Quoting Yellowsubmarine: Why buy something at the first one?

Exactly, why? Her kid is sick, and I need to check if there are other possible pharmacies to get baby meds between the 1st FM and the 2nd one. If my kid is freaking or in pain, I would go to the closest available store to get the meds, even corner stores carry baby Motrin and Tylenol. FM was a meeting spot, I'm sure now. Why go to FM? and park so far from the entrance? with a sick kid? and have to take the kid in and out of a car seat (which I'm sure any sick baby would thoroughly hate and really cause a fuss). I do remember the recall on baby meds but I would chance a corner store carrying it versus a bigbox type of place. JMO

I think that the approximate place Terri supposedly parked at the Imbrie Fred Meyer's can be seen in this photo:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t166/ubrmel/Fred Meyer at Imbrie Drive/fmimbrie3.jpg

Where the black truck is parked on the far right side of the photo, in the spot behind the truck. The next aisle beyond the white coupe with the black top. That is where I think the Sheriff is indicating that she parked.

Also, the Sheriff photos must have used a wide angle lens, because its making it look like the parking lots are huge and that the car was parked miles away from the front of the store. But, if you count, its only about 13 spaces or so from the front of the store. And 1 aisle to the right of the center of the store. Doesn't seem like that far away, in my opinion.

IMO, I would not be surprised if she did park away from other cars. She was driving the truck not her car. If you are not used to driving those big trucks, parking is especially difficult. Usually you either have to deal with a longer front end or a longer back in but with those trucks, you have both. The newer lots also make the spaces smaller than they used to. So getting into a parking space or more importantly out of the space can be very time consuming.

Once I borrowed my brother's truck, quad cab long bed. It took me a good half hour to find a parking space that I could get into. It was a combination of me not being used to driving the truck, extremely small parking spaces and cars parking too close to the lines on both sides. I finally did get it parked but when I came back, another car had parked next to me, too close to the line. There was no way I could get that truck out. My neice's husband made his comments about "women drivers" as he got in the truck to pull it out. My neice and I laughed and laughed and made comments about "men drivers" as he pulled back and forth and back and forth and made comments about me parking there...LOL Finally, another guy had seen what was going on...or heard us laughing. He came over, pulled his car out so we could pull straight back into his space to get out.

So TH parking farther away from the store in a truck she is not used to driving is not suspicious at all.

I was always one of those people who had certain stores I would shop at and others I would NEVER set foot in. Then I had certain items I bought at certain stores and never thought of going to another store for that item. I also have certain things that I will only buy brand name and others that I don't care. If I was in another store and saw something I needed, I would pick it up but never think of going there to buy it. I learned my way of shopping from going with my Mom when I was little.

Mostly it is that I just prefer certain stores because of pricing and brands. However, another reason is that the stores tend to be set up the same way. A new store means having to search for what I want. I hate shopping. So I would rather drive to a store I know then spend time in a store I don't.

IMO, TH going to 2 different FM's is suspicous to those who would NEVER do that but not to those who do it all the time. It just depends on the person.

Looks like it's near the garden center which in most box stores has its own entrance. The Pharmacy and the Health & Beauty aisles, including OTCs, are often adjacent to the garden center, too. This parking spot may have actually facilitated the errand TH claims she was running with the added benefit of pulling through one spot to another for ease in parking the big truck and not having to reverse when leaving.

Your post prompted a thought in my head. What if the meeting spot was supposed to be FM and someone got their signals crossed as to which store? Just tossing that out there for the lions den.

P.S. There are many other stores between the two FM locations that carry earache/teething/cold/calming medicines but as many have pointed out, maybe TH (or Baby) liked the FM store brand for whatever reason.

if TH had a receipt marked 0912 (if we are to believe her email)

yet (if we again are to believe her email) that the first store didn't have the medicine so she than went to a second store where she bumps into the gym person why doesn't she have a receipt for that store and how long would it take for her to get from the first store (0912 receipt) to the other one... could she have been bumping into this person 15 minutes later?

I just don't buy any of TH's concoctions in her email.

further eta: could TH have made a trip to the gym because she saw the gym person in the store??? to cover her tracks, etc? perhaps thinking... I saw her in the store and I need to keep up the normal routine, etc.

