I think they all should have got much longer sentences.
"Five key takeaways
from Gisele Pelicot's statement.
View attachment 552737
- Madame Pelicot said she thought about her children and grandchildren when putting herself forward in the Monster of Avignon trial
- She thanked lawyers for their support, journalists for covering the trial and added witness statements and testimonials gave her strength when returning to court.
- Ms Pelicot insisted she never regretted her decision to waive her anonymity and said she did so to ensure 'society could see what was happening'
- She called for a future in which men and women 'can live together in harmony and mutual respect'
- In her final remarks she said she respected the court and its decision amid reports her children were disappointed by the length of some of the sentences handed down."

No.Would you all hate/ban me if I suggested that they may receive further punishment in prison?
Coward! Can't face up to his crime and the consequences thereof.I bet!
- Hassan Ouamou: Guilty of aggravated rape. Sentenced to 12 years. Currently on the run in Morocco and has told investigators he has no intention of returning to France.

It’s a really good question and the only one that comes to mind is Ambien. People sleep walk, sleep eat, and I have a friend who says it knocks her out so much she doesn’t ever remember anything in the night ever waking her up. But I’ve never taken it so I don’t know, but something for anxiety/sleep like Xanax could most certainly knock you out in high enough doses, but as you say it’s so incredibly dangerous.
Gisele, you are strong. You are brave. The world of women stand behind you.
The National Post in Canada named and briefly described each perpetrator. 'Mr. Everyman': Who are the 51 'ordinary' men convicted in France's mass rape trial? No.
But I suggest you're being overly optimistic on them receiving further punishment in prison given that the perps are a sample of French men of all ages, professions, cultural backgrounds etc.
Any rapist who remains free can rape other victims. Being in Morocco doesn't prevent that; being in prison would.Coward! Can't face up to his crime and the consequences thereof.
Maybe good if he does remain in Morocco, less burden on French tax-payer, and means he won't be let out in 12 years in France, or in fewer years for good behaviour. otoh who's to say he'll actually remain in Morocco...
Rape still happens in prisons. It is a control thing. Anywhere .Any rapist who remains free can rape other victims. Being in Morocco doesn't prevent that; being in prison would.
MOO
At least one year pro each rapist, DP had hired (70+) plus extra years for his own drugging/raping/manipulation I would have found approbiate.Apparently M. Pelicot did not expect to receive the maximum sentence of 20 years for his appalling crimes. I wonder just what he was expecting. No wonder he was sobbing, it's not that he is a man without pity, it's just all for himself. What an evil çowardly thing he is.
Totally agree but under the law 20 years is the maximum sentence that he could have receivedAt least one year pro each rapist, DP had hired (70+) plus extra years for his own drugging/raping/manipulation I would have found approbiate.
20 years seems to be ridiculously little to me.
