I do agree that the idea that he'd just ended up in the area is odd. If he wasn't native to the area, maybe he was looking for a long-lost family member or friend said to have been living there and ended up dying somehow in the process.

Speaking of dying, I know I've said it before, the lack of a cause of death or manner of death for SCJD is disconcerting and I feel like it limits how much we are able to say about him, his life, and what may have happened to him.

I agree! There’s just so much we don’t know about him. I feel like he should have been identified a long time ago and not some quick piece in the local newspaper because it doesn’t help.

I wonder if death in the area was viewed differently then...like I wonder if local law enforcement didn’t want to make huge news about it because of the population and perhaps avoiding negative talk about crime in the area then.

RULEOUT UPDATE: Ronald Janes of Jefferson County, Kentucky has been added to the ruleouts, making him the tenth listed person ruled out in this case. The update occurred on May 30th, 2019.

Also, it appears the main profile photo has been shifted to the thinner looking rendering of the John Doe. I'm guessing this is what he looked like in all actuality since Redgrave Research asked to do a fresh reconstruction. Perhaps Det. Lee's fresh eyes helped with this.

Here's hoping for more movement in this case. There is still a lot of 2019 to go!

Not officially, but it looks like the hair may not match. The John Doe has darker hair whereas Owen had strawberry blonde hair.

I was just informed today that this John Doe has been identified as an Orlando man. The results from the Medical Examiner’s Office JUST landed on my contact’s desk this morning. I’ll have more information soon! In the meantime, bear with me!
