Found Alive France - Alex Batty, 11 from Oldham Uk, parental abduction, 2017 *found alive in France after walking in Mountains*

Alex’s mum won’t stay off the radar for much longer the way things are going…

Thanks for that. That is to be expected. JMO. I see in this article they've dug out another person to speak to who knew the mother and and the grandfather and saw him 2 weeks ago. MOO

It's my opinion that the Mother and the Grandfather are being protected by AB as so far the Grandfather being dead is no longer found to be true (see article attached) and so far no trace of mother in Finland. I think she will be hiding in France still. JMO MOO

I hope AB doesn't face any legal consequences for not having told the complete truth and/or for inventing some stuff, e.g. the grandfather's death, especially so if his mother and grandfather helped him come up with these stories in order to protect themselves.

I have been following Alex’es story here in Finland. The possibility of his mother being here was kind of unexpected - to put it mildly!

Yes, if she has got an UK passport and if she did enter Finland (EU) it should be very easy to trace her movements (after Brexit).

For Northern lights…? Travelling with solar panels as well…?

I don’t even know what to say apart from being very pleased to know that Alex is safe with her granny now x.

In 2021 he worked & lived for a while in a gîte of Belgian owners in France. There are pictures of him joining their family outings in this article. Sorry, it’s in Dutch.

I've read the couple's statement about Alex, being with them a lot and at lengths of time. He worked their gardens and cooked for his stay. He was well cared about by this lovely couple.. They offered to help him in any way they could to obtain his English passport, papers he needed as he wanted to go to school again, college.
He told them he'd find his own way. I think that was because he just wanted and thought he could do this on his own without drawing attention to his mother and grandfather.
He seems to have self educated himself as much as he could on the internet and absorbing all from others he knew. He's obviously a lovely and intelligent young man. I wish him all the best and I do believe as well, that he does not want any harm of any kind to come to his mother and grandfather. I can understand that.
He knows it was wrong of them to take him from his home with his grandmother as they did.
He wants a 'future' as he tells and the ability to do that was to obtain certain paperwork on himself to reach that goal. He may want to do that in France as I read or stay in England. He is def not fluent at all in French per others but enough that he could communicate somewhat. SO, probably stay in England but also to not cause legal problems for mother and grandfather.
SO glad for him and his grandmother. Wonderful that the right man picked him up walking as well. Helped him a lot and able to talk as 'mates' too.

The 17-year-old went on holiday with his mother and grandfather when he was 11. They had been seeking an off-the-grid and alternative life.

Batty's grandmother, who's his legal guardian, hadn't seen or heard from him since the trio's disappearance.

He's now home with his grandmother in a town called Oldham. Returning from a trip to the shops, Batty told the Telegraph: "I'm really sorry I can’t say much... but there's no doubt I'm happy to be home for Christmas."

The UK newspaper reports that, as Batty returned home, a dog ran through the front door and out into the street.

"Don't you go missing like Alex," the teen's grandmother yelled after it.

He was found by a delivery driver in remote southwestern France earlier this month. Batty was wandering at 3am in the rain by himself in a remote area with a skateboard tucked under his arm.

"I cannot begin to express my relief and happiness that Alex has been found safe and well," his grandmother said

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Sunday seized the vehicle and arrested the three accused-- Ashwajit Gaikwad , who is a senior bureaucrat's son, and his two associates, Romil Patil and Sagar Shedge --in the Thane run-over case in which a woman was badly injured.

The victim, Priya Singh , who alleged that her boyfriend, who is a senior bureaucrat's son, allegedly tried to mow her down with his car in Thane city, urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "justice" and claimed that on Saturday night policemen compelled her to sign something, but she refused.

I don't understand your two different links here.

Is it headline news in Finland at present?

well... a few tidbits here. And a bunch of 'pretty pictures'. One individual says Alex's mother is NOT in Finland. It is looking as if Alex's story has been fabricated by mom, granddad and Alex just about a week ago. My guess is that he is now quite worried about mom and granddad, and is regretting having been so chummy with the truck driver who picked him up.

Part of me wonders if some of this isn't miscommunication due to a language barrier (the first couple of articles mention that the delivery person had to switch from French to English to speak with Alex).

Another part of me wonders if it isn't some sort of attempt to profit from charitable contributions -- people do like to donate money when there is a cause or story that touches our hearts.

It's starting to feel a little like the Rudy Farias situation from this past summer (Found Alive - TX - Rudolph 'Rudy' Farias, 17, Houston, 6 March 2015 *found beaten and unresponsive in 2023*)

what the what? More confused now. Also some things I can't say of course, so I will respectfully sit on my hands and hope we do hear more and everyone is safe and healthy. I'm all for live and let live if you're not hurting anyone else and it's of one's own choosing.

Oh dear, it's all unravelling now. It seems Alex just wanted to see his Grandmother and get some ID to study. I don't think they could imagine the media storm that has happened. The group shot of the audience at the Green gathering - they are all sat on plastic chairs - seems a bit ironic. JMO MOO

It was just a thought that came to my head while catching up.
JMO. Maybe AB's identification genuinely was lost, and he had decided he wanted to go to school, so they cooked up a plan to do that without having to turn in his grandfather and mother.
From what has been revealed so far, I don't think he was hurt or abused in any way, so maybe he is spreading his wings. He is 17, nearly an official adult.
I am not suggesting that it was ok, for the grandfather and mother to have kidnapped him, I'm suggesting he was not harmed and has no reason to want to get them in trouble.
MOO.
