I find this case so bizarre, no updates, no media coverage at all. This obviously means something. I now believe there must be a "Hush" order that has been sent to all media outlets regarding this case. I also find it extremely hard to believe that a Pastor would advise a Father of a murdered child not to attend a reception. IMO this is weird.

CAth, you reminded me of something I forgot. When I first got on here today, I went to an older WeshTv interview news article. It was earlier on in the case. The site said Contact________regarding this article.

I sent this reporter an e-mail, asking why there had been no media coverage. I told her that there was a snippet on Jax4. I wondered how the family is doing....why DT is not giving interviews....how is the community holding up...has CPC been able to quit his job....are there more programs and parent involvement in safety issues...has the hate mail stopped to DT...does she still require police protection...can LE reveal if they have any persons of interest without identifying them....etc., etc. I also asked her why there are no news briefs reminding residents that the killer is still at large.

I asked her to please respond to my e-mail, thanking her in advance. I don't understand why media has shut off all coverage, either.

It is not like NG or JVM to not give updates on a crime such as this regardless of the Cheetah (Tiger). Perhaps they know more and feel or have been told not to give this case any coverage at this time. I think it will not be a case of a monster who kills/rapes children however it puzzles me re: Fundraisers that they were ie Rockers against predators, how do they know this is the case?

My opinion of why DT is not really giving interveiws anymore is this...There is not really any news, she has said what she knows, and she is picked apart everytime her mouth opens or her eyes move. Again, that's just my opinion.

I agree with you.

And, I also find it weird that a pastor would do such a thing.

We need to remember that this info came from a poster. I have no reason to doubt Sadnpod and I beleive her heart is here for Somer. I appreciate her insight and personal knowledge of the case. But, IMO her info is like any other poster's as far as fact/rumor. All posts no matter who they come from, IMO should be taken with a grain or two of salt.

I don't know how all of her extensive photo coverage could be taken with a grain of salt. She also describes how she is dressed at the funeral and refers to being photographed pushing a wheelchair, so that would indicate she was there. I can think of no plausible reason she would have to make up such specific information, about which she has never contradicted herself, but only clarified for the various skeptics who ask for FACTS ONLY.

EVERYTHING IN THIS CASE IS SUBJECTIVE. The only objectivity is the cold truth that the child was murdered and is now buried. Every aspect and person should be subject to scrutiny. I find it counterproductive to scrutinize, be wary of, or take with a grain of salt the honest efforts of people who are trying to uncover the truth, and, in the absence of hard evidence, are doing what real detectives do every day: watching.

Chickenpants I hope you will get a response. I too emailed a reporter (jax.com) a few weeks back with no info to share however I think this Guy is just like us , trying to sleuth something/anything! Where the heck is Ryan Hughes @ jaxnews4you. He initially covered this case. We perhaps should think about a mass email campaign to get these reporters going whether they have news or not. JMO

Sad, When ST first met DT how many Children did she have?

Hounds... thanks that put a smile on my face.. The pastor approached us at the burial after the foot stomping and the mr tight jeans removal and asked st if he planned on attending the reception. He said yes, this is for his daughter, and the pastor said, he thought it would be better, under the circumstances if we didnt attend, that he would be glad to pay for our lunch at sonnys. ST said that DT had just gotten saved and would he please help her in her journey with Christ. He said of course he would and offered again to give us money for lunch. I told him we were capable of feeding ourselves, that we didnt need his money. He said he was sorry for the problems.. by now I wasnt really paying attention to him. Everyone else was gone but us.. and st was having a hard time leaving the gravesite. LE then came and talked to st and told him that they were going to find who did this and that they were not on dts side or his side in this, that they work for somer. The lead detective promised to call st as soon as they solved this. Then they asked him to leave so the workers could finish the burial and we did. We went to zaxbys and I started calling attorneys.

OK, this is going to sound judgmental, so let me first say this is my opinion only. When you get saved, you don't have that kind of hate and spitefulness in your heart anymore. It is not what you wear, what you eat, etc. that matters. It's what is in your heart! The bible says, "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh."

