I feel almost like I knew the boys. The teachers spoke of them so lovingly.

Such sweet little fellas. So smart too.

RIP sweet peas,
fran

I wonder if any of the Powells will be attending? If so, I hope that they can keep it respectfully peaceful and keep the focus on the legacy of the boys.

Someone from MSM tweeted that Alina and Teri (JP's sister and mother) walked in together thru a door that was blocked them from media.

HTH.

O/T Interesting that the boys were only 1 month away from turning 3 & 5 years old when all this started happening in 2009.

I have very vivid memories from age 3. My mother cheated on my father and was with her while my mother was working during the day and I told on him, not realizing what I was doing.

I think a 3 yr. old and especially a 5 yr. old can remember traumatic events, so whatever they were starting to tell should be taken as fact - not rambling.

Isn't he the one who said that he thought this was and admission of guilt by Josh in the death of Susan?

Yes. He initially tried to stand by him and support him but over time, when it became clear that he was hiding something and treating Susan with disrespect in the media, his support was withdrawn. His wife is very estranged from the rest of her family. They wanted to adopt Charlie and Braden if their father went to prison.

I am confused by the religious aspect of this. I know the Cox's are mormon, but were the Powell's? Was Josh supposed to be mormon? tia

Good observation, Karen. You just made me have a memory, too. I was one month from turning 3 when my mother was in the hospital having my sister (a concept I didn't understand and no one explained to me -- it was the 1950's). My father had a woman friend come over who was very flirty, and I did not like her! She was at our house making us dinner, and I remember screaming and crying hysterically because I did not want that woman to be my new mother. I knew something was going on and my mother was not there. I remember that to this day so you are so right that Braden could very well remember his mother being in the trunk. The memory is also strongest when it involves a parent, I think, because they are our only source of nurturance and protection.

From what I understand he had fallen away from Mormonism and said very negative things about it

For those of us total idiots who thought the service was at 1 :banghead:, if anyone finds a replay of the full service, could they please post the link?

Thanks.

I have posted only once since these wonderful boys were so viciously murdered because I just have no words.

Today I say, "Rest in peace, sweet angels, and fly through the Heavens with your new wings. You are now safe from all pain and harm, reunited with your beautiful Mother, Susan."

To the Cox family: I admire your strength and courage. May you be comforted in knowing that many people love and respect you. Your precious grandsons and daughter are loved by so many. You have my deepest sympathy.

Well, thank you DLT. Sometimes I am afraid to post all my opinions. I know I probably get on people's nerves, but it this forum is such a great way to express how you are feeling.

I totally agree about the parent thing. Like you, I didn't realize what "was" going on, but I knew something was not "right". I think kids should not be so dismissed. They are so much smarter than we give them credit for and are amazingly sensitive to trauma.

I sometimes feel like Charlie and Braden were probably dismissed because of their ages.

Beautiful service. Charlie and Braden were amazing boys. Their teachers really effectively painted pictures of them so that you feel like you know them.

RIP Susan, Charlie and Braden

Susan is skinny skinny here. This looks like about the age the boys were when she went missing.

I wonder if this is one of the last pictures and if she had lost a lot of weight due to stress.

I'll tell you one thing...Susan was gorgeous. How in he world did Josh get her?

The boys look just like her. Beautiful.

Imagine what the other children in the family must think, Charlie and Braden's cousins. I hope they don't think it could happen to them. They will probably need psychological counseling. So sad!

I am glad the motorcycle groups decided to do their protection thing. It seems like when they show up, the protestors don't.

I am also glad that the Powell's showed up, I wondered if they would. I had a feeling like it would be ok with the Cox's. Both families suffered this loss, both families needed to grieve.

I was thinking today about the P family's statement that they were going to hold off on JP's funeral until after the boys funeral. How much you want to bet that the P family will arrange a burial in the same cemetary that the boys are placed?

If they wait until after the boys are interred, then there is no danger that the Cox's will move the boys to another cemetary.

I was actually hoping that they bought several plots around the boys... for Chuck, Judy, Susan...
That way the boys would be surrounded by those family members.
Then even if the Powell's went there, they couldn't be right next to the boys...
