There have been a lot of reporter errors on this case like most cases.
You know, in high profile cases, it's more important to them if they get the story out first. Less important to them is accuracy.

for some reason now that this pops back up I thought I remember hearing that too or something similar? seems like reports should be proof read and confirmed before its allowed out the door, I would think that in a case such as this that police review it before its allowed out the window? if thats the case how in the heck did that fly??

I am thinking it was true that Vinson's had done work on Somers house and that was in a article. This might explain how the reporter knew to call Kyle, DT might have told the reporter Kyles name when she found out they were working on the Gano house.

  • #863
That might explain the alleged familiarity with Kyle.

  • #864
I'm thinking the same thing.

The Vinson Design company is suing the reporter for false reporting. That's what I'm getting from this. And you know what. They in my opinion have a case.

But if she wasn't sexually molested, does it matter that a company who had hired an RSO did work on the Thompson home?

Was it roofing? I wish I had a rewindable brain with video capability.

The reporters vilified the company without adequate proof. I bet this company lost lots of business due to this.

But we don't know if she was molested or not.

But didn't they report that LE had searched their property and seized and searched a vehicle and trailer? LE did do that IIRC so how were they wrong in reporting it?

Do you remember how the reports kept coming in? They were outdated etc and we even thought that an arrest was imminent on GV.

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I feel no remorse for this guy and his frivolous lawsuit -- OT: We need some Tort reform and PRONTO in this country!

a) a little girl went missing and the last known place she was seen - Gano St home - His business was contracted there --

b) he is the person responsible for hiring a RSO - who happens to be his brother - you reap what you sow, he hired him --- Ask the victim of this RSO if he should be protected by law and excused from registering as a RSO? - Just in case one day a little girl goes missing off the street in front of a home that may have been worked on by the RSO/Not confirmed -- and so that it doesn't make his brothers business loose money

c) I won't state here what else I find to be "sketchy" -- as it involved minors.

d) the reporters did their job - their trucks were seized by LE - they had every right to report this and speculate - I don't recall them saying "THESE GUYS DID IT" -- That would be slander and libelous

e) IIRC, JV had no problem giving interviews from what IIRC watching stating his connection to the incident -- nor did AB have a problem making a statement to the press

f) I believe if anyone would be libel here - it would be CCSO if they are in fact able to clear these people AT THIS POINT and have not done so publicly---- Are these V's trying to get a quick out of court cash settlement??

g) It was stated by AB - that the workers would find beer cans etc.. Signs that teens were partying in the home -- this ACTUALLY opens up JV company to a liability lawsuit along with the homeowners - depending on the circumstances -- if in fact they were the hired contractor on the home and failed to secure it properly if all exteriors are in place -- IF it is found that Somer was murdered in the Gano home or a crime was committed by unauthorized entrants -- whhewww Sally, you wanna talk lawsuit!! There are many ways it would have to be decided and by what happened, if something DID in fact happen at this home. --I can explain more later if clarification is needed --

I wonder if he is suing his sister too because the article from Oct. 23 has quotes from her in it.
So, she must have talked to the reporter and gave them info for the article.

Oh well, I'm really not concerned with the lawsuit as much as I am the info about Somer's home.

I would also like to state:

If this was about "false reporting" and it holds water -- the attorney could have requested a GIANT retraction -- and maybe a small cash settlement IF that.-- --- If it holds water -- I am sure a retraction would have been offered but it doesn't look like one was that we can see, yet.

it's all about the money-- by the looks of his website he could prob use the money - profiting off a little girls murder - PUKE

If Somer remembered Kyle from working on her house, then saw him working on the Gano house, I can see her walking up to him telling him he was doing a good job.

That statement never really made sense to me before, but if she "knew" him, I can see it happening

Exactly! They all flapped their gums.

All that and a bag of chips -- she would also feel most comfy to come into the house and hang out --

Not that she knew a stranger anyway -- not saying that snide either -- several people have said it including her grandmother and mother.

I don't think they "vilified" them - they reported the facts. CCSO seized cars and trailers belonging to these people -- CCSO searched MANY innocent neighbors homes -- They also searched ALL the RSO homes as well -- I have not heard ONE of these people crying foul -- They must have had a reason to seize their trucks and trailer at the time -- Maybe it is routine like everything else -- but the lawsuit against the network is frivolous IMO - if they are INNOCENT they should ask CCSO to CLEAR them in the name of good faith for their cooperation.

It is possible that they CANT be cleared yet -- I know on other cases that DNA and sampling has taken way over a year -- due to the several tests that come back inconclusive and others need to be run ---

[ame="http://www.crimeseekers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3630"]Somer Thompson: Sex Offender Worked on Renovation at Gano House - Crimeseekers[/ame]

I am testing this link to see if it shows up and is okay for WS

Yay - it linked so it must be legal:)

Snipped:
The Vinsons' sister Alissa Barrs, who lives at the same address in Mandarin as George Vinson, said her brothers have been questioned by police. She said on Friday afternoon that George Vinson, 33, worked at the Gano home about two months ago, but then found other work.

James Vinson and his business partner were interrogated for hours by detectives on Thursday, she said, and George Vinson was being questioned Friday.

Police searched their Mandarin home Thursday and seized a truck and trailer from their property, she said.

First Coast News made two attempts to reach James Vinson. During one phone call, he said, "I don't want to talk about it" and hung up."

Funny, there is no business partner listed on his business through official records - interesting that the two were the first to be interogated and the RSO 2nd -- Hink -- The thing is though -- by Thursday they already were going through the Gano home, NO? MAKES YA WONDER what they found there to decide to seize this stuff - one day after Somer was found -- it isn't like they "picked" on them while she was missing -- JMO

That statement has always bothered me! I just could not wrap my head around a 7 year old walking up to "stranger" construction workers and saying they were doing a good job.

I remember very well all the comments about Somer not meating a stranger. DT, her grandmaw, the crossing guard.

But my opinion has been this, I find it hard to believe, even with a child who "never met a stranger" would go up to Kyle and make that statement.

I've always found that very odd. It's like a lightbulb moment now to think she actually knew him.

(btw-my computer is still broke so im trying my best to post on this darn phone so excuse the typos)

In the lawsuit they accuse the reporter of not reporting on any other companies that furnished services to Somer Thompson home.

I think that pretty much says they did work on her house.
