Florida Bar Allegedly Prepares Case against Baez

  • #341
I hope that the As realize that no one is picking on Baez (their State against them mentality)...these complaints address Baez's ability (or lack thereof) to defend their daughter. The integrity of this case is at stake. I really do hope that this one has been filed by someone who has direct involvement with the case. It would legitimize the complaint IMO (though I don't know whatever happened to JS's).

I agree and wouldn't it be so much more KARMIC if it was Citizen Joe Jordan. :great:

Since BC was not the one to file a complaint against JB for misrepresentation to the court, could someone file a bar complaint against BC for not filing the complaint... since it sounds like he should have?

What a mess!

It is my opinion that it was either a regular person, who read through the discovery these past few days, that filed the bar complaint... or it was MN who filed the complaint... or it could have been Judge Perry? Who knows?

What I do understand is that this complaint should not interfere with Casey's trial happening in May. I can't wait until Friday! Isn't that the next status hearing?

In the interview with Bill Schaeffer on WFTV that was linked upthread, at the very end Mr. Schaeffer said that BC could be subject to a complaint for not reporting the info but he has never seen anyone punished for something like that. It will hurt his credibility with his peers and with judges in the future though. That video really explains a lot and it is a must see! I know it made me smile. :great:

According to BS...it shouldn't hurt BC as far as the Bar penalizing him...but it may affect his credibility in Court.

That was my favorite part too!! Wasn't there another article recently where he was childish to a reporter also? :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

You want childish -- oh the choices are rich! Here is one!

Well there was the play by my rules or I will stomp and pout video.

They speak of misrepresentations...IMO there have been more than just the one concerning BC...I'm thinking JJ and LB's statements...and then there is the falsified document...did Baez know?

He must have known he should have disclosed its existence to the prosecution.
Another violation surely ?

Wonder if Cheney is prepared to put this down to his boy's youth and relative inexperience or is he getting ready to scarper. :floorlaugh:

Well, according to BS any punishment will have to wait...that this little problem (not really) wouldn't affect anything pertaining to the case...even on appeal. But I find it hard to believe that it'll have no bearing at trial. Cheney Mason might want to include this query on his questionnaire..."Are you aware that the Florida Bar is investigating the defense's lawyer?"

  • #351
Do we ever get to learn who filed the complaint, and if so, how?

  • #352
Haven't been on in awhile but have been reading. My thoughts on who reported this to the bar? LDB & JA they are also lawyers who have an ethical duty to report any misrepresentations and they have in from their invesigative supeona to BC on tape and then transcribed. I believe just as BC should have reported it - when it came to their notice I firmly believe that as ethical lawyers they would have reported it. JMOO

The irony is rich indeed.

I have to say I have enjoyed seeing some of the reader comments below the Orlando Sentinel article.

So far JB has been just like a duck with the water sliding right off of his back. He's a sneak imo and him requesting BC to get in touch with LB is just one more example of him not getting his hands dirty. Eventually his luck will run out.

please refresh my memory......in the video with Bill Sheaffer...what is it that JB said BC had as evidence? and miss repersented that in court?...is it the Tess doc or something else?

BBM.

Won't they find it impossible to seat a Jury though if they basically conduct a popularity poll on JB?

The Jury should not be distracted by the escapades of the Defense attorney's ... it is one thing to set aside any opinions of ICA and weigh the evidence and testimony against her but ... completely another if you have a 'rogue attorney' who is not on trial but is badly notorious yet representing.

Is that the Defense strategy -- not so much in-effective counsel given the overall team in play but ... a rogue attorney who polarizes folks and harms the defendant's right to a fair trial -- per even the SAO?

sniped

"If this is true, other than stealing or being accused of stealing a client's money, there is no more serious charge that a lawyer can face," Sheaffer said.
video of Mr. Sheaffer
http://www.wftv.com/video/26716978/index.html

Sheaffer, who served as the vice chair of the Florida Bar Association's Grievance Committee says, on a scale of one to 10, as charges go, it's a ten.
The grievance apparently comes from an accusation made by Casey's parents' former attorney, Brad Conway.

Thanks to Muzikman! Brad Conway's interview audio. A MUST listen!!http://www.filefactory.com/file/b53ca07/n/BradConway.wma

Conway told Orange County sheriff's investigators four months ago that Baez lied to Chief Judge Belvin Perry about how Conway had seen evidence showing Caylee's body was not in the woods four months before her remains were found, but Conway told them, "I certainly did not see that, wasn't aware of it."

http://www.wftv.com/news/26717189/detail.html

Conway said, at the time, he was thinking, "Bull****, it didn't happen.

oh thank you!!!....i havent listen to this one yet :)

Yeah, he said that BC was allowed by MN to view the TES documents and had knowledge of people who searched the area where Caylee was found and did not find a body. Not those exact words.
