It is their job to ask questions and try to find Caylee. It doesn't have to be done in the manner that it was done. In fact , they blew it. Now they can't even talk to her.

But she can speak anytime she wants. So why doesn't she?

You're playing with a sociopath (IMO)...that's exactly what they want you to do. They have complete faith in knowing they they are smarter than everyone else. Casey did not tell the truth because she didn't want to...plain and simple. To expect her to respond to "niceties" and reveal the truth would be your undoing. JMHO

You said it! I have a little experience with interviews and handling professional pathological liars and that is the last thing you do. Rewarding someone for telling a "half-truth" is dangerous - it just lets them know they can play you.

And while sociopaths think they are the "smartest person in the room", to treat them as if they are is simply foolish - they keep manipulating you and don't get frustrated (which is where they make their big mistakes).

I actually agree with this. I do think that if the police spoke to her and handled her in a different fashion, they could have garnered more pertinent information. Her mind working against her inconsistent statements would have caught her up and ultimately hung herself without the drag on case that it became. Because of the way it was handled in the beginning, by everyone not just Cindy & George, it became a high profile money making case for all involved. Hell, Nancy Grace started airing every single night after her reporting on Caylee. CNN made HUGE profits, I'm sure. Good for them b/c they were the only one's keeping it out there like that, attempting to find Caylee with the thought that she was missing...I mean just sayin'. I believe that if it were the FBI instead of the OCSO interrogating Casey, they would have had the knowledge to approach her in a different manner. I wouldn't go so far as to say OCSO made a mistake the way the questioned her in the beginning, just that knowledge is in hindsight now & would probably learn from this and handle it differently in the future. I, for one, applaud them for not wringing her scrawny neck for the goosechase she led them on. I personally believe suspects should be given injections before they are questioned, so that they're guard is down and LE can get to the heart of the matter alot faster than sifting through tons of obvious lies.

I think the reason they were so aggressive was that they were looking for Caylee and had no idea what kind of danger she was in and they needed KC to break FAST. You would think the MOTHER OF THE YEAR would have WANTED LE to find Cayle and told the truth. Only the killer and a guilty party would have a reason to lie. I was so surprised they were not more thrreatening. The fact that KC was not afraid or emotional during this questioning proves what an evil cold person she really is.

I don't see how people who coddled KC with sweetness and light got anywhere. I mean, her parents treated her with kid gloves and walked on eggshells for years and where did it get them? Their sweet little granddaughter is gone and their daughter ended up in jail eating junk food and refusing to talk. To expect LE to do the same and expect different results is the very definition of insanity.

Caylee was already "missing" for 31 days. KC had plenty of time to report a kidnapping or accident in 31 days nobody and I repeat NOBODY knew except KC. KC never wanted Caylee in the first place. I think that is why they lied when they went to Ricks wedding, if KC had put Caylee up for adoption they still would have sworn that KC had never been pregnant but CA made KC keep Caylee. Caylee was dead at the hands of her own mother KC. That is the only reason KC and the rest of the A's lie. They have all been stupid because it just makes KC look that much more guilty. No LE is not at fault at all for Caylee's death, She had already been dead for some time and they had a sense about it because of the reeking stench in the car. LE mean? No.
This is just my opinion only.

And I will say with all that being said, they lost Casey at that point. I don't think they should use that tactic in that situation. It was a bad decision on their part and that makes me question their ability to find the truth. These are some of the reasons I believe she is NG.

Since you believe she is not guilty, then aren't you saying that they did a good job of getting the truth out. You have mentioned that you believe the nanny story. So which is it? They are bad at finding the truth or good at finding the truth?

Yes I agree that they have a right to ask her questions. And yes they have a right to accuse her of all kinds of lies even though they didn't know at that point and still don't what the truth is. Yes, they have every right to do these things. I never said waterboarding, however I don't believe this type of interrogation works. Now , with that being said and that they have the right to interrogate in this fashion, they will have to and have suffered the consequences of their actions. IE lost any chance of talking to Casey, a couple of weeks later, lost any chance of talking to her family. Those are huge losses. I consider this a very bad tactic, and not effective at all.

