Florida Bar Allegedly Prepares Case against Baez

  • #421
I listened to it 3 times....It really concerns me that ICA won't get a fair trial. I hope JB is held to task... I almost feel sorry for KC...what???? Did i say that...

Oh she will get a fair trial - at least I feel 150% confident of that - HHJP will make sure she does.

The issue really is Baez wants evidence to defend her with, and there isn't any. In spite of his "over-zealousness.

Casey Attorney Jose Baez Under Investigation
Bar Case Is Lawyer's Second In Three Years

OMG!!! WESH pro-defense slant much???

"Second in three years" ?? really???!!

The tally so far ..... (that we/the public know about)

BAR COMPLAINTS

1 - about his history posted on his website (false advertising) Sept 2008 - May 2009
ordered to go through diversion - ad classes - not serious reprimand
2 - Dominic Casey - did not get paid, told not to call LE if found Caylee - filed April 2009 - FL Bar said he broke no rules about pmt Sept 2009
3 - Judge Strickland - passed on a complaint about Baez about Dominic allegations
WFTV article says May 2009
4 - Shannon Stoy - how defense being paid - Bar said he broke no rules Sept 2009
filed complaint in Feb - 7 months to complete complaint
5 - Conway or Anthonys? - how defense is funded [KC wrote this in letter to Inmate]
6 - possible - Tony Padilla filed complaint???? - fake contract? Aug 2009
7 - Diane Fanning book says complaint about Todd Black making derogatory comments about Prosecutors (Jan 2009) - also says complaint by Judge about DC not call LE if found Caylee - WFTV article says same thing about derogatory comments
8 - Jan 2009 - somebody read news about Baez touching Inmate - filed complaint

9 - newest one just filed - open and ongoing .... February 2011
In the beginning of 2009, the defense filed a motion to recuse the prosecution because a bar complaint was made by someone working for the SAO. IIRC it's #5 (BBM).

I found an old article about that occasion, with Mr. Mason - who wasn't yet contemplating joining the defense team - telling WESH how he felt about Baez' motion: "an effort to harass the prosecution". Ah, the good old days when he called it like it was

Click here to take a trip down memory lane. You'll find the article halfway down the page (Prosecutors Respond To Baez Motion).

Anybody know the date of the Hearing where NeJame was in the courtroom, and Conway was there too, and Baez made the claims that Conway was aware of information in TES documents that would corroborate the Defense claim that Caylee's body was put there while Inmate Casey was in jail?
No exact date but probably somewhere around August 2010 when Conway stepped down. Wasn't the motion in question included in the latest discovery? I read too much discovery to remember clearly, sorry.

ETA: there was a hearing July 15 (911 calls) where TES issues came up.

Right. that's what I get from Conway's transcript.
Conway says that Baez misrepresented to the Court, that Conway "had information" about exculpatory information in the TES documents.

In Conway's transcript -- Conway says that Baez said Conway had access to TES records, had preferential treatment, and "had information that would I guess corroborate their claim that, that Caylee's body wasn't there um, when their client was out of jail. And that was not true."

Conway said: BC - Ah, where the defense made representation that I was aware that there was information in the EquuSearch records that were essentially exculpatory or in other words, they said that the body was.. wasn't there um, while.. the body was not there during the period of time when Caylee.. Casey Anthony was in jail. And (Inaudible)... I certainly did not see that, wasn't aware of it."

I have to re-read Conway's transcript again. I listened to that portion of the April 5 hearing and I didn't hear anything like that, but then again, it was starting and stopping all over the place towards the beginning. But Brad was there, so I tend to believe what he says over Baez any day.

This is just my take on it, it will never go to trial...I've been worried about from the get go. Listen to the recorded statement from LE with Kelly S...It was very interesting.

Given the proximity of this latest complaint to the last document dump, it would be a good guess that whatever was filed with the Bar was related to the issues revealed in there. Now don't forget there is another wronged party in all of JB's shenanigans, TES themselves. TES and MN may not have known the full extent of the unethical behavior until they saw BC's interview. The complaint may be coming from that direction? Remember JB was not making the misrepresentations of BC in order to argue against BC. he was lying in order to win a motion against MN and TES.

Well IMO, if it turns out that it's Nejame, I think it will be well-documented and basically a doozy!

I did but I'm not sure what you mean.

Oh great comment - Mark NeJames - he's probably still pretty steamed.

