I wish we had some real information. For instance...

Have there been any sightings of Taylor (verified or otherwise) since 9/8? If so, when, where and under what circumstances?

Has anyone heard a single peep out of or about Taylor since the last of these questionable text messages?

Was there an Uber or not? If not, how did Taylor leave without a vehicle? If there was an Uber, where the heck did it go?

I know! Feels like we are stuck at this point.

Respectfully snipped for space:

8 Sept 2017 – Taylor allegedly seen with backpacks containing $30,000 in cash and $30,000 in cashier’s checks. She got the money and checks out of a friend’s safe deposit box at Wells Fargo Bank. The friend who took her to the bank is the same one who lent her the moving truck. (AbuDrake posts #47, #55, #113, 283, #285, #331, #372 Thread 1)

Even if this money sounds like a small amount to you, please consider this from Taylor’s perspective. This is all that remains from a very solid financial portfolio...we had a net worth of over $500k in our early 30s. This is all she has left of the nest egg that she’d guarded and grown over the years...very much like a D&D storyline dragon, come to think of it, in that the hoarding of treasure is a hobby and an obsession...the end goal is to amass and guard the stuff, not to spend it.

So losing what remains -or any part of it- is a tremendous emotional blow to her. She went from scoffing at my initial offer of $3500 a month and $200k in assets (plus a share of my military retirement), to getting $75k in cash and having to pay ME $700 a month. Can you imagine how that must feel? It all came crashing down around her. Don’t focus on the amounts - having to pay me a dime is a tremendous blow to her. The act of writing a check for any amount -even once- would be devastating.

AbuDrake, thank you for all of your input.
Frankly, what you have written above scares the heck out of me.
If the accounts by 'horse friend' are to be believed, that means that once Taylor got the money from horse friends SD box, she then what... plopped a backpack full of cash somewhere and went to ride a horse? Was comfortable carrying that amount of cash while riding in an Uber? Took it into a bar with her?

These actions do not mesh with a woman who is guarding her money like a dragon guards gold.

Can you imagine a situation where she would be so flippant with that amount of cash?

AbuDrake's comments to Gardener's timeline have been most revealing on many counts.

With regard to clarifying the horse riding comment, it is quite important as Fleurde was told TW had gone for a ride and that was part of the delay in coming home.

Taylor grew up riding horses on her adopted mother’s farm located about 3 hours from Pensacola and TW’s adoptive mother still has a horse that TW rides on visits. (Fleurde post #778, Thread1).
Inaccurate but not relevant. She rode horses in horse shows while living in NY, before moving to FL at age 11. In the time I’ve known her, she’s ridden exactly once. Never rode at Nancy’s farm.

I agree it is relevant as it goes to whether TW would do that or not. For balance, here is fleurde's info about TW's past horse riding:
TW does not ride often, but she grew up riding, she does know how to ride. Her mother has a horse on her property about 3 hours away, last time we went, TW rode.

So fleude did tell us saw her ride at her adoptive mother's farm once. They are probably both correct. Of note is that neither tell us a history of seeing her ride frequently as an adult or using horseback riding as a means of stress reduction.

While we are on the subject, can anyone weigh in on whether horseback riding calms them down when stressed? I grew up going to a summer camp where I rode but I haven't been on a horse since I was a teen. I was just a kid, but I recall that if I was stressed or upset the horses always sensed it. It's not something I would personally choose to do as an adult blow off steam. It sounds like something from a bad novel to me. But that's just me. Anyone here use horseback riding as a means of calming themselves when stressed out?

im a horse trainer. I was asking about the weather a few pages back because had it been hot or rainy, it would be rather unpleasant. I had a facility in south Florida at one point and in September at 3pm, it's hot! Unpleasant for horse and rider. It does take a significant amount of time to get the horse ready to ride, ride it, and properly put it away. For some, it is a stress relief to spend time with a horse. Just you and the horse. Did she ride alone? Riding with nobody around is a no no.

Thanks mst! I don't know if Taylor was supposed to be off riding alone or not. Looking back at the timeline-- fleurde got a call sometime after 3:30 PM saying TW was out riding. The next call after that the friend said TW left from the friend's home (not the farm) at around 5 PM. Not knowing the distance between the farm and the friend's house it's hard to know how much time it would take for TW to travel from farm to home. I studied some distances of known pensacola horse farms from TW's home street on the map and most are a 20 minute or longer drive. Let's assume the farm was somewhat close by and travel time was around 30 minutes. Assuming TW finished riding the horse soon after that 3:30 phone call, would an hour be enough time to properly cool the horse down and put the horse away? If she had just left to go riding at 3:30 I'm not sure there is enough time for her to ride and then get to the friends house to leave in an Uber at 5 PM. I suppose it is possible someone else at the farm got the horse ready and put the horse away for Taylor. Also, I can't imagine going for a ride on a hot day and not wanting to go home and get a shower or change clothes after that. I wonder why she went to the friend's house after the riding when she could not have spent too much time there before leaving at 5 PM? If she was already in her friend's car close to 5 PM (and keep in mind friend lives abt 2 miles from TW's home) why didn't Taylor ask to get dropped off at home?