Last week I went to Target intent on buying a new day planner and some Tylenol Sinus. FWIW, I have migraines and lesser headaches, and Tylenol Sinus is the only medicine that gets rid of my lesser headaches. I picked up the day planner, but the pharmacy was out of Tylenol Sinus. There is a reason why Tylenol Sinus and medicine like it has been pulled from the shelves (a lot of people use those types of medicines to make meth, so you have to buy the OTC medicines like Tylenol Sinus from the pharmacy), and so I briefly spoke to the pharmacist who instructed me about what was closest to the Tylenol Sinus. I picked up the off brand that was closest to Tylenol Sinus, but it wasn't really what I wanted. Still, I was desperate. When I got to the register, the day planner rang up for more than it was advertised. Someone had to do a price check. I waited and waited, the employee suspended my transaction. Finally, another employee figured out the price of my day planner. I went to another register to pay, but by that time, someone had picked up the bag with my off brand medicine in it. Since it wasn't what I wanted anyway, I told the employee to void it from my transaction, and I bought the day planner and a Diet Mountain Dew. Walmart is close by, but I would rather walk barefoot over broken glass than go to Walmart, so I went to a store farther away to find my precious Tylenol Sinus.

Some people are pretty loyal to the stores at which they shop. I refuse to shop at Walmart. I only shop at Target. I will go out of my way to go to Target as opposed to Walmart. And sometimes, convoluted things like a simple trip to Target for a day planner and Tylenol Sinus do happen.

What's important to me is that Terri was where she claimed to be from the first day, she was there for the reasons she gave on the first day, and someone she knew saw her and claimed she was acting normal.

Sorry if this is a repeat, but I thought I'd throw in that most Fred Meyers have health food section--not just a "natural products" aisle, but like a mini natural foods store, with bulk food, health and beauty aids, eco cleaning products, and vitamins and naturopathic remedies, etc. It could be that TH was looking for a certain kind of natural remedy for Baby K.

I may have already asked this somewhere I don't remember. Is it possible that this "medicine" was a prescription called in from the doctor to Fred Meyers and when she went to pick it up they were out so that's why she went to the other Fred Meyers?

if it was an RX med, does the FM have a drive thru pharmacy? If so, you would think that would be more logical for her to use that instead. But we don't have any idea what type of medicine she allegedly was looking for. My question however tonight is this:
Do any of you locals know if there was a dumpster nearby where TH allegedly parked that day? I mean I'm sure she didn't dump Kyron's body in it in broad day light (and I hate to even type that out, I hate to think that he is actually dead, I pray every day that he is still alive and am hopeful he will return safe). But I'm wondering if she could have tried to dispose of any evidence in a dumpster there. Is there a recycling bin nearby or garbage dumpster? I couldn't tell from the photos but it didn't appear to be so. Also could she have been picking something up that someone left there near the wall (no idea what it could be, just wildly speculating now- maybe one of those "bat phones"- maybe someone left a cell phone for her to retrieve in which further instructions would be given if she were selling him off to someone possibly or being blackmailed??) I'm sorry- I tend to ramble VERY BADLY and don't make sense even half the time, lol. I think out loud often, but I figure any wild theory/random thought in this case could potentially be something. This case is crazy.

No drive through pharmacy for either FM store. There would be dumpsters in the back of the store but not where she "supposedly" parked. There is something in this photo that I took the other day along the stone wall at the FM on Walker. I was going to go back out and take a closer look at it but didn't quite get around to it yet. Maybe tomorrow?? Doesn't look like a dumpster though. Could it be some sort of landscape control area. ::Smacking forehead:: There's that landscape word again! ROFL

I agree with walking through glass other than going to Walmart! I can't stand Walmart! However,
We don't know for fact that Terri was everywhere she claimed to be from the first day, nor that she was anywhere for the reasons she stated.. Until LE comes out and says that her time line has checked out, I have no other reason but to suspect that something is off.
What is truly sad about this case is that some people can appear to be so normal...yet in the backgrounds, they are plotting to have their husband killed. :banghead: Where is Kyron?

The only things verifiable would be 1) Kyron went to school that am to pose near his project (I hope it was that am) for the pic TH showed to everyone. 2) AL claimed she saw TH @ FM between 9:30 and 10:00 - not sure which FM's (1st or 2nd) I haven't checked if one is closer to a Border's. 3) Kyron was not mentioned as being with TH @ the FM 9:30 - 10 sighting @ FM.

Perhaps Terri/Baby are partial to one particular brand/flavor of baby
acetaminophen-- Fred Meyers store brand grape, for example. When you know a baby prefers one medicine, you generally will buy that one. If the first FM was out of the favorite, you would go to another one to seek it.
And I believe that there has been a recent recall of Tylenol, with resulting spot shortages of store brands of all kinds.
w

This is true. It will come out eventually what was bought at the first FM and what was bought at the second.

