Large crowds had gathered outside court this morning for the hearing which comes at the midway point of a case that has made headlines around the world for its sordid nature.

Dressed as elegantly as ever Mrs Pelicot nodded to supporters and thanked one who gave her a good luck card as she made her way through the crowds to the courtroom.



Mrs Pelicot will be asked by trial judge Roger Arata for her views on the evidence heard so far and it comes as the latest batch of the 50 accused are grilled."

idk if the list is complete, I didn't count.

It's not just a name list, it includes at least a paragraph, usually more than one, on each perp and on what they said in court. Quite a number in denial, fully blaming Monsieur Pelicot (according to this article or the other Guardian one, Gisèle is no longer referring to him by his first name).
It mentions the case where Gisèle got up and left the room - during testimony by Vincent C, age 42. According to the article Gisèle appeared 'exasperated' as she left.

A few of the perps apologised to Gisèle. Hard to tell how sincere when you don't actually hear and see it but better than being in total denial, JMO. Still despicable behaviour towards Gisèle, JMO.

IMO she's both a very brave, courageous woman and she's strongly determined to change society. She may not feel her own bravery yet. I hope in time she can feel and believe it.

She's displaying her will and determination to change society. Apart from being brave, she also has great clarity. Doesn't seem to be allowing anyone to manipulate her into believing she might be responsible! Don't get me wrong, no way she's responsible, but sometimes victims of crime believe they are or can be pushed and gaslighted into believing it. JMO

Gisele also had three kids with DP.

From 2007 to 2010, when Pelicot accumulated a lot of debt on his cards and depleted accounts (he was very bad with money), they divorced to save some assets, and Gisele took over his finances (so, she was better than he, and no memory issues?) Later, they married again. It was only when he retired and they moved to Mazan, did Mr. Pelicot start his experiments.

I thought that he made the rapists pay, but not. He had homosexual relationships with some of them; others were paying in Lorazepam for future sedation of Gisele.

My impression: Mr. Pelicot was more interested in men, but in deep denial, or ashamed, and Gisele, by refusing threesomes and swinger activity, deprived Mr. Pelicot of a more “acceptable” way of exploring his interests.

But as long as she was working as a business manager at EDF and raising kids, she was more independent, and Dominique needed Gisele. She provided him with “appropriate coverage”.
France was far less liberal in the time of Mr. Pelicot’s youth. Add to it a very bourgeois social stratum the Pelicots belonged to, and the fact that Gisele was managing Pelicot’s money, and one can see how dependent on his wife DP was and how his resentment grew.

That he didn’t care about Gisele at all is obvious. But why use the word “to punish”? I think his resentment grew out of the fact that in years of his youth and attractiveness, he had to pretend, and now, when things are more acceptable, he is old and past his primes. Angry with the time and the situation, maybe, but taking it on Gisele and other women. (He could have killed some, too). Beats me, but I don’t see any interest in women even if he was making these photos. For others, it could be voyerism, for him, probably a pass to that subforum. And how this picture of two guys, awake in a room with a deeply sedated woman, looks to you?

Dallal's former partner told the court about dropping him off: 'When we arrived, I waited in the car, it was night and I don't remember how long we were there.

'He told me not to park directly outside the house but a little further away, I didn't ask him why we were there or what he was doing there, I didn't want to know.'

That partner's story sounds very sus to me.

So he admits that he took her to the truck stop with the intent of offering her up to be raped by strangers.
But, hey, don’t worry! Because he promises he didn’t, and just HE raped her at the truck stop.

I feel strongly that he will be convicted for the rapes that took place in the home.

But I feel even stronger that he also offered her up this way in other situations. Truck stops, on holiday, etc. I don’t think the abuse at home was the only situation.
