UPDATE: Police searching for potentially armed subject on the campus of Florida State University
''UPDATE: 1:10 p.m.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - According to Florida State University Police, FDLE executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Hayden Drive when a male suspect jumped from a second story window. Police tell us the suspect then ran in the direction of Stadium Drive on foot.

Lt. John Baker of FSUPD tells us that is why the first alert was sent out in the first place.

When FDLE was inside the apartment in question, they did find a firearm. Officers do not know if the suspect who jumped out of the window has a firearm on him. FSUPD wanted to be safe, so they included that the suspect is potentially armed and could be heading toward Stadium Drive.

The suspect is still at large, but FSUPD says the situation is "under control." The suspect is said to be wearing shorts with no shirt.

This is a developing situation, and WCTV has crews on the campus working to learn more information.''

Florida State University halts 'dangerous situation' alert for campus
''1:30 p.m. update: Florida State University police now say the campus can resume normal operations, but ask people to "remain vigilant" following an alert of a possible armed man heading toward campus.

State agents were executing a search warrant earlier this morning in the 400 block of Hayden Road, when the suspect escaped from a window and fled the scene, causing a pursuit, police said.

The suspect had not been captured as of 1:20 p.m., according to FSUPD spokesman Lt. John Baker. Law enforcement remains in the area of Stadium Drive, from the football field north, Baker said.

“We don’t know if he ever came near campus,” Baker said. “We just wanted people to be alerted. There was a likelihood he had a firearm.”
