YW, scmom. I think the Judge and attorneys might be coming back but not at all sure about that. In any event, I'm tired and getting off my laptop and heading for the couch and my IPad, lol.

Interesting, imo, that only one family member spoke and even then all she said was that she loves him and will support him. I suppose I just expected her to plead for his life...

Yes, it did sound like they had more business to take care of before tomorrow morning.
Maybe the defense wanted to show the jury how little support LT has from his family as a ploy for sympathy. He's supposed to still have a relationship with his daughter so I would have considered that she would testify to their love for each other and all that.

Here’s another article on the hand signals:

[h=1]Judge tells convicted murderer Luis Toledo to stop trying to signal jury[/h][h=2]'Just go ahead and do it,' experts say Volusia killer motioned to jury[/h]By Loren Korn - Reporter

Before the judge even called for the jury to enter the courtroom he spoke to Toledo.

"There were a certain number of hand gestures that you made that were picked up by some of the cameras," Judge Raul Zambrano said.

A video of Toledo from Wednesday afternoon shows Toledo signing a message with his hands.
Investigators working on the case told News 6 Toledo was trying to communicate the phrase, "Just go ahead and do it.”

Okay so he's just checked out of this whole thing. He is acting like a child that is sulking because things didn't go his way. It's like he's offended or something. Did he even want a trial? Why didn't he just plead guilty? Oh yeah, he was hoping to get off with manslaughter probably.

And seriously, if he was trying to communicate the phrase "Just go ahead and do it" to the jury, does he think someone on there would get it or does he know there is someone on there that would?

Exactly, Kamille. And why not just make that statement to the jury (he refused to speak on his own behalf tomorrow) instead of making clandestine signals the average person would not understand?

News13 stated in their article that today he kept his hands down. Well, MOO, yes and no. During the morning session he stroked his face continually with his left hand using what looked to me like a couple gestures (two fingers above lips, under nose—Frank posted a couple pics) and kept plucking at his beard line, etc., but during the afternoon session he did keep his hands down.

In court Thursday, Toledo was warned to stop using hand signals to communicate to someone."There were a certain number of hand gestures you made that were picked up by some of the cameras," Zambrano said to Toledo. "No. 1, it was an unwelcomed distraction for this trial. No. 2, it's a security violation, so I'm going to warn you not to do that again," Zambrano said.
After the warning, Toledo kept his hands down.

So, now we have two viewpoints from Media: He was signaling reporters, as stated in earlier articles, and now he was signaling jurors. Hmmmm. No one’s mentioning the brother in the back of the room yesterday.

Weird. Just bizarre.

His back was probably to the brother as the brother was probably sitting in the section behind him. Not sure the brother really wants to get involved with him anyway. If anything he's probably relieved he doesn't have to deal with him anymore. I want to know why no one would think he may have been signalling gang members on the outside? He's been in a detention centre atmosphere for 4 years. He likely made a LOT of "friends" in there who are now on the outside.

And yes, gang members could have been watching online. Lots of people were on all three livestreaming sites, including a woman on the Livestream feed who claimed to be the mother of a half-sister to the deceased children.

But I do kinda believe the Media’s interpretation of what the signals meant.

Those hand signals show us exactly how sly LT thinks he is.

Nope, not yet. Maybe I'll catch up on that one later. Guess it's just that this one is so near and dear to my heart since I lived nearby and pass by Yessenia's house all the time. Every single time I go by I think of her and the kids. Wonder what today will bring....

I had hoped he would have told where he disposed of their bodies to avoid the possibility of the death penalty, but it seems his intent is to keep torturing Yessenia's family as long as possible. I think he deserves the death penalty but it would be okay with me if he gets LWOP because I think he'd be tortured himself that way.