These are very good points. I hadn't considered how tight the timeline is for this period, for her to be able to do all those things. I can't help but wonder if billiards friend is involved in some way, maybe covering for her voluntary disappearance at the very least.

I know her ex and his family feel she has disappeared voluntarily and can handle herself, but I think about all the unidentified out there and worry she could've been involved in an accident of some kind and not have her id on her, to say nothing of the trouble that having that amount of cash could invite.

This is why having a map would be helpful-- to study the timeline of events presented and figure out if it's even possible. But unless Fleurde or AbuDrake want to give us the general location of the farm (street) and the friend's street name we are not allowed to sleuth those without MSM. I was also thinking that between 3:30 and 5 PM on a Friday could be higher traffic times. Kids are getting out of school and many working adults leave earlier on Fridays if they can. I'm not familiar with Pensacola, however. Any locals want to weigh in on the traffic patterns in the area between 3:30 and 5 PM on a typical Friday?

I have a technical question: If you try to PM someone and it says they are not accepting messages, does that mean from everyone, or can some people message them and some can't?

Could be either, depending on their settings. If you are trying to message me, sorry but PM's mess with my viewing of WS so I had to disable them for all except admins (I think this is due to my ancient laptop and nothing to do with WS's site but I'm not very tech saavy).

Wasn't you, but in general. Thanks for answering though! I have issues with my PM's too and it takes me 3 or 4 steps to get into my PM's when a popup alerts. There must be a better way, lol, I'll have to play around with it.

Traffic in Pensacola is generally not a big deal. The house (Berkley) is off 2 busy roads, but going a couple miles takes a few minutes. I wish we knew where the farm is located. I would guess North at least 20-25 minutes. The timeline is getting tighter and tighter. Wish we could do a map. Nothing in the local news about Taylor.

I would want a shower for sure. Also, where is back pack with cash at this time of riding. Also, was she wearing shorts when she left the house in the AM? You never want to ride in shorts.

I’m from Pensacola and but live in Dallas-Ft Worth now. I’ve ridden horses in Escambia County in the summer/early fall many times over the years (friend’s place, no billiards connection). With the humidity, horse sweat, my sweat, flies...I am not going to any bar for a drink with no shower..no way. Half the flies followed me!

If my best friend was at my house and for whatever reason didn't want to talk to her husband. I could see myself making up excuses for her when he texted or called me. That is a believable scenario. However, if I did that and then the police came looking for her, I wouldn't continue to cover for her. Lying to the police is a crime and my friend could be in danger. So in my mind, there are only three options here.

1. All of these things happened just as the friend said.

If this happened then she either met with foul play, had some kind of accident, harmed herself or ran off to start a new life after leaving the friend's house.

The problem with the running away theory is that Ubers can be traced. Was Taylor lying about the Uber? If so, how did she travel? Did she rent a car and drive off into the night? How did she get to the car rental place? Did she hop on a plane and take off to who knows where? How did she get to the airport? Someone somewhere should have seen something. Sorry about that tongue twister.

2. The friend was lying to fleurde, but told the police the truth.

If this is what happened, why wouldn't the police tell Taylor's family that the friend lied to cover for her? Wouldn't they need to explain to the family what really happened?

3. The friend lied to fleurde and to the police.

The only way I'd lie to the cops in this situation would be to cover my own fanny.

Am I missing something here?

Yes, yes, yessss! I agree 100% with all of this! The last week or so, when I try to think of possible scenarios, there is one that specifically sticks out. I know I can’t be the only one. No matter which way the facts are laid out, the arrow consistently points in a particular direction. JMO.

This friend is married, correct? In a relationship of her own, presumably not after Taylor for more than friendship? I don't see why she would lie or harm Taylor. Is there any reason to think she would concoct a bizarre plot to get her money?

1. She could be staying with a friend somewhere. Believe it or not, there are plenty of people who would allow her to stay with them esp. if she told them a story about why she was in hiding. Not saying that's what's going on but she wouldn't necessarily need to rent a car or fly somewhere to disappear- lots of people have disappeared voluntarily without doing either.

2. I don't know that the police would necessarily tell TW's family this. They might tell them, but if there's an ongoing investigation, they probably wouldn't share much.

This may not have anything to do with the friend's story. Anything that happened to Taylor or that was done by Taylor could have happened after she left the friend's house.

On the other hand, if the friend is not being completely truthful, it may be for some other reason we don't understand. It might not have anything to do with the money and wouldn't necessarily mean that she harmed Taylor.
