FL - Tracey Nix, two of her grandchildren died in her care in separate incidents (7mo in hot car Nov '22 & 16mo drowned Dec '21)

I have kids,I could NEVER imagine letting my or my spouse's parents look after my other child if due to their negligence, accident or not one of my children died under their care, that's crazy. Then it happened again!

Grandma looking nefarious to me.

MOO

The FL Attorney's Office declined to bring charges in the first grandchild's death... wow!

According to The Daily Mail, police attempted to pursue charges against Nix for Ezra’s death, but the State Attorney’s Office declined to bring charges.

According to DM article:

Police had attempted to file charges against Nix at the time, but the Florida Attorney's Office 'stated that a one-time lapse of judgment would not establish culpable negligence of the caretaker.'

I'm interested to find out whether any medical assessment was done on TN after these deaths of her grandchildren under her watch. I guess we'll be hearing from her medical providers, or at least learn about her medical history, and experts will be called.

Is it normal in America to drive to your backyard? Is the property enormous or something?
No, we don’t usually drive to our backyards. :) As I recall, it’s larger than the average suburban lot, big enough to have a pond. Not enormous, but possibly laid out in such a way that it made sense to drive to the pond.

I am struggling with how a person gets two opportunities at this. I am struggling with the fact it could happen a second time, period... You would think you would be on your toes and wanting to prove yourself..

It somehow happens a second time... well you would not go to court, you would accept whatever comes your way.. Let's face it.. would your life not be over at that point? It would for most people but Tracey Nix would appear to be anything but most people.

The fact that she's fighting it and continues to live her life as normal means she doesn't give a damn..I don't see how the husband could even look at her . How anyone could really.
I agree. I wouldn’t have been around for a second try….I couldn’t live with myself.
I have been watching my grandchildren for years. The oldest is now 12 years old. I am on medication that has side effects but I know when not to take them. If grandma was fine to drive and go to lunch with friends, she had to be fine when she parked her car and left that sweet baby in it.

Tracey Nix will enter the program in St. Cloud Friday morning. Every day of the week at the same exact time, the Hardee County Courts will contact the facility to make sure Tracey has not left.

And ...

Thursday's hearing focused on whether extend her 30-day stay an additional 10 days after the Blackberry Center wrote a letter to the court asking for more time.

The state had no objection as long as Nix continued daily check-ins with the court. Nix joined the hearing remotely, sitting next to her therapist from the Blackberry Center.

I'm very confused with the circumstances of finding the poor girl in the car.

In one instance it says that.."when one of Tracey's grandsons arrived, the complaint affidavit said that "all of a sudden," it "came across her head" that Uriel had been in the SUV all afternoon. Her husband, Nun Ney Nix, immediately began CPR."

In another instance it's said that.."According to reports, around 4:30 p.m. Nix got back into her Lexus – the stricken infant still in the back seat – and drove to speak to her husband on another part of the property.
While speaking to her husband, Nix reportedly told investigators “it came across her head” that she forgot the infant in the car all afternoon.
“The defendant said she opened the back door, and her husband ‘panicked’ and got the victim out of the vehicle and immediately started CPR,” according to the report."

IMO, these are two totally different circumstances and in both, admittedly, TN doesn't look good but in the second she is literally driving around with her poor granddaughter still strapped in the backseat. No mention of the grandson from the first instance either.

Around the 34 minute mark during the defense’s opening statement, he mentioned that Tracey Nix was regularly watching Urie, and had watched her 3-4 times the previous week? Previously it’s been said this was Tracey Nix’s first time watching the baby by herself?

Very misleading statement, IMO!!

The other possibility is that: information previously presented in articles and interviews was inaccurate, which is eye opening also , IMO.

I also thought it was odd that Tracey’s friends who were with her at lunch said she looked through little Uriel’s diaper bag for food or formula and apparently couldn’t find anything? And ended up giving her water in a straw instead?

This whole case is odd and giving strange vibes after the first day of testimony. Very tragic and sad. All IMO.

Responding to myself again— it was confirmed today by Ney Nix (TH husband) that Tracey had been watching little Uriel 2-5 days / week prior to this date. Previously Mr. Nix had always been the one to pick up the baby at A1 Safari Glass but Tracey was the one watching the baby….

( not that it probably makes a big difference, just interesting to note)
