  • A Purple Alert was issued in Florida for a missing 60-year-old woman from Tallahassee.
  • Florida's Purple Alert system helps find missing adults with specific mental or cognitive disabilities.
  • To qualify for a Purple Alert, the person must be in immediate danger and not eligible for a Silver Alert.

Tallahassee Police Department confirmed Tuesday morning that no foul play is suspected.

A Purple Alert is a statewide notification used to help locate missing adults who suffer from mental, cognitive, intellectual, or developmental disabilities and whose disappearance poses a credible threat of harm. Unlike a Silver Alert — which is reserved for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia — a Purple Alert applies to adults whose impairments are not dementia‑related

The Purple Alert is no longer active. I can't find any updates that say she was located.

If it had to do with a medical condition or the family asked LE to not make the information public, then we won't know.

I hope she is safe and receiving whatever services and care she needs.
