Exactly,,,ITA,,,He was threatening, saying he wanted to hurt her or kill her, before she ever said anything about his brother, if my memory has not gone completely on vacation.....Also, I would like very much to hear from others here about the possibility of the girlfriend who is 13, starting the instigation because her BFF would not let her talk to her boyfriend when she wanted to.....I saw the interview where the 13 yr old said the "c" word twice, and I fail to see the pain and hurt from her, knowing she was the one who could have stopped him from almost killing the girl....nevermind the fact the 13 yr old lead him to her.....IMO, it is almost like she wanted this to happen...
I whole heartedly agree on the first part, but for the rest...
I have to say, I just don't get it. Your theory is that Josie didn't let K text with T, making her mad, so K texts to T on the phone she wasn't being allowed to use to tell T he needed to leave her alone? :waitasec: Also, if she was intent on seeing Josie get beaten, wouldn't she have stayed to watch and egged T on, rather than having just pointed her out and walked off to get on her bus (which is what she did, even the prosecutors agree).
With regards to the interview - IMO her flat speaking style is characteristic of those with stage fright being forced to do public interviews (I'm the same way), not to mention she's had plenty of time to work through her emotions since the attack, so I didn't really expect any tears or whatever in that interview. As far as the C word usage, well, she was quoting the texts, so I don't really see the issue there other than it being one of George Carlin's unspeakable words.
On being 'the one who could have stopped him' and having led him to her, I really don't see how she was supposed to magically know that he was intent on murder when no one else would have predicted it (especially given his lack of a weapon and that the first girl he accosted thinking she was Josie
was not harmed), and IMO when a girl is dating a guy, the last thing she expects him to be is homicidal or the type of guy that would beat a girl. Other than just because LE said so, I really don't see any good reason to believe that K knew or even suspected his intent - and if she didn't, then she is only guilty of trusting her boyfriend to be a relatively normal human being not a (insert what I know you are thinking of him here), and is just another one of his victims, as is her family. If they can prove it in court, fine - but extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof, and I have yet to see anything that remotely qualifies.
What caught my attention in that interview was that I was right - K is getting death threats, is completely isolated and her family is terrified. IMO, thanks to Florida's insane lack of privacy laws, this girl has a very good chance of winding up dead or seriously injured before she ever gets to trial, either at the hands of some nutter or by her own hand once it sinks in that regardless of what happens in court, her life is over. I wouldn't be surprised if her aunt or cousin end up hurt either - arson is a favorite tool of vigilantes, and the only time K is outside is to pick up her cousin from the bus, making him vulnerable too.
I have to say I'm horrified at Florida - no other state that I know of (please correct me if I'm wrong) would allow a thirteen year old girl's identity to be paraded around in the media like this who has not been charged as an adult and in fact has yet to go to trial and is thus supposed to be presumed innocent - and there is a good reason for that. She is a child and cannot protect herself or just pick up and move on, and even if she is found to have done wrong, the whole point of the Juvenile system is to allow for the fact that kids screw up, make dumb decisions that don't necessarily reflect any true malice on their part. If she was deserving of having her life wrecked, then she should have been charged as an adult. Since she wasn't, regardless of the results of the trial she has been dealt a grave injustice by the people of Florida IMO, and this is not the kind of low, slimy thing that should be going on in the name of justice for Josie as far as I'm concerned.
I have more thoughts on K's charges, but I've ranted enough to test everyone's patience I'm sure, so I'll just stop here and reiterate that this is all just my take on things, and I picked the name Skewed View for a reason, so I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me on this one. Sorry if I'm
