From the above article

When one family unzipped the body bag shown to them at a mortuary, they were reportedly aghast to find two heads – one belonging to their relative, the other unrecognisable.

And a distraught British widow received the remains of her husband in two coffins, delivered weeks apart, obliging her to cremate him twice.

Imagining the horror on board. Unbelievable.

it all happened in half a minute so I don't think they would've had time to even realize anything was happening, except, of course the poor co-pilot

That is unacceptable. This was not an accidental mix up done under pressure and body parts becoming very difficult to identify due to the crash.. Who ever did this must have known that there were two heads.
Those poor relatives.

To be fair. Feeling the plane descending right after take off is not common at all. People must have known something was wrong, but not enough to the extend to know they were about to crash. Maybe the people who had a window seat, could see what was coming.

If not for so many buildings close to the airport,
would have it been possible for the plane to land somehow?
And save at least some passengers?

It seems to me dangerous
to build right next to the airport.

Not to mention terrible noise day & night
for people living so close to the airport.

You’re right, there would have not been a rational feeling of what was happening. You expect lift after take off. Depending where I am sitting I always listen to gear being retracted.

Hi Charlotte 123….your insight is brilliant. Are you in a position to give a “profile” of one who would commit this sort of act?

I also think
maybe all victims should have been buried in a common/joint tomb?

Because, let's be honest,
IMO it seems impossible not to make mistakes while retrieving the bodies and sending remains to the families :(

As the victims all died together so violently
maybe they also should have been buried together?

With the Monument honouring them
and all names inscribed?

And families living abroad
could have taken symbolic amount of soil from the catastrophe's site to bury in their countries.

May the Victims Rest in Peace 🕯️

I remember reading a book on The World Trade Centre via a forensic- view point. There were many discrepancies in identification. The Hindi religion believes folk should be given back to the Ganges River for reasons of Karma. During Covid there were thousands of bodies laid bare on the river for the same thing.
