Hayat Boumeddiene, widow and co-conspirator of Amedy Coulibaly, the terrorist who shot and killed four people at the Hyper Cacher kosher supermarket in Paris, has surfaced in territory held by the Islamic State, the Iraq and Syria based group said.

An interview in the latest issue of Dar al Islam, the Islamic State's French-language magazine, says that Boumeddiene is safely in ISIS-controlled areas.

“"I did not encounter any difficulties” in getting out of France and into ISIS-controlled areas, she said, according to English-language European media. “It is good to live in the land that is governed by the laws of God,” she was quoted as saying.

Currently France's Most Wanted Criminal, authorities have been seeking Boumeddiene as an accomplice in the Hyper Cacher murders on January 9, as well as in the murder of a police officer in Paris the day before.

Danish police wouldnt confirm yet, if Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks who was also participating, was in fact the target. Likely he was. They say incident being investigated as terrorist act.
Vilks was there with couple of bodyguards, he hid in cold storage room, when shooting began.
So they were prepared.
Gunmen are at large in capital of Denmark, they wore black and spoke Danish.

Lars Vilks is a constant subject of threats, he had to hire bodyguards, it is a shame its happening in Europe.

The French ambassdor to Denmark told AFP from inside the venue that shots rang out in the midst of a debate on Islam and free speech in Copenhagen.

"They fired on us from the outside. It was the same intention as [the January 7 attack on] Charlie Hebdo except they didn't manage to get in," Francois Zimeray said by telephone.

Swedish artist Lars Vilks, the author of controversial Prophet Mohammed cartoons published in 2007 that sparked worldwide protests, was also at the debate.

Three police officers were reported wounded outside the building, Danish media reported, quoting eyewitnesses.

Zimeray said earlier on Twitter that he was not harmed.
"Intuitively I would say there were at least 50 gunshots, and the police here are saying 200," he told AFP.
"Bullets went through the doors and everyone threw themselves to the floor. We managed to flee the room, and now we're staying inside because it's still dangerous. The attackers haven't been caught and they could very well still be in the neighbourhood."

“Male, 25-30 years old, around 185cm tall, athletic build with an Arabic appearance but with lighter skin than normal and with black, slick hair. He was wearing a black or dark blue ski coat with matching pants and presumably gloves. He had covered the bottom part of his face all the way up to the eyes with a guerrilla scarf in yellow/orange and red.”

“He had a black black machine gun/machine rifle. Witnesses described it as 90-100cm long, completely black and plastic-looking.”

There are two suspects, one shooter. The fled in a car. The car has been located.

i ran away with some people though the back door, didn't see anything, heard 20 shots at the entrance to the building of our panel
with me at the room there was Lars Vilks, french ambassador and dozens people from the audience
i didn't see anything, i heard around 20 shots while speaking and then people started to run
i didn't see anything, we just heard shots behind the door the panel took place in.
i am not sure what was that, i don't know what we heard but everybody was running

the event we were at was protected by police. They were at the entrance of the building. as it is reported now, some of them were shot

A suspected gunman has been shot dead by police after two people were killed in shootings at a cafe and a synagogue in Copenhagen, sparking a huge manhunt in the Danish capital.

Police say the man they killed on Sunday morning is believed to have been the shooter. The Danish prime minister, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, praised officers and condemned what she called “a cynical act of terror” that put Copenhagen on high alert.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, police shot dead a suspect who had arrived at an inner-city address they had under surveillance. Officers described the deceased man as “a person who could be interesting in relation to the investigation”. They said after police called out to him near a train station in the inner-city neighbourhood of Nørrebro “he opened fire against the police and was thereafter shot.”

The person killed at the synagogue was described as a young community member who had been guarding the door at a bar mitzvah – a coming-of-age ceremony. :rose:
The shooter is believed to have acted alone.


Somehow this sounds like a copy-cat to me, someone very young who never got through doors and stayed in the area, much unlike the the brothers Kouachi and Coulibaly who looked and acted as 'professionals'.
This is chilling because it assumes that the barrier to entry as a terrorist is really low.
