Stepfather beat her to death according to mother's lawyer.

RIP jolie petite fille.

And the mother happily covered up for him? What the hell is wrong with these women? I would have to be held off anyone who harmed a single hair on my boys' heads, and yet these women seem to think that the loss of their baby is nothing compared to the loss of their partner at the time. Unbelievable.

What a horrific way to die, it really doesn't bear thinking about. I would have loved to have had a little girl ..... yet some people seem to view them as disposable.

Here read the last line in this post? Investigators say one thing and mom's attorney says another, so who knows. Hopefully when baby Fi is found, then the cause will be evident.

so it sounds like he beat fiona to death the night before she was reported missing?

Tonight, after 24 hours in custody in Perpignan, the mother of Fiona went to confession and blames his companion bringing him one or more fatal blows on the eve of the declaration of the disappearance . Berkane Makhlouf came out tonight shortly after 6:00 p.m. local judicial police of the Pyrenees Orientales in handcuffs.

Fiona's mother confessed to police Wednesday in Perpignan that his daughter had died as a result of beatings by her boyfriend, Has to sources close to the investigation. Cécile Bud, which ensured until its girl disappeared in a park while she slept, told investigators that the girl had been buried near Clermont-Ferrand, has said his side his lawyer Gilles-Jean Portejoie outside the offices of the judicial police in Perpignan. According to the source close to the investigation, Fiona died under the blows received during a drunken night which was attended by five people in custody in this case. This event took place the day before or the day before before his supposed death on May 12, according to this source. For his part, Mr. Portejoie declined to say, despite the pressing questions of journalists, if it had designated his companion Berkane Makhlouf, also in custody in Perpignan, as the murderer. Fiona "accidentally died as a result of beatings she has not personally worn obviously" was limited to say the lawyer. Missy "was buried in the area of Clermont-Ferrand" has he added. He did not specify the place where the little 5 year old girl was buried. Hearing Cécile Bud were to continue during the night, has he added.

Some translated exerpts:

Despite Cecile's recreation of the events in the park, Cecile and girls were not in the park the day Cecile said Fiona went missing.

Another troubling element, a couple of days prior to Fiona's disappearance, Cecile and her companion did internet searches of past media reports about missing children.

The five people currently in custody had partied (drunk) the night before, or the night prior to that, Fiona supposedly disappeared.

Investigators believe something happened that night of the party. That the little girl could have died having absorbed Subatex, a substitution for heroin, during an evening with addicts.

This mother is just as responsible for her child's death. What is it with mothers that lie? Hope she is in jail for a very long time, if not for life! So sad. What a precious angel!

Oh no!

(What did her mother think, that this would all blow over? Where was the other child when this drunken party was taking place? What did they see? hear? What of the unborn child, gosh, imagine knowing that as your mother carried you she participated in the murder, and disposal, of your oldest sibling?
So what did the mother think? Now she accuses the man she allowed to accompany the younger child whilst they were being questioned of beating the older one to death. After this, they did a quick internet search on missing children, what did they look under "most convincing story"? The trip to the doctor- to buy some time?
Then, dispose of "the body", -geez!- and start lying.
Lie and lie and lie. Accuse, "abusers", at some point give birth.
Fiona's death must have been a horrible accident. A terrible event, when they drank too much and things got out of control. Very sad, I won't let that happen again. No, we will pass through the storm, and emerge as a happy little family. He won't tell, and I won't tell, and there is a new baby, we will have a new life, in a new town, and put murdering my beautiful innocent baby girl right behind us.

I hope she is never released. And that one day she truly sees what she is, and what she has done.

BBM: I would have a difficult time classifying the circumstances that led to this child's death (whatever they may be) an accident. Even if it was unintentional, negligent homicide is a more descriptive term than accident.
