I know, it's so.....believable. I mean, nothing suspicious there. I'm sure he told them where she was happily living and they went to talk to her....except he didn't.

Uhm, as WebSleuths, do we really need to know anything else?

Book 'em, Danno!

Too late for this young lady & her family, unfortunately. Wonder why the ball was apparently dropped?

How tragic for her and her family. I wonder if she has been considered for any UIDs found in New Mexico over the years.
IMO it would be a good idea to search any yards or land owned by JK back then, using today's searching technology.

Kimmel is identified as a heavy equipment operator.

Now I can't specifically point to any Albuquerque buildings under construction in 1964 -- but sadly I am afraid you'd have to look under one.

Plenty of Federal money went to universities that year, and hospitals were always building -- where did this guy work???

UNM is a good-sized campus. I sorted on Year Built, several candidates:

List of University of New Mexico buildings - Wikipedia

The Pit (basketball arena) is a biiiiig structure, opened in 1966.

Obviously I have no idea what Kimmel was operating or where, I just have family in New Mexico and get lots of exercise jumping to conclusions.

Jester Ray Kimmel died in 2013 (or 2014 - there are two records on Ancestry with the same information including day and month, but one year difference - one was mistranscribed). Unfortunately this means little chance of further progress.

Bumping for Frances. We won't forget this case.

Moving Frances' case back up. It sounds like we could also consider Colorado cases for her, right?
