WOW  14 years old with more RAGE than I have seen coming out of ADULTS in most cases! 114 times........POOR TRISTYN The right decisions are being made in this case, I absolutely believe that. AF deserves to be tried as an adult, no doubt! MOO

I can agree with everything; however, I've seen nothing that indicates a rage killing.

He wanted to do this. I think it's likely her throat was slashed. He premeditated an assault that was methodical and heinous. I rather doubt it was because he was angry. Furthermore, it was performed without remorse.

Did he have deepseated issues with females, in general? If so, why? :(

Personally I'll be shocked if rape wasn't involved. moo

Unbelievable. I'm nauseous. I didn't want it to be true. A 14 year old stabbed a classmate 114 times. I had such a bad dream ridden, fitful night even hours after watching that news conference.

114 times. I just keep saying it over and over because it doesn't make sense. We have a hard time with one time. 114 times? I can't wrap my head around it. He shouldn't ever be released. He would most definitely do this again.

I believe the authorities have taken the Bailey family's wishes to heart and aren't releasing some of the details surrounding Tristyn's death. At the news conference they did mention AF's DNA was found on Tristyn. I can't believe I am even putting these thoughts into words but...could she have been pregnant? Just speculating on motive here. I can't imagine why a 14 year old boy do this. My mind is reeling.

No. He told his friends he wanted to do this to a random person. But he chose a 13-year-old girl to minimize the risk to himself. He's a psychopath who enjoys others' pain; there could be no other motive for 114 times. I agree emotionally he must be an empty shell. I think people like this tend to be born this way, but violent media makes the behaviors even worse, in how it abnormally alters their brains even more.
I bet behaviorally he was very difficult to try to raise.
My opinions only.

A classmate isn't a random person. A pretty girl and a boy walking alone but together in the woods at 1am isn't random. 114 stab wounds is personal. No. This murder was not random. MOO.

"The defendant made statements to several people that he intended to kill someone. He didn't say who that was, but he indicated to witnesses that he was going to kill someone by taking them into the woods and stabbing them."

The "random" part is still unclear to me, because none of us are in Fucci's head, whether he KNEW who that someone was going to be, or whether it was random for him as well, could have been anyone. He didn't TELL anyone who that was, but we don't know a this point whether in his mind, this was random or targeted toward Tristyn.

I could see this going either way. This could be some messed-up 4-chan kid who felt powerless and, like a number of them have done, lashed out with violence at that powerlessness, or this could be far more personal. Maybe he hated Tristyn specifically. Maybe she rejected him. Maybe she ridiculed him. Maybe he just hated ALL cheerleaders, because they represent the confidence and success he was unable to achieve in his own life.

I hope the true nuanced motives come out at trial.

Wow, I didn't expect that attitude. Guess I expected a bit of shakiness, quivering voice, etc., and there was none of that. moo

Fucci, who was initially charged with second-degree murder, appeared virtually before a judge in St. Johns County court on the upgraded charge Friday morning. He is expected to be arraigned on the upgraded charge within a week. His public defender did not object to the judge’s order that Fucci be held without bond but said a motion for bond might be filed later.

Bond is not typically granted in first-degree murder cases.

I feel like he's quite proud of himself. So disturbing.

Do any of you think that some of these young people committing horrible crimes are a reaction to an increasingly complex and competitive world? In a weird sense, the end result is a massive simplification of life. One can either trudge forward, complete the education, maybe some advanced education, compete for jobs, fight to pay bills and all the other things we compete for on a daily basis, or we could commit one heinous act, and get three hots and a cot for the rest of our natural born days. No more real decisions that matter, no more real responsibilities. "problem solved."

Not that I'm thinking of that choice myself -- I like my creature comforts and freedom too much.

This part was news to me:

According to the warrant affidavit from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, Fucci was interviewed by detectives who were investigating Bailey’s disappearance.

The affidavit states that Fucci’s story to detectives changed several times, but that he made several admissions. It states Fucci admitted to walking along North Durbin Parkway and getting into an argument with Bailey, “in which he forcefully pushed the victim to the ground, causing her head to strike the ground.”

State attorney: Tristyn Bailey stabbed 114 times