Excellent points cathdawg

It reminds me of the old Sherlock Holmes deal about the "dog that did not bark"....cause it "knew" the intruder

Maybe Nancy Grace et al are not "barking" cause they know more than we do?? I agree....what people wore, what Pastors said, divorce info etc does little to figure out what happened here

I think we might all be in for a surprise....so much talk of "predators" , so much looking at the many RSO's...and then?? what??

WHY would anyone kill a little girl...ruling out sexual perversion/coverup of that...

WHO would kill a little girl...

and ...in this case....Why and WHO would kill this particular little girl, Somer at this particular time?????????????

1st BBM: That is your opinion of her faith, of which only DT and God know. You don't know she has a long way to go. Again, to me, that is offensive.

2nd BBM: I have said it time and time again, while Sadnpod has given a lot of personal insight, her posts are her opinion of things. That does not make everything she says FACT. I take her posts like any others, with a grain of salt. I value her posts and find her to be a kind and caring soul. But, they are her opinions and IMO are not written in stone facts. JMO MOO and all that jazz.

We're all about semantics again. DT has a long way to go. There is private faith and there is how faith is displayed. Faith is not displayed in vindictiveness. In her very first interview (before Somer was found), she was asked if ST would be coming to Florida. She laughed and said, "well he won't be staying with me!"

MPO she would probably be farther along in her faith journey without some of the more obvious distractions of people and activities that lead her off the path. The Christian faith and 🤬🤬🤬🤬 are traditionally not compatible. I can't find any poster here who has defended the actions of CPC in this tragedy, except to say that at the time of the murder he was at work, and that has not been proven.

It is obvious by statements and factual photos that DT leans both figurativly and literally on him. If he is on a Christian Journey, that's his business, too.

Thank you. My opinions from my perception... NO facts and NONE implied.

I don't get this. What you saw, you saw. What you heard, you heard. You were there. You heard the pastor tell ST it wasn't a good idea to go. You heard LE kindly lead ST from the gravesite.

To me, these are facts. They happened. What grain of salt should I be swallowing? You have always made it clear when you were talking about your FEELINGS and your OPINIONS. There is a big difference. Or did you just "feel" that you were there, (lol). I am tired of this whole conversation. I'm going now, and probably a lot of people will be glad. I am exhausted trying to explain myself to people who just want to pick apart posts instead of picking apart the behaviors of the people involved.

I never mentioned CPC.

What you say is semantics I say is my opinion.

In my Christian Faith, I know not to look at someone and judge their faith. IMO it's wrong. LIke I have made clear several times...it's my opinion.

I feel the same way. It's very rare that one of my posts are not quoted and "picked apart" and told I'm wrong or not useing common sense.

I would be interested in knowing how LE in that area handled other cases..

as for the video...why not just tell us what it said?? or what you think it said (regarding why the info is not made public)

I personally am coming to the same conclusion..there was no sexual assault...this was a case of rage...or kids....or a coverup of an accident...many possibilities

If you don't want to watch the video, don't watch it. I sat through it and other long videos. I don't want to go back and watch it again for you. The reasons the anchor gave have been said by other posters here. It's just that as a police reporter, she has authority to make statements that are commonplace in these crimes.

What I saw or heard .. I did see and hear, chickP. But how I tell it is my perception of what happened. That is a fact. Do I try to be truthful? Yes, of course. I promise.. its a fact I was there... I didnt just feel it.. (lol)

In my life's experiences, I have NEVER seen a pastor prepare his remarks accordingly as to not offend a non beleiver. Just saying.

I have seen it all of the time.
I just attended Christmas Mass. On Easter and Christmas, people who don't always go to church attend. The lector and the priest always make it a point to explain that everyone should come forward at communion time and receive a blessing whether they are able to receive communion or not. This is to make people welcome and comfortable, especially those who have been brought by family members who are practicing Catholics.

It is standard at funerals for clergy to prepare remarks in anticipation of people who are not regular churchgoers. In today's climate, political correctedness has even come into the church. Ecumenism and openess are the standard. I never thought it was inappropriate to celebrate Somer's life. But from what I read, the Pastor was not very pastor-like. In all aspects. And I will maintain my opinion, and you will have yours.