Sheaffer talking about Bar complaint

(8:28) Kathi says rules say Conway should have reported this to the Bar
Kathi - "I am told, at least this much, he is not the one who reported it"
Sheaffer - Conway should have told Baez to make it right, and if he didn't then report it to the court
Conway did not take steps to rectify this misrepresentation

In my opinion, that is not a clear, and strong denial on Conway's part that he filed the Bar complaint.... it is just what an unidentified "source" told Kathi B.

Just judging from the "strength" of Bill's comments about Brad - my guess is he does know for sure it wasn't Brad. Otherwise I think he would have been less forceful in his comments and voiced them more tentatively.

I thought Bill S. had very clear, strong body language. Some of seemed to be barely suppressed outrage.

Yes! And can you imagine how TM must feel knowing that JB allegedly was involved in trying to set up/obtain false records from his organization to help free the accused murderer of a child he searched for? Steamed is putting it mildly, I'd imagine. jmo

Gonna go back and catch up, but, I wonder if it's possible that the complaint came from someone in the JAC Office???

You have to bet that they would LOVE to nail him by now for his actions and high-tones.

That was their last hope for a defense.....no SODDI lurking here!

True but ... Part of me thinks that JB and ICA are going to just roll the dice. It is just the way they are ... Defiant and just plain st.... [unusual people]. ICA then has ultimate control and deniability ... Something she would not do and did not do. Yeah, right!

I think that would only happen if they had some clear evidence of financial impropriety

JB best have another way to make a living..Lawyering just isnt part of his distant future :loser:

Respectivly snipped:

See, that right there is the key to Jose Baez.

He does not care.
Had he cared in the first place, it would not have taken him selling bikinis on line among other things for 8yrs to finally get the Bar's okay.

He didn't care then, and, he doesn't care now, or when Casey Anthony graced his door.

He doesn't want to "work" = his filings and motions plainly tell that story.

One of his first public statements was that he was going to be famous.
A famous Hispanic Attorney, the one with the biggest and most respected practice in all the land.
Pfff - we all saw through that.

He stole Casey Anthony's blood money from the sale of pictures, and wined and dined every high powered attorney that he could contact and bluff.
He expected them to do the work, while he reaped the rewards and benefits.

Not for one minute, have I ever thought that once this case was over, would his gaudy Coat of Arms and shingle outside his door still be hanging. Those have been hanging by a thread as it is for the last 18 months.

While visions of Sugar Plums danced in his head, he took rides with who he thought was his new best friend forever, Geraldo, and even he has disappeared.
So, he lowered his standards, and grabbed onto Jane Velez-Mitchell, cause she needed to fill space, and has her own ulterior reasons for giving him a platform, and a large pat on the back.

Dreams of Telemundo are probably down the drain, but, he still will end up selling books and his story.
Still a "win/win" for him, and what does he care who has had to step on and lie to, or about to get to his end ~

But, as far as ever practicing Law again, I think that though went straight out the window once he encountered Casey Anthony and saw the potential of what he had in his hand.

The Goose that laid the Golden Egg ~
It's really to damn bad that someone doesn't smash that egg in his face, and maybe this complaint will be the one that has great aim when the time comes.

And, he won't even care ~ The man does not want to work. Never has, and much like his client, never will once this is over.
JMO of course, and I've been wrong before as well..........so shall see.

Anyone..... anywhere .... any time .... can file a Bar complaint ... a person does not have to live in the same State, or be directly involved in the case ... or be an officer of the court .... however, complaints from persons directly affected by the actions reported would probably be taken more seriously by the Florida Bar .....

I am way behind on reading (watched KB and BS 5times! LOL) but would it not be a hoot if Cindy filed it thinking it would get rid of JB after seeing the last doc dump!

Also, he lied not just to a judge, but if memory serves me JP was on board and he is a CHIEF JUDGE!

Also......I am expecting an bar complaint on the matter of JB involvement in CA and GA signing the waiver without BC knowledge.

And of course, those twarting, testie tampering charges!

Back when I catch up -- if I don't watch that video a few more times!

IT WAS JUDGE STAN!

Still looking for the one where JB says BC in possession, btw.

Well, since 27 posters here (28 including me) offered to buy whoever filed this complaint a drink, it will be easy. Just look for the drunkest person in Florida tonight and you will know who contacted the Florida Bar. :floorlaugh:

^ What Purple Iris said.

He does not want to work. Bottom line.

He's ~entitled~ to money he did not earn because he's ....... well, he's Baez the Incredible.

:floorlaugh:

Mrs. Baez may have a different perspective once he's out on his behind.

Ah...it was kinda said tongue in cheek...but seriously...how can this not affect the case/trial?

imo it can! This man, this con-man, is Casey's appeal in the making. Nothing this man has done for Casey = a competent defense!
