Anyone have an opinion for this UID? The UID has expensive dental hardware where I do not see that for Katie but I figured I would see what someone else thinks.

Bump she has been gone for almost 6 years. This is a hometown mystery for us. Any new info?

Bump for Katie. I am local and I have no idea where her car could have gone especially, that's the most perplexing part of this.

I find it weird there's no estimated time that she went missing, or at least when the daughter got home and realized she was? Just that it was at night?

She has been searched for by a few teams, Doug of (at the time) Adventures with Purpose is the only team that has posted where they searched.

Ok, some of the news articles are gone now but can be found on the wayback machine.
The interview doesn't load though, that seems to be gone.

Updated summary

On Sunday, September 28th, 2014, her older daughter Maria arrived home and was told by her younger sister that their mother had stepped out for 30 minutes to go to the store, approximately 6:45 p.m. When they tried getting a hold of her a couple hours later, her phone was off. She was last seen wearing a white long sleeve shirt and a blue/white floral designed long skirt.

According to her husband in a video by AWP, she had talked to a friend for around 40 minutes and her cell phone pinged around the Pineda Causeway. It's thought she could have been at either of two parks that she frequented, Rotary Park and Shore Side Park.
Her going missing is not common. Maria says her mother had been experiencing blackouts and bouts of confusion, but she usually came out of them. She could become very disoriented even in familiar places.

She is the mother of three children and a science professor at East Florida State College.

It was Sunday and it would have been dark out by the time she disappeared.

Anyone with information about Ms. Belaya is asked to call the Brevard County Sheriff's Office West Precinct General Crimes Unit at 321-617-7306 or CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477). All calls to CRIMELINE are confidential.

After reading about Katya's case, I kinda knew this was her fate. Sad, but at least Katya's family has a bit of closure.

Belaya drove off in her minivan, which was located on Dec. 20, 2024, by Sunshine State Sonar, following new information provided by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office the day prior.

"We received additional information on that case that was not posted online — cellphone ping data from that evening — and that is ultimately what led us to that particular area where we located that vehicle," said Mike Sullivan with Sunshine State Sonar.

A spokesperson for the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office told McClatchy News that dental records confirmed the remains belonged to Belaya. Belaya’s family reported her missing after they last saw her Sept. 28, 2014, leaving their Melbourne home to go to a store, according to law enforcement and family. Deputies at the time tracked down the area where her cell phone last pinged, but they couldn’t find Belaya or her minivan, authorities said.

Sonar technology and cell phone tracking was less advanced 10 years ago, the spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said, so the case went cold. One of her daughters, Sasha Belaya, told WOFL that her mom put her daughters “above anything else in her life” and that it wasn’t normal for her to disappear like that.

In August 2024, Sunshine State Sonar reached out to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office for information on the case. The crews said they searched 32 bodies of water, then on Dec. 20, they found Belaya’s upside down minivan 24 feet deep in a retention pond. Authorities hauled her vehicle out of the pond and confirmed it belonged to Belaya. Her remains found inside were later identified.
