Florida - Coronavirus Covid-19 #2

  • #101
Another scarey day in Florida, folks:

WFTV-Orlando reports at noon-

11,458 NEW cases since yesterday

244,151 total cases statewide

93 new deaths overnight

Too bad, DeSantis doesn't actually DO something instead of holding excuse making
press conferences each day. They're a waste
of just his gibberish of minute details to sound like he's an expert.
We don't want or need statistics.
We want action that slows the spread.
his PC today is reportedly to make "a major announcement".
Florida reports more than 11,400 new COVID-19 cases, second-highest ever daily increase
Oh he's "doing something" alright - forcing FL schools to open 5 days a week. and he won't back down. sound familiar?

Florida governor resists ordering masks as hospitals fill up amid COVID-19 pandemic

A doctor's group gathered outside his mansion in Tallahassee on Friday morning to urge him to issue an order mandating the use of face masks statewide.

Physicians for Social Responsibility said it had gathered more than 1,000 signatures from physicians across Florida calling for the mandatory use of masks in public places as an important step in controlling the spread of the virus. In most of the state's heavily populated areas, local mask orders are already in place.

“The governor will have to own up and take personal responsibility for these sick and dead Floridians,” said Dr. Ron Saff, a Tallahassee allergist and a board member of the group, which urged the public to phone and email the governor.

I suggest sending him a shovel to start digging graves.

'Grim Reaper' stops in Tallahassee over DeSantis refusal to order mask-wearing

The Reaper, as portrayed these days by Panhandle attorney Daniel Uhlfelder, walked through the courtyard footsteps away from the Governor's Mansion while a group of physicians demanded action from Gov. Ron DeSantis.

With the continuous surge of COVID-19 cases throughout Florida, Drs. Howard Kessler, Ron Saff and Donald Axelrad called upon DeSantis to mandate mask-wearing throughout the state.

Governor Gretchen Witmer has mandated mask wearing throughout the state- and Michigan right now isn't nearly as bad as Florida----

must be why Gov. DeSantis was all "twitchy"
and bleary-eyed at today's PC in Bradenton.
Me thinks he should knock off the after hours
imbibing when he plans to go on air the next day.

Florida releases data showing nearly 7,000 Floridians are hospitalized for COVID-19

As of Friday evening, 6,994 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 across 56 of Florida's counties, according to newly released data from the Agency of Health Care Administration.

The data shows a county-by-county breakdown of hospitalizations, with the lowest county having zero hospitalizations and the highest reporting 1,578 in Miami-Dade.

This new data does not differentiate between how many ICU versus standard hospital beds those seeking treatment at Florida hospitals occupy at this time.

The Top 5 counties for COVID-19 hospitalizations include:
  • Miami-Dade: 1,578 hospitalizations
  • Broward: 969 hospitalizations
  • Palm Beach: 606 hospitalizations
  • Orange: 478 hospitalizations
  • Duval: 439 hospitalizations

60,000+ cases in one week.

Floridians, wear your masks, everywhere. Stay home if at all possible.

And an ironic twist here where a St. John's County Commissioner who last week voted against requiring masks in his county, has been admitted into a hospital in critical condition with Covid 19.
Did he believe he was immune? Photo shows him to be very, very overweight.
