I think it's likely some Sharia law is being practised in Muslim communities in Europe and the US, amongst Muslim communities who support that law. But I don't believe for a minute it is gaining any traction amongst non-Muslims.

In Germany some Muslim people were dressing up in police-like uniforms and going around bars and cafes, telling people not to drink a couple of months back. They were arrested and charged though.

Reports about muslim patrol groups 'enforcing sharia law' are common in certain areas in Britain, unfortunately.

What the heck is truthuncensored? Do you happen to have any MSM articles to back up this claim? TIA

If this claim were true, don't ya think we would be hearing about this on national news.

It is troubling that MSM chooses to ignore the issue.
However some people say no-go zones for muslims very much desired and were created 'to prevent racist attacks against muslims'

At least Fox news has reported this.

Britain
Murders and rapes going unreported in no-go zones for police as minority communities launch own justice systems

Sweden
55 no-go zones, controlled by muslim criminal gangs, Swedish police say

The real story is that the report is bogus. The satire magazine National Report made up a story and it has been passed along and embellished ever since.

I think the attack on Charlie Hebdo was an enforcement of Shari'ah law in a way.

I think that's hugely exaggerated. Its perfectly legal in Britain under the Arbitration Act for two parties to a civil dispute to opt out of the courts system and have their dispute mediated by an alternative of their choosing, as long as the results don't contradict British law. Alot of muslims make use of that and get their own imams to settle their disputes, but the tabloid press get hold of that and turn it into "Sharia law being enforced on Britain's streets", sensationalist nonsense.

Eeeh what? I was referring to incidents in the streets where muslim patrols stop other people from doing things like holding hands or drinking alcohol which they consider offensive to their ideology, because, as they put it, this is a sharia area now.

IT IS LAZY TO CLAIM THAT ATTACKS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ISLAM

'British muslims need to do more to tackle extremism' according to British first elected Muslim Cabinet minister

Daily Mail:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...lims-need-tackle-extremism-says-minister.html

Britain’s first elected Muslim Cabinet minister has said it is ‘lazy’ to claim Islam had nothing to do with last week’s terror attacks in France.

The former banker, who became the first Muslim Tory MP after being elected in 2010, attacked the ‘barbaric’ terrorists responsible for last week’s atrocities.

Mr Javid said: ‘The lazy answer from people out there is to say that this had got nothing whatsoever to do with Islam and Muslims and that should be the end of that part of the debate.

‘That is lazy and that would be wrong. You can’t get away from the fact that these people are using Islam, they are taking a great religion, a peaceful religion of a billion people around the world, taking this religion and using it as their tool to carry out their horrible activities.’

Mr Javid said because of this there was a ‘special burden’ on Muslims to deal with Islamic extremism.

He said: ‘All communities can do more to try and help and deal with terrorists, try and help track them down, but I think it is absolutely fair to say that there is a special burden on Muslim communities, because whether we like it or not, these terrorists call themselves Muslims.

‘It is no good for people to say they are not Muslims, that is what they call themselves. They do try to take what is a great peaceful religion and warp it for their own means.’

Maybe peaceful Muslims need to break off from the original religion to separate themselves from the crazies?

This statement by Mr Javid has given me hope.

THE failure of moderate Muslims to confront the jihadist elements within their faith has given rise to some uncomfortable questions that can no longer be ignored.

The overwhelming majority of Muslims around the world are a peaceful people but what are their attitudes to the extreme elements within their religion? Just how deep is the chasm between radical and moderate Islam?

The results of multiple polls and studies on global attitudes to extremist Islamist activity shows there is tolerance, and sometimes even support, of repellent behaviour that should be categorically condemned.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/stifling-debate-empowers-radicals/story-e6freuy9-1227181431349

Much longer article;

"The poll also showed that an equal number of Muslims were for and against the introduction of sharia law.

Shamefully, there are now attempts to enshrine elements of sharia law in the British legal system.

This pitiful attempt to appease the more radical or devout element of the Muslim community comes at a great cost — a civilised country tolerating backward and discriminatory practices."

I agree, we cannot allow this to happen, we have equal rights in our countries for good reason.

This might be one of the situations reported..

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-debate/the-unspeakable-truth-about-rotherham/article20335529/
"Amy was just one of at least 1,400 girls who were groomed and raped over two decades in Rotherham, a grim postindustrial town in northern England. Most of the victims were working-class. They were typically 12 to 14 when they were lured into a life of drugs, alcohol and abuse. Nearly all the abusers were Muslim men of Pakistani origin.

Britain has had more than its share of sex scandals lately. But this one is by far the most disturbing. It has shaken the country to the core, and prompted searching questions about the role of “cultural sensitivity” in covering up the abuse. And it has raised wider issues about Muslim integration into British life.

“Men of Pakistani heritage treated white girls like toilet paper,” columnist Allison Pearson wrote in The Telegraph. But authorities tried to bury the problem because they were afraid of being labelled racist, or that it might cost them votes. Front-line workers who tried to get police and bureaucrats to act were repeatedly harassed and intimidated. One researcher who had gathered extensive evidence was told she must “never, ever” refer to the ethnicity of the abusers. Her report was suppressed, and she was sent on a diversity course.

But now, the truth is impossible to ignore. A damning independent report, released last week, has confirmed all this and more. It identifies a “deep-rooted problem of Pakistani-heritage perpetrators targeting young white girls"

Wow, I had no idea about this. Horrifying.

This sounds like an intelligent & reasonable person. I do wish there were more Muslims like him. Until the good Muslims make a firm stand against the terrorists there is not much hope.

I have traveled myself in muslim countries, particularly in Egypt in couple of times, they are very welcoming and warm at times.
A local man told me, how hard it is for young men, by muslim laws they are not allowed to have girlfriends.
Basically western style dating not allowed at all. Then when they wish to marry someone they need to pay huge sums to woman's family ... in gold. This is assurance they will be able to provide for family since women rarely work there. Women are pretty much hidden at homes and behind veils.

I don't deny either that many muslims have very hard lives, they are illiterate, they are poor, bombs exploding all the time, there are wars and political turmoil.

Some muslim countries are however oil rich like Emirates or Qatar, seems they are not doing much for poor countries in the region, because everyone has their own agenda to advance.
Of course some people take religion very seriously there, pray 5 times a day while others not so much.
In Egypt a guy told me to read Quran which I found offensive. I told him its in foreign language, in Arabic, which I don't understand.
I did tell him perhaps he wanted to read nice things in the Bible ,like how Jesus changed water into wine, (alcohol is banned in muslim countries) which did anger him a bit.
Next day I was surprised by Christmas present however, by tiny Santa, since it was Christmas.
It was his way to show some tolrance, I guess.

It was someone who worked at hotel.

I guess it's just wise to avoid certain subjects, like whole Israel-Palestine dilemma etc

[h=1]Mourad Hamyd, 18, released without charge by police over Charlie Hebdo shooting[/h]
MOURAD Hamyd describes himself as a normal 18-year-old who lives with his parents, but on the day France was gripped by the Charlie Hebdo massacre, he became known as “the third suspect” — even though he was in class at the time of the shooting.

The brother-in-law of one of the two gunmen turned himself in to police on Wednesday, horrified and baffled to hear his name circulating in the news and on social media.
