Some families like to believe their loved one found a place in the world away from them while others believe the more likely reality.
Tammy’s family always stated they thought she’d started a new family somewhere out there, away from them.

It was for the first report. The frequent run aways is also the most likely reason they wouldn’t take a report seriously.
If it was submitted for the alleged first missing persons report. Wouldn't the police for her remains have made a positive identity based on the DNA the family submitted? I mean, when Tammy first went missing before she was identified via a sketch.

Also, I swore Pamela said they never submitted a missing persons report.

That is what I'm thinking, but her report should have been kept for a few years after she turned 18.

I thought that was her sister. I was referring to her mother and the obituary.

I know, that's what makes no sense. Didn't Tammy leave a letter when she left? I mean, if Pamela assumed she was alive, why not the rest of her family? We have no confirmation that the family was the one who said Tammy was dead in the obituary. (I think?)

I just find the whole thing odd is all.

The letter was to her best friend.

Did the friend know Tammy's family? Maybe she showed them the letter? I know I would have.
Probably not. But their names are mentioned in the letters.

Wow there’s are incredibly hard to read. Especially reading about her favourite songs. How do you have these, I hope you don’t mind me asking? Are you who she was writing too?

Poor beautiful girl. She’s in the kingdom of heaven now.

The photos were on the podcast’s website, but the website now redirects to Democratandchronicle.com. I had to go through the wayback machine to find them.
I believe these letters were written to her best friend

Ah okay that makes sense. Poor girl she didnt deserve what happened to her. She seemed so keen to go home to see her bf and friend, I wonder why she didn’t. I wasn’t born until the 90s so I have zero experiences of the 70’s but things are so different now. I’m not talking about the obvious like technology etc but attitudes around things. I can’t imagine a 16 year old girl now hitching lifts and spending the nights in diners with stranger truck drivers. I don’t expect an answer because I imagine no one other than Tammy knew but why didn’t she just go home or to her bf. Poor girl.

I don’t mean to blab but cases like this bring me more and more to religion and Christ. I struggle and outright refuse that after that moment in the corn field when she was shot, that, that was the last of her existence and anything after that is eternal unconsciousness. I have had my own experiences with afterlife that nobody can refute it exists. Which I am fortunate for and for that I am in the comfort of knowing she is well now in the presence of loved ones who have also passed. God bless you girl.

Her friend moved away to New Mexico, I think over the summer. She met her bf at a McDonald’s when staying in a condo in st Petersburg FL likely July/August

The last page of Tammy’s final letter to her friend.
What I find interesting is that LA is written on the back. Might mean nothing but it could hint at Los Angeles.

Wasn’t her friend called Laurel? Could be her initials.

Hey man. I came here from Yt channel Brew and after some research about the murder case, I have a different theory. IMO, the guy was mentally unstable. You see, as things played out, tammy wasnt even afraid when she was pointed by a gun, at least thats what report suggests. Things happened quickly and the guy also didnt act coldly after that, he shot her again and dragged her deep into the field and took some identifications from her, but also, didnt take everything as he left a neckless or something like that . He didnt quite plan how to commit the crime as investigators suggested that Tammy went to the cornfield with him willingly and wasnt afraid. It shows that things took a turn quickly and the murderer, enraged or something shot her and then panicked and left. If he was planning to murder her beforehand, he wouldve worked a plan out. it suggests that the murderer maybe had mental stress and anxiety issue and probably thats why he had a gun with him. Now, the reason i am emphasizing on this fact is because tammy went to Rainbow Prison MInistries which was a faith based program for former inmates ,located in the remote mountaneous region of Georgia . The fact is that, she probably met her killer there. As I mentioned before, the killer might have had mental issues and probably thats why he went to the faith based program and was charmed by Tammy which mightve been mutual but took a tragic turn. I think we should look into the number of male residents in that rehab center and try to check which one of em went to psychiatrists or had criminal history . But , i think the guy didnt have a criminal background. The way he just committed the crime and ran away after that doesnt show any plan or clinical activity of a criminal . Rather, it suggests sudden impulse and panic .Theres a high chance the guy was prescribed to go there by a psychiatrist . This would make things easier since there wasnt a large number of psychiatrists then. Therefore, the number of male residents in the rainbow prison ministries and their identifications should be checked ,especially if any of them had mental issues and went there despite not being a criminal. Hope it

I came here from there too. I believe he says "She got shot at the edge and got dragged into the cornfield" which to me makes me think she got out maybe to use the bathroom and before she could bend over she got shot and dragged farther in. Just a theory tho