Pulling this over from the Interview with GJ Witness thread. I wanted to comment on this but wasn't sure where it belonged. Hoping this is the right thread for it!

Free, you mentioned you went down Evergreen between the two stores. I think that's a natural way to go towards her gym too. But for me personally, I would have jumped on Highway 26 since it's so close to the Imbrie location and then exited on Bethany/Cornell to get to her gym. I try to stick to the highway as much as possible because I hate stop lights. At the time of day she would be traveling (around 9:15-10:00am) on a Friday morning, the traffic on 26 would be settled down by then. As for stores, the ones you mentioned above would be good choices. I'm a Target gal and probably go to one of three stores several times/week. But I don't think of Target for meds. Instead, I probably would have gone to Rite Aid which is right next to Safeway in Tannasbourne. I guess we can speculate all different possible routes and stores. Maybe she was looking for a specific Fred Meyer brand that had worked for the Baby before?

Also, I hear ya on trying to remain objective. It's been really, really hard for me. Sitting on my hands alot! ;)

This has been bothering me, too. I just think it's pretty darn impossible to leave the school at 9:00, having a baby to get in and out of the car twice, driving to FM, doing her shopping and presumably asking for a clerks help since she says they didn't have the med she wanted, AND checking out by 9:12. IMO, not at all possible.

The email was sent 6/5. Later statements - I know one from her mom and I think one from her - is where she says 8:45. Sooooo, I'm wondering if after the fact, she realized 9:00 just didn't make sense, so she changed the time she left the school.

Something else I've been pondering . . . . Her claiming she has a receipt proving she was "checking out at FM 7 mi away at 9:12" is odd and almost scripted, as if she already had a plan to show she was there at that time. I also don't believe the 1st FM didn't have the otc med she wanted. IMO, she had a reason to show she was at the 1st FM at 9:12 and she had a reason to go to both. I'm wondering if DS may have gone to the 1st one and not TH, posing as TH to give her an alibi?

ETA: Going off Matou's post regarding TH buying something at the first FM -- I forgot to mention that originally. This was another reason I found the whole going to two FM's odd. She has a sick baby and the store doesn't have the med she wants. She's probably already decided to go to another location to get the med so why buy something at the first one? It just proves even more that she needed to show she was at this FM at 9:12.

I know. It appears as if she was in a big hurry. Also, I have to wonder why the need to go to two FMs? I am aware of what TH has said about going to two FMs, but it doesn't set right with me. In time, we will learn what was bought at both FMs and who did the buying (per video recordings).

If a child medicine was not purchased at the second FM, then why not look for it at a Walgreen's or other pharmacy? This timeline has me discombobulated.

IMHO, I don't hink TH thought she would be having to answer these questions. IMO, she believed it would all focus on Kyron being abducted from the school.

It's all become so complicated, I can't even keep track anymore. The surest of signs, in my opinion, that lies are spewing right and left.

FWIW, Walgreens has called their other stores when a med I'm looking for is out of stock.

There is only one Borders on the NW side of Portland. It's on Cedar Hills Blvd and would be closest to the Second FM location on Walker Road.

Not sure if anyone is still interested in the parking lot at FM? But I happened to be over there today and snapped just a few quick pictures. I believe Dorothy already mentioned she didn't see any video cameras on the outside of the building. I didn't see any either but wondered if they might be up above the entrance. (see photo #1 in the album) It was hard to see at the angle from below. Plus, the white mesh thing makes it hard to determine what's up there. Probably not cameras but I snapped a picture anyway. I also took a picture of the distance standing on the stone wall she "allegedly' parked and another one showing how few cars park along that wall. My visit was at 1:00pm during a semi busy time of day for them. I would bet those parked on the wall were employee cars. JMO

WOW, I saved your photo and used the editor to brighten it up and enlarge it to see what you were talking about and I see that "bin thing" too. What the heck is that ? A covered vertical drainage pipe? I can't tell what that thing IS! It kind of bothers me though. Are you still planning on going back to it and getting a better look? That might look odd snooping around that thing though, LOL. It sure has me curious though and if it had anything to do with TH that day. How close is that contraption compared to where TH allegedly parked?

My husband is a Master plumber. He's not home right now, but I will ask him when he gets back - but, it looks to me like it is an access portal or vent to probably some sort of water line or sewage line. It looks like there are houses up further up the slope?

BBM
That's what I thought too!
Looking at Bing Maps "Bird's Eye View" it seems that Walker RD is at the top of that slope and the roofs are buildings across the street.

Am I looking at this map the right way loves2bmom?
