Atlanta-Area Spa Shooter Pleads Guilty in Deal With Prosecutor — The Wall Street Journal
“In a deal with the Cherokee County prosecutor, Mr. Long pleaded guilty to 23 charges relating to the shooting at Youngs Asian Massage in Cherokee County, north of Atlanta. He still faces multiple charges in Fulton County for the murders of four other people at spas in Atlanta.
In the agreement, Mr. Long, 22 years old, agreed to four sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus another 35 years in prison.
In court Tuesday morning, Mr. Long, bound in chains and wearing a white shirt, responded to state Superior Court Judge Ellen McElyea’s questions with “Yes, ma’am.” Mr. Long said his parents had kicked him out of his house shortly before the shooting because he had visited a spa for sex. He said his sexual addiction filled him with shame.
On the day of the shootings, he was staying with a friend who confronted him about viewing

, he said. He left his friend and bought a gun and ammunition for about $460 with the intent to kill himself, he said. He started drinking, and visited the Cherokee County spa for sexual activity, he said. He engaged in sexual activity at the spa, as he had in previous visits, before he started shooting, he said.
Doug Rohan, an attorney representing Elcias Hernandez-Ortiz, the man who was wounded in the Cherokee County spa shooting, said his client was satisfied with the plea agreement because it meant that Mr. Long will never leave prison. Mr. Hernandez-Ortiz still has a bullet lodged inside his body from the attack, Mr. Rohan said.
“They wanted to make sure this was a permanent resolution and there was no risk of Mr. Long ever coming out and relapsing,” Mr. Rohan said of Mr. Hernandez-Ortiz and his wife.”
