What do yall think are the odds that Wendy is alive? Im not sure. I am sure that I found a Wendy same middle initial, same date of birth, records show she lived in Chicago (wendy was from chicago) and Virginia prior to now living in the panhandle of Florida which is a recent address. I cannot divulge where I got this info from because it may not be kosher to have obtained it this way.
Thats a thought but would I sound stalkerish? If she's hiding?Send a card - vanilla - say "hey, are you the Wendy I knew, we followed this band...."
UP to the recipient to respond?
When I matched to my unknown brother via DNA, I sent a Thinking of You card with my contact info. I’d send a greeting card, just be brief. Maybe she’ll respond!Thats a thought but would I sound stalkerish? If she's hiding?

Im going to mention the bands and ask if she lived in Holiday at one point in her life.If you only mention the band, she may guess that you don't know she disappeared?
And, if she chooses to remain hidden -- she knows that someone cares about the teen-aged Wendy Huggy.
Maybe she'll Google & find out that through you, we've all been introduced to her -- and she matters to us.

I think it's totally possible and I sure hope she is still alive and happy. What do yall think are the odds that Wendy is alive? Im not sure. Are you a relative? Im curious because you said you were told she was missing at 6. I agree that something happened and it was with who ever "Don" was who she said was giving her a ride home from mall. I was not aware that the friend was at the mall with her. I also wonder who the friend is. I've thought about Donna from Aladdin's castles sister. She lived at the complex.A little background that seems to be missing from what I've read here.
Wendy was living with her maternal grandparents in Pasco county, that's known.
Wendy was dropped off at a family member's place, the Patrician Apartments, in Pinellas county.
Wendy went to Countryside Mall with a friend/acquaintance who also lived at the apartments she was visiting. The mall is also located in Pinellas county.
Yes, she called to say she wouldn't need a ride home.
One thing I'm not seeing mentioned is the jurisdictional complication. Wendy was living in Pasco but went missing from Pinellas and in the 80s that did make a difference. There was also the fact that she was married, which meant that legally she was an adult regardless of age. The search for a missing minor was called off because as a legal adult she was allowed to just leave and never look back. There wasn't any evidence at the time to suggest foul play so technically there was nothing more police could actively do.
No, I do not believe that's what happened. I believe something bad happened that night because that's what I felt the minute I heard she was missing. I was 6 so that's all we were told, she's missing.
Pasco does have a file for her in the Cold Case department. The police do have the means to identify her remains, should they ever be found. Her information is out there on the missing persons and doe sites.
Something that's never been heard is what happened after the mall. Sadly, I don't have that information and the only person who does is the girl she went to the mall with and she's never said. She was a minor so I've never been able to get a name and the relative she was visiting passed away several years ago.
