Hi Sad - I was so busy looking up the answer to your question about cold cases, that I didn't see your Hello to me.

Take a look @ that link in my above post - lots of useful info. I'm going to keep reading. Never too old to learn a thing or two!

Thx for that link Cane.

I've been quiet about the fund raising & have supported it up to a certain extent, because I believe the kids need & deserve to be provided for.

Nervertheless, I'm taking the gloves off at this point & will say what is becoming obvious, to me at least.

It would seem that fund raising is turning into an occupation. IMO, it gives the appearance that she's capitalizing on her daughter's murder. It's beginning to resemble a post-mortem insurance policy.

She says she's doing it "To bring justice for Somer." How can judging a car show "Bring justice for Somer"?!

I remember many threads ago someone asked me that if DT was indeed a narcissist, what might she do in order to continue to remain in the limelight?

I think we're witnessing the answer to that question.

I don't see where it helps bring justice to Somer at all.

Beseler said he believes Somer was abducted and murdered on the way home from Grove Park Elementary School. He indicated there were no suspects and warned area residents to be on guard.

"There is a child killer on the loose," Beseler said at a 7:15 a.m. news conference. "I fear for our community until we bring this person in."

I wonder whether something has changed to make him not fear for the community. Because he is keeping facts from the community. Are they not in danger anymore?

WAS Somer targeted specifically because she was Somer Thompson and not because she was a little girl who wandered from her siblings?

I am especially enjoying reading this page:

http://www.enotes.com/forensic-science/physical-evidence

There is info about "Locard's Exchange Principle":

"Locard's Exchange Principle dictates that evidence, both physical and biological, is to be found at the scene of a crime because the perpetrator always leaves something behind by having contact with victims and objects there. Similarly, he or she will often take something away with them, which can be found on a search of their person, their garment, a vehicle, or their premises. Such evidence is often found in minute quantities and known as trace evidence."

The killer might be trying to convince him/herself @ this point that since there hasn't been an arrest or any POI announced by LE yet, that he/she has gotten away with it.

But there is always that wonderful thing known as "trace evidence". Plus, there is no statute of limitations for homicide.

Forensic science - ya gotta love it!

That is what I wonder too, because of the change or stance from the early statements and it makes me believe they have someone in mind. So "are they not in danger anymore?" Hmmm...that opens up a lot, maybe they have someone in custody now on a different charge, maybe it is someone close to the family they are watching, someone they feel is not likely to re-offend, there are probably a few other scenarios but regardless for some reason, they have seemed to have backed down on a predator on the loose.

I don't know if there was ever a reason given for the patrol car being at DTs house for so long after the murder. I believe some poster on here said it was to watch PC because people were threatening him? and that he was not a nice person. Does anyone remember that, and was it just a rumor?

I live in the area, and end up driving past 2-3 times a week. I have never seen LE outside of the home since the funeral. I think some others on here have reported seeing them there though. I'm sure they are still at the house at least some, to ask more questions, give updates, etc, but them being there for PC is a rumor, IMO.

Why is it that if I read for awhile, when I start to post something, I am logged out and have to log in again. Anyone else have that trouble? Is there a time limit on being logged in or something. I have been posting, and if the post isn't very short, it logs me out before I even finish posting...then I see these long posts and I wonder how you stay logged in long enough to post them. Am I doing something wrong...? I know I do not type that slow.

ETA: A little frustrated tonight, so I am going to bed. Hope for news tomorrow.

I have the same problem, as well. I chalk it up to my wi-fi connection & the satellite moving.

I always copy my post before I submit it, just in case I've lost my connection whilst typing & have to log back on. Try that & see if it works for you.

ETA: Also, if there's heavy traffic on the forum, it could overload/slow the server down, and cause some to lose the connection.

We also know for a fact someone gave Kyles name to a reporter. The people most likely to have his name were the police.

Now why would they do that.

IIRC - A reporter out of Orlando was the one who contacted "Kyle", according to past threads. I remember reading that this Kyle person e-mailed (or called?) the reporter in Orlando and the reporter contacted him after that. If I'm mistaken, someone please correct me.