KC will never tell the truth. It doesn't really matter how LE spoke to her. It must of been so frustrating going on this big goose chase with her and find out everything she told them was a lie so far! Can you imagine! From the nanny to the job, it was ridiculous. IMO, there was no other way to talk to her and usually when they get nasty with you, the person will fess up... They weren't even as half as mean as they usually get with suspects. KC goes from lies to lies. Do you really think she would of fessed up, showed them where the body was, with duct tape wrapped around her whole face??? I doubt it! Nobody will know the exact truth of what happened when she killed Caylee! It is between KC, Caylee, and God. When it all comes down to the truth, it is so far 100% proven in my eyes, that KC is responsible for Caylee's death. If it was premeditated or a act of rage, whatever the circumstances are, KC was involved. It all starts with the lies, the car, etc. I am sure LE have a whole lot more evidence to release, but they didn't have to prove to me that KC did this, KC proved to me that she did this on her own, starting from the beginning when she called her house and was more concerned about calling her BF, instead of worrying about Caylee, then they car, then the partying, then the internet searches, the then coffin flies in the car, etc. The list can go on and on and on!!!!

I guess that's why they are cops and you are not. I don't much like the way cops go about their thing either but there are these pesky things called laws and as long as they don't break 'em they are free to question people any way they choose.. using any tactic they choose.

I have gone into this before (and made several people a tad frushtrated for voicing these opinions) and will only touch on it very quickly again so you know where my mind-set is coming from. I began getting arrested at age 15, I am a convicted felon several times over (to be honest I don't even know how many times over- sad), lost my right to vote before I was even old enough to vote. I do not trust LE just because they are LE, as a matter of fact I trust 'em less because they are LE. I used to think it was because I was one of their victims but have grown up enough to realize it's because they know what they are doing and often get people to talk because of their tactics.

The LE in this case simply did what has been proven effective.. we are not required to like it and can cry victim all we want, it doesn't make it so. They don't have to prove anything to us- that's what a trial is for.

At that point LE decided to interrogate her with 3 big mean guys against one young woman. At that point, they should have read her the Miranda rights. I do believe they were trying to trick a confession out of her. It didn't work and in the end they started asking questions again. Just the fact that they started asking questions again, showed me that they had no idea of what happened. When LE acts like this in a very unprofessional manner it raises red flags for me. So I will admit that I was suspicious of LE and SA from the beginning. Since then, they have not been able to come up with some strong evidence that she did it. It just leads me to believe they have been wrong all along. On this basis I believe she is NG.

Wha? Wha? What? - HUH? - FIRSTLY my dear..KC admitted on tape that she was leading LE to her place of work and to her office, no where and in no way did she state that she wanted to see any video of anything. So just because you BELIEVE it - doesn't mean it is true as it is not even what KC said..weird that you believe something that was not even said by KC seems like YOU WANT to believe it.

SECONDLY - how on earth was KC trying to help? Help who? Help find Caylee? HELP would have been 31 days before when she couldn't find her child. She was lying to LE talking them in circles - wasting their time, keeping them from their own families. Nothing she said or did that day with LE helped anyone other than KC.

THIRDLY - why would they read her MIRANDA rights at that time???? They were merely questionsing a mother and trying to put a timeline together and confirm her story in order to find her child.

I appreciate your perspective, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. As for the interrogation tactics, I've long wondered if Yuri had gone in there with a different approach (I've actually thought about him flirting w her, as unprofessional as that is)...if they'd shown her a little MALE attention...if things would be different.
I don't know how Caylee was killed, if it was intentional or not. Nobody on this planet does. What I do know is that Caylee is dead, she was dumped into the woods like literal garbage, and her mother went on, life as usual.

Well, we know she pilfered thousands of dollars from her family, to include her GRANDPARENTS...so it's only natural that she'd lie about everything, even things that don't matter. When the truth is innocuous, PEOPLE DON'T LIE ABOUT IT! Even a pre-schooler has that figured out!

This whole situation makes me ill. Most of all, it makes me sick that poor little Caylee's life ended far too soon, and that her entire family (in particular the woman who birthed her) has done nothing short of dishonor her by their lies, veiled statements, and cryptic talk.

I would love to know what happened to precious Caylee. However, I don't think we ever will. I will settle for LWOP for her murderer. I think death is too simple.

I, however, have raised 7 grown children, and I know how to tell when someone is yanking my chain. LOL Furthermore, although your avi is a nice touch, it's also a dead giveaway that you want to create an illusion of stupidity. People who truly believe they aren't smart do not announce it to the world; they do the opposite. I am of the opinion that someone who steals has no regard for the property of others. I also feel that someone who constantly lies for their own benefit has no regard for the rights of others to know the truth.

And I feel that killing someone is the ultimate theft - stealing life (whether through negligence or with intent) is about as little disregard as you can have for what is sacred and belongs to another. Lying about it afterward to save your sorry ass just means you don't even care enough about the person you stole from to take the consequences.
