Who is RH ?

RH is Teresa's former boyfriend, they hadn't been dating since high school if I remember correctly. Ryan H.

I thought they had dated at College as well, but don't quote me. lol.

I get the impression that he wanted to get back together with Teresa- he was jealous at a party and had a scuffle with a guy she was going out with at the time.

He was the one who Teresa had broken up with saying he was 'wierd'.

HI LifeCitizen! Nice to hear from you! Hope you are doing well! I remember hearing that, but I'm not sure if it was in the docs or a :rumor:. Was that in the CASO docs? Where is Missy when yo need her???

I was sleeping haha

It is just a rumor. It's been discussed elsewhere, but no confirmation about any fight or even a party on the Saturday night. I have always thought it was odd that no one said they were with her on Saturday night. We know that she was doing photo's at a wedding ( I think with her brother Mike who was videotaping it) but IIRC there is no mention from any friends/family about what she did after that wedding. The Halloween party has never been confirmed either.... it's in the CASO report as being on the 21st, RH mentions something about a cowgirl hat on that Sunday when he saw her. The 21st seems so early for a Halloween party IMO And it's only mentioned by 1 friend too. I would have to go back and look at the docs to confirm, but I do think they did a very poor job of looking into TH's last few days and who she was with, etc.

Hi back BCA! Hope your daughter is doing well :)

Missy hi too! Lucky you're around to stop people spreading misinformation. haha.

I thought that was in the CASO docs but maybe I've just read it somewhere and took it as fact.

Hi LifeCitizen :) I know I have read about it too... but I have never been able to find the source of it lol

It's unfortunate that we don't have a better idea of Teresa's last few days :( I remember reading somewhere (maybe in pretrial testimony), that Wiegert was at TH's house at some point when her friends were there, either the Friday when they were distributing flyers, or Saturday morning when RH was sending others out with maps, there is nothing in the reports that say "so-and-so" was with her on Friday or Saturday night that weekend. I just found it somewhat odd. It was probably the same day that one of her friends asked to talk to investigators alone and informed them of the weird 'friend' BC.

http://wislawjournal.com/2016/06/06/critics-corner-convicting-avery-and-overturning-denny/

'Critic's Corner: Convicting Avery (and Overturning Denny)'

"Denny is an irrational, truth-suppressing rule that Avery's trial and appellate judges used to foreclose his third-party defense in the Halbach murder case. Even worse, the application of Denny to Avery's first case not only resulted in a wrongful conviction but also allowed a rapist (Gregory Allen) to roam free...

The lesson in all of this is that law enforcement may suffer from subconscious tunnel vision, may do a poor job investigating a crime, may intentionally target an innocent person, or may simply be overworked. And when courts handcuff defendants with law enforcement's deficiencies and limitations, guilty people will slide under the radar...

In other words, even if courts don't care about convicting innocent people, they need to remember the other half of this equation: When courts use Denny's irrational double standard to suppress evidence of third-party guilt, guilty third parties will go free. Law enforcement's flaws are deep and many, and we all lose when Denny prohibits defendants from doing the job that law enforcement shoulld have done, but failed to do. Until Denny is overturned, we'll never know how many Gregory Allens are roaming free and committing more crimes in Wisconsin."

This is an excellent article from Wisconsin Law Journal that illustrates exactly what is wrong with the Denny ruling being used in trials in the way it was used in SA case. I agree with everything he states in this article, and could not believe that such a thing as this ruling existed when I watched the documentary, because I had never heard of such a thing where a defendant, basically, was prohibited from defending himself.

'The Use of the Polygraph Test for Brendan Dassey in Making a Murderer'

This is an excellent article from Cornell University that explains a brief history of the polygraph test and how it was employed in Brendan's case. It contained information that I had previously not been aware of and that was that the defense had experts to testify, in Brendan's post-conviction hearing, that Brendan actually DID pass the polygraph, but the court wouldn't allow the testimony because of "lack of relevance".

" Second, in the post-conviction trial, Dassey’s attorneys sought to admit the testimony of Dr. Charles Honts, an expert witness on polygraphs, who would have testified that he had reviewed the polygraph charts prepared by Michael O’Kelly, and that “his analysis of the charts demonstrated that Brendan Dassey passed the polygraph test given to him. Dr. Honts’ testimony was not admitted on the grounds of “lack of relevance.”Third, despite Kachinsky claiming that O’Kelly had reported inconclusive results, O’Kelly claimed that the polygraph test results indicated a 98% rate of deception. This final interpretation of failure was the result that Dassey received in his May 12th interview with O’Kelly, and this set the stage for three major conversations: the interrogation by O’Kelly, the interrogation by Dassey’s investigators, and Dassey’s phone call confession to his mother."

Unbelievable that an expert was not allowed to testify that Brendan passed the polygraph because of "lack of relevance"!?!?! Brendan's so called "confession" was the ONLY evidence the state had against Brendan, and yet the defense had an expert that could corroborate that Brendan's first statements (the ONLY statements of Brendan's that actually stayed consistent throughout that time period) were true were deemed not relevant!?!?! I swear, the more I learn about these cases each day, the madder I get! :furious:

This pertains to the article that missy posted about SA neighbor, WS. I am including the link to the police dispatch calls because at 26:37 on the video, dispatch informs that this man's daughter just called in describing what sounds like confirmation that those events he recalled are true.

Hi BCA

I'm not sure if it was you or not, but I remember somewhere on here there was a discussion about that property too, or how close it was to the entrance to the back of the Avery lot. If the RAV4 was planted, it's most likely it entered the property through the back and had to go past that neighbor's property IMO.

Now... who drove a white jeep in 2005? lol

here is the photo from the article, showing where the neighbor lives.

LOL...you are so right Missy. I had mentioned that it would be so quiet out in the country there and the house was right there by the entrance~~that the owner would have heard someone down there in the middle of the night and so it appears so! It was when we were discussing the quarry~~although the pic of the quarry that the WS'er posted made it look much closer.

Do we know who had a white jeep in 2005?

Oh and by the way~~Hi~~back at you!!!:)

Hi Dexter!!! :seeya: Thanks so much~~~yes, she is doing better now! Yes, this darn fence is so wobbly!!! :floating: Summer is starting out great~~she can't jet ski, but none the less, she will have a good time this summer. We have vacation planned in the not too distance future, so I'm so excited about that! We are going up to the cabin in the not too distance future, maybe I'll finally remember to print TH's phone records to compare to the towers up there.

Hoping you and all my fellow Avery WSer's have a wonderful summer too!!! :)

ETA: Sarah, haven't heard from you in a while~~~hope all is ok with your family too! :rose:

hmmmm not sure why the blog/article I linked about the neighbor has been deleted? Maybe a mod could advise.

To be clear, it was linked at the bottom of the article posted here https://www.sootoday.com/local-news/travelling-to-where-they-made-a-murderer-10-photos-293781 The writer is a freelance journalist from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario (which is actually not that far from Manitowoc).
