Found Deceased FL - Tammy Alexander, 16, Brooksville, 8 Nov 1979

Some families like to believe their loved one found a place in the world away from them while others believe the more likely reality.
Tammy’s family always stated they thought she’d started a new family somewhere out there, away from them.

It was for the first report. The frequent run aways is also the most likely reason they wouldn’t take a report seriously.
If it was submitted for the alleged first missing persons report. Wouldn't the police for her remains have made a positive identity based on the DNA the family submitted? I mean, when Tammy first went missing before she was identified via a sketch.

Also, I swore Pamela said they never submitted a missing persons report.

That is what I'm thinking, but her report should have been kept for a few years after she turned 18.

I thought that was her sister. I was referring to her mother and the obituary.

I know, that's what makes no sense. Didn't Tammy leave a letter when she left? I mean, if Pamela assumed she was alive, why not the rest of her family? We have no confirmation that the family was the one who said Tammy was dead in the obituary. (I think?)

I just find the whole thing odd is all.

The letter was to her best friend.

Did the friend know Tammy's family? Maybe she showed them the letter? I know I would have.
Probably not. But their names are mentioned in the letters.

Wow there’s are incredibly hard to read. Especially reading about her favourite songs. How do you have these, I hope you don’t mind me asking? Are you who she was writing too?

Poor beautiful girl. She’s in the kingdom of heaven now.

The photos were on the podcast’s website, but the website now redirects to Democratandchronicle.com. I had to go through the wayback machine to find them.
I believe these letters were written to her best friend

Ah okay that makes sense. Poor girl she didnt deserve what happened to her. She seemed so keen to go home to see her bf and friend, I wonder why she didn’t. I wasn’t born until the 90s so I have zero experiences of the 70’s but things are so different now. I’m not talking about the obvious like technology etc but attitudes around things. I can’t imagine a 16 year old girl now hitching lifts and spending the nights in diners with stranger truck drivers. I don’t expect an answer because I imagine no one other than Tammy knew but why didn’t she just go home or to her bf. Poor girl.

I don’t mean to blab but cases like this bring me more and more to religion and Christ. I struggle and outright refuse that after that moment in the corn field when she was shot, that, that was the last of her existence and anything after that is eternal unconsciousness. I have had my own experiences with afterlife that nobody can refute it exists. Which I am fortunate for and for that I am in the comfort of knowing she is well now in the presence of loved ones who have also passed. God bless you girl.

Her friend moved away to New Mexico, I think over the summer. She met her bf at a McDonald’s when staying in a condo in st Petersburg FL likely July/August

The last page of Tammy’s final letter to her friend.
What I find interesting is that LA is written on the back. Might mean nothing but it could hint at Los Angeles.

Wasn’t her friend called Laurel? Could be her initials.