I remember we were all mystified that Kyle would have contacted a reporter in Orlando, and not in Orange Park, or at the very least Jacksonville - someplace closer than Orlando, at any rate.

I've always been skeptical of this "Kyle". I don't know that it has ever been verified that he even exists. I don't recall reading anything in the media where LE refers to him or mentions his name at all.

Does anyone else?

I am copying my post now before I submit it...

I am a newby- not to reading but to posting. So glad you posted this. I had this problem and just thought I was incompetent. I wrote all my thoughts abt this case, which turned out to be lengthy and... poof. Didn't have the umph to start all over. I am so glad for people who truly care abt justice in this case.

BBM

I get sick of florida getting a bad wrap.. I mean really, as far as all the RSO's, I think that one reason is that FL does at least try to keep up with them. At least from sleuthing them, FL seems to have a better handle on it than say.. umm texas (no offense chee). Also, just by virtue of the weather, the way kids are out playing for most of the year, the way people here dress and the beaches.. all outdoor play that means pedophiles in general have an easier access to watch little kids, and more time during the year to do so. We only have a few months that are cold and snow birds still have kids out then. So I dont think its "florida"... again I think its the opportunity it presents to this scum... just because it is "the SUNSHINE state".

Well Gee SAD, I am not knocking our state. I do think that with the warm weather, etc., we do have a lot of transients here, SO's, ones who move from place to place, etc., a lot of murders have been here lately. It's true, it's the opportunity, not the state.

Going back to the very first thing DT said on the first tv press conference. She said. Somer you aren't in trouble just come home. Why would she say that to a 7 year old???? It just doesn't make sense. Your child is missing and you say that.

Then when they found Somer in the landfill she said. It's not okay to throw her in the garbage. This is the last thing that any parent would say if their child was killed. DT is a very strange woman and there is definitely some involvement. She know who did it.

It may turn out they don't have the evidence to arrest but they know who did it. The clues are all there. Someone very very close to the family. Guaranteed.

When she said, "somer you're not in trouble", I thought: In trouble with whom? Also she said to the perp: just bring her back, you can drop her off anywhere, we won't tell...and I'm thinking, drop this kid off? Hasn't she been through enough...I am trying to cut her slack for being emotional and blabbering but OMYGOD, drop her off...? I know, I know people will say she meant "drop her at police" whatever. She says some bizarre things. ACtually I had just tuned in having never watched a crime show before. I was like, "who is this woman and what the H _ _ _?"

The "it's NOT okay to drop MY BABY in the trash..." was like it was a personal insult to her, more than Somer. Just me, probably. Those tomatoes, o-k.

BBM Do you have a pic or video of this? I would really like to see it if so.. help? TIA.

I wish we knew some of the answers to your questions, but IMO, most are unavailable... I do know, however, that since this case, and watching ST as he did early interviews, I do not trust the media one iota to report "FACTS".. I use to think they had to get close to the truth anyway. Media is not what is use to be.. integrity and honest reporting. Its all about the entertainment value now.... and the entertainment value of somers case has worn off... Thank God and LE she was found...every day I am thankful for this.. as I am sure everyone is... I cant imagine the heartache for those who dont know and may never know where their child is..

WS is the one who has provided so many videos, also Jax4; it was one of the videos (Molly Hatchet or something) where she is up on the stage wearing Harley type clothes she had on a fake face tatoo, one of the fund raisers where kids were getting info and etc. There is a little boy I want to say is little ST standing next to her, looks like he is lost as all get out. Perhaps he was not clinging but leaning against her? I felt sorry for him, being put up there, he didn't look comfortable at all, she sang You Are My Sunshine. This was what raised the ? was she into Harleys and that crowd before, maybe with CPC?

Reporters as far as I know quote others or maybe they assumed from the MPR. But if you go back to about thread 2 or 3 on here, people are referring to SP as boyfriend, living there. Later everyone is saying both men are living there. Yes I know you all can't provide information. I am just commenting on the general lifestyle, wondering about those relationships and what influence they may have had on the outcome.
