On one of the phone calls Casey asked Lee if he had checked through the bags and purses at the house, my guess is that those items that she left there were retrieved and probably also the soil sample for comparison. I am hoping the forensics came in last night or this morning so they know what needs additional testing. Hopefully more info will be available soon but with the recent activity there must be some break or new info in the case. Hopefully that's not wishful thinking on my part!!

Might be a stroller, or something else she used to carry/push the body to dump it?

I hate thinking so morbidly, but that's my guess.

FNC on the ground reporters saying it was definitely dirt taken from the yard today. They dug down but not looking for anything and took dirt.

I don't like this.....

why on earth didn't they take sufficient dirt samples when they first searched the yard???

Unless they need a whole lot more so they can send it off to various labs for multiple testing & backup results?

I'm guessing maybe they either dug a different spot or down deeper? Maybe they found additional evidence somewhere else and are now showing that that was NOT in the yard, so they needed more dirt or dirt from elsewhere if the initial dirt was taken to match with the shovel and the car samples? I don't know obviously, just trying to think of possibilities.

It's possible the grandparents took the car seat out of the car before LE took the car. I think they took the car on the 17th of July, but don't hold me to that date!

I posted this in 'general discussion,' but it's probably better for it to be here ...

Perhaps the larger evidence bag held a ladder for the deep end of a pool.

It really didn't look long enough to be a ladder.

I still find the timing VERY curious....

CSI shows up the day after the FBI sat down with the Anthonys.... only stay for 5 short minutes.

I can't help but wonder if this is all a ploy they came up with to shake up Casey & see if THAT gets her to see that her parents are cooperating with her 'enemy' & maybe not believing her anymore.

I was just thinking that ladders at the deep end sometimes have only two or three steps, and a curved portion on the top. Just a theory.

Addl, Clothes, shoes, personal items. Someone also mentioned small luggage, car seat for evidence matches/What's CSI? No ploy involved. ALL they do is related directly to the missing case.

CSI = Crime Scene Investigation.... working with police & FBI.

I know I'm only speculating BUT if the FBI has determined that it is impossible to move forward in this case... they might have sat everyone down & agreed upon a Plan B

1) Make Casey feel like she is becoming more & more alienated from everyone

2) Announce that the parents met with FBI for 6 hours!

3) Make Casey think LE is getting very close AND that her family is cooperating... even letting CSI police take MORE evidence from the house after all this time.

I think the bag some are saying could be a carseat is in fact, the bag with the dirt in it. Dirt is heavy, and depending on the amount inside, will cause the bag to sag... just like it is. The "shape" the bag seems to be in is simply the stiffnes of the upper portion of the bag.

Taking this over from the general discussion thread. Tracy1 surmised that a car seat was in one of the bags. Sure looks like it to me, too.

What I question, though, is this:

where was the car seat?
why was it not in the car that LE confiscated?

My daughter has the same Eddie Bauer carseat that Caylee is photographed in, and let me tell you, it would NOT fit in that bag. It's huge.

I'm wondering if Casey had placed something in the shed that was related to what happened to Caylee. She could have came back to retreive whatever it was, and made it look like the shed had been broken into. Casey may not have really needed the gas, but wanted it to look like a break in.

Didn't LE state the carseat was in the car and showed nothing?? This would have come out around the time the car was being checked out. I remember thinking it was odd the seat was still there and wasn't put in Amy's car when Casey borrowed it... But, regardless, they may have used more than one carseat...

ok -- here's the media link about the carseat
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/community/news/conway/orl-caylee2008jul20,0,2486087.story

and the specific blip:

"Details on what kind of clues the car holds were not available, but Padilla said a child's car seat was found in the Pontiac."

I'm not sure right now if it was ever said the seat was ok / nothing showed on it, though.

One of the bags does look like it has a small piece of luggage or a backpack inside.

I have 3 carseats for my son and now 2 booster seats as well. I'm sure they had more than one carseat for Caylee, one of Mom's car and one for G Mom's.

Bags removed by crime-scene investigators from the home of the grandparents of a missing Orlando girl contained gasoline cans that will apparently be fingerprinted, WKMG-TV reported.
...The gas cans -- once believed to have been inside the trunk of a car owned by Caylee's mother -- have already been scrutinized by forensic technicians.

If the bags removed did contain gasoline cans that were in her car when George picked it up from the tow yard, wouldn't that mean: 1) George instantly would know that it was Casey that broke into the shed? (Later, he claimed it was "solved" by neighborhood kid.) 2) George knowingly removed those and put them back into the shed himself without calling LE or informing them of their "return" after filing a police report on the burglary? 3) George tampered with evidence in the trunk of the car?

I don't think I recall George saying it was "solved by a neighborhood kid'. He never said who...just somebody. On removing the cans, yeppers seems like tampering to me, but they had the car before they had Casey or realized Caylee was truly misssing.

Somebody asked why when the car was found and the Cindy and George saw the purse etc, why they didn't report this to police, esp if such an odor were coming from the car. That' was a good question!

Did the car really not smell as bad as reported or was Cindy talking to Casey as she said she was...therefore she knew Casey was ok and thought Casey was only being a turd and staying away and keeping their grandbaby from them? *shrug*

Can't make heads or tails in this case much at all.
