Stephanie Lynn Shenefield 38, has been reported missing after she was last seen in the 5300 block of 16th Street E, Bradenton, on Friday, June 3, 2022. She was supposed to go to a show in Ybor on Friday night with a friend but never answered her phone and did not made it to the show. Stephanie is 5’04” and around 150 lbs. Her phone goes straight to voicemail. She is not currently driving and would have been getting an Uber/Lyft somewhere. According to loved ones, she has a medical behavior condition which she recently demonstrated that left family and friends concerned. They say it is not like her to leave and not be in contact with anyone.

According to reports, Hospitals, institutions, jails have been contacted inquiring about her OR a Jane Doe. She did a no call/no show to her job at Papa Joe’s yesterday and that is something she NEVER does. Police have begun a serious investigation – phone records, phone pinging, Google pinging, surveillance is being pulled from multiple locations.

If you have ANY information about her whereabouts or believe you have seen her since Friday please contact Detective Burgess with the MCSO at 941-747-3011, case # 2022-012256.

There are a lot of businesses in this area. Perhaps she was seen on camera. Right at the end of 16th St E there is a bus stop. Since she didn't drive, she could have hopped on the bus.

Shenefield is a mother of two boys ages 16 and 14. Timothy Parker, Stephanie’s roommate, says everybody knows she’s a hard worker who has been working at least three jobs. Parker says she may have driven off with someone and there are also concerns because she has issues with her blood pressure.

“The last time I had seen her, I had seen her at the table here at home,” said Parker. “We were just talking, conversing after work, everything was normal.”

“It’s just getting longer and longer, it’s just hard, we’re keeping our faith,” said Jennifer Massrock, a friend of Stephanie’s.

Massrock had plans to go to a concert with Stephanie that night

“I tried to call her at 1pm, nobody knows what happened between 8:30am and 1pm, and nobody could get hold of her after that,” said Massrock.

Friends have increased the reward money that’s being offered to $16,000.

UPDATE: Sadly, the body of Stephanie Shenefield was discovered last night in a ditch in Palmetto. Detectives are now conducting a death investigation and the cause of death is unknown at this time.
Sheriff Wells will provide additional updates during an 11 a.m. press conference at MCSO's Operations Center.

A sad outcome. RIP Stephanie.

P.s. I alerted the mods already.

Sadly, the man who's house she went to, he murdered her. He's a career criminal and drug dealer.

I didn’t hear anything in the press conference about murder, only that she died in his residence and he moved her body. Did Stephanie have any issues with drugs? Could she have accidentally OD’d and he panicked and moved her body? Hopefully we will learn more after her autopsy is completed and the medical examiner can determine the cause of death.

I say murder in that he never got her any help. Even if it was a drug overdose, he could have called 911. Maybe she could have been saved.

#UPDATE: Here’s what we know about the Stephanie Shenefield case from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office:
William Redden, 51, (left) has been charged with Abuse of a Corpse, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of an Altered Firearm (serial numbers removed).
Sheriff Rick Wells says records show Shenefield went to Redden’s house early Friday morning in an Uber. When investigators went to Redden’s home he turned over surveillance video willingly because he didn’t realize the video inside had been recorded, according to MSCO.
That video inside his Palmetto home, according to MSCO, shows Redden dragging Shenefield’s body wrapped in a bed sheet and loading it into his car. Her death is not seen on camera.
On Thursday night, Shenefield’s body was found by people passing by. She had been dumped into a 12 foot ditch near a field and railroad tracks. Her body had been “badly decomposed” so it took some time to identify her.
A cause of death hasn’t been determined, but the sheriff says more charges are likely coming in this case.

There are no charges if someone reports an overdose, but if that person is afraid of other criminal activities that might be discovered when first responders get there, they may not make the report. The sad thing is, in Florida they would not be charged. Here is the current law (text in bold by me, for clarity)
Fla. Stat. § 893.21
...
(3) A person who experiences, or has a good faith belief that he or she is experiencing, an alcohol-related or a drug-related overdose and receives medical assistance, or a person acting in good faith who seeks medical assistance for an individual experiencing, or believed to be experiencing, an alcohol-related or a drug-related overdose, may not be penalized for a violation of a condition of pretrial release, probation, or parole if the evidence for such violation was obtained as a result of the person’s seeking medical assistance.

Sheriff Rick Wells said Shenefield's roommate helped investigators track her last known whereabouts after being able to get into her computer. They accessed her Uber account and saw that her latest activity was a ride to the home of 51-year-old William Redden at 1:20 a.m. on Friday, June 3.

In the article above, it suggests that law enforcement was able to verify that Stephanie took an Uber to Redden’s house at approximately 1:20 AM. This makes me wonder what happened prior to this Uber ride.

It was reported that she was meant to meet a friend at a concert, and I would presume that the concert started at 8 PM or latest 9 PM. Where was Stephanie earlier in the evening when she was supposed to be at the concert? How did this all begin?

She was going to the concert the next day. She may of went from work to his house. She was a bartender.

The autopsy came back showing no signs of trauma. Waiting on toxicology report. It was most likely an OD.
