnected from all of humanity? He said he's had these feelings since eighth grade. What could happen to someone for this to happen, for them to disconnect and become this?
Sorry if my ignorance is showing here. Don't know a lot about mental health and I am sincerely curious about this. Anyone who can shed some light TIA.
