JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police said Friday night they're searching for a missing child on the Westside.

The child was last seen in an area near Everest Drive off of Collins Road.

That's sad.I pray she is ok and comes home and nothing bad happened to this little girl.She's a pretty little girl.I hope she is ok.Did anyone start a thread for this little girl?

This is the new information...
Police said the girl got into an argument with her mother, and her mother disciplined her.

Officers said the girl then left her home on her own and has been missing since 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Police said they weren't called until 6:30 p.m.

Why are people waiting for hours to let LE know,especially around where Somer was taken?

Hopefully, if anyone knows the WHY, WHEN, WHERE, and HOW about this murder, I hope they are in talking with LE!

The murderous slug may have lived around the area and lured Somer into his yard/house with a puppy or kitty. All that is pure speculation right now, isn't it? The most I can do is a profile of what the predator may have been like...and that is speculation also.

The child predator behind bars lost the woman he was living with and attended her wake and funeral. All that is known about predators tells us he had substantial reason to find a victim...he could have been spurred into action by the loss of the woman he was living with and also that he was kicked out of the home he lived in for so long - a home right in that neighborhood. I can't give any more thoughts on the perp until we receive more info. MHO

Surely they (LE) have SOME DNA found on Somer's body by now, I would think. Don't you think they have WLK's DNA since he is still sitting right there in jail? If any of the DNA they might have back matched him, we would have an arrest for murder, not just violation of probation. IMO

Any DCF reports have to be taken with a grain of salt until you know who initiated them and why. So many times reports are made by ex's or enemies.

From someone who read the report. That's all I can say. I will not name the source of a rumor even If Hoppy says it's OK to post it.

Exactly, just what does it have to do with this case or the circumstances of the day Somer went missing. I have had friends also who have had Childrens Aid (thats what it is called here in Canada) on them from other people that are just being spiteful, a stupid childish game.

Since I have not gotten an answer from a mod yet, and might not, I will not take the chance of posting the rumor. I will say that I knew about it before this story broke, but my jaw dropped at what I believe to be "spin" put on it by a sympathetic reporter. It was similar to the one I knew about beforehand, but not exactly. So, end of discussion about the rumor.

Key word here "he reported." I'll bet it took him a long time to get his story just right so that it would not offend anyone- reporters do that. It looks very bad on the newspaper if they are not careful with their words, plus it might hurt some innocent person. IMO something happened that was VERY wrong, but the supervisor never checked it and he was the one who found no wrong doing. JMO

Ok.It was just a report that was found unfounded from a year before with no more incidences for a year?It just didn't have anything to do with Somer now.I just don't understand why it keeps coming up.It doesn't make her look bad at all to me.Well,Let's just pray they will have new information on any DNA evidence if it is back yet.I really hope they find something to catch somers killer.
