GA - 8 dead after shootings at three spas, Atlanta, 16 Mar 2021 *arrest*

Cryptic But you are emphasizing the Pulse shooters religion right now -twice
I never emphasized his religion. Rather, I referred to it very indirectly and in the general sense. I also provided context for the indirect reference.

The Atlanta rampager's religion, however, was emphasized directly and emphasized with out any context.

Here’s another article about survivor Mario Gonzalez and his wife, Delaina Ashley Yaun, who was one of the murdered.

“For the second anniversary of her first date with González, Yaun had an idea. “Mi amor,” he remembered her saying, “You work six days a week and I work six days a week. I feel tired. My back hurts. We need a massage.” González could only take off work when it was raining, so they picked a day when rain was in the forecast. On Tuesday, March 16th, Yaun finished her Waffle House shift at 2 p.m. “Let’s go!” she shouted when she got home, excited for their date, González said.”

Of all days...sooo sad. And that he was kept handcuffed for hours wondering about the fate of his wife. Shaking my head. I don’t know what to think about that. Was he suspected of being the shooter?

Paul Andre Michels...here’s an article about this victim. I don’t recall that this one has been linked, yet.

Paul Michels is one of the eight victims from Tuesday's spa shooting. Whidby says the 54-year-old had been unemployed and finally found purpose as he started doing handiwork at Young's Asian Massage Parlor to make ends meet.

He was really looking for something and when he started doing this, he was getting happy again," she recalled. "He's happy when he's working."“

So tragic that just as he was feeling more positive, his life was taken from him!

8th one is:
Soon Chung Park, 74.
She worked at Gold Spa as a “day manager and cook” (according to the Daily Beast).

Yes, that is what I think.
The hours of operation were 24/7.

Hyun Jung Grant of Duluth had two sons, when she first started working they did not see her for a YEAR. I think the oldest son was in third grade when they moved from Washington to Georgia.

An entire year when your mother only works 30 minutes down the street!

The oldest states they have no other family in the US. (Is the father in Korea perhaps?)

So who watches, feeds, takes their children to school, sports, doctor, etc?

They went WEEKS without seeing their mother while the boys stayed in an apartment alone.

The sons couldn’t take their mother to and from work (since they have a vehicle)?

Is this forced labor?

JMO
So the father abandoned the family and they move from Washington to Georgia.

Who the heck enrolls them in school, helps a first grader get on the bus, checks their homework, provides groceries, is there when they are sick - the oldest son said no family here.

Do strangers or neighbors raise the children while the mother is living in a back room of a massage spa - sleeping on the floor or perhaps a massage table with the bare essentials?

The oldest son stated he does not remember ever meeting his father and did not know his mother had married again which caused the legal issues regarding claiming their mothers body. Thank goodness they got it resolved.

What a horrible life for these women and their children.
:(

I do think it sounded like a rough life. But I think her son would like the public to look at his mom and him kindly, as he said this:

Her job was a sensitive subject, Park said, noting the stigma often associated with massage businesses. She told her sons that they should tell others she worked doing makeup with her friends.

Ultimately, Park said, he didn’t care what she did for work.

“She loved me and my brother enough to work for us, to dedicate her whole life,” he said. “That’s enough.””

Her son sounds like strong, resilient young man (only 22 years of age) who is standing up for his mom and is stepping up to be a responsible person, taking care of matters that must be done, and will ensure his younger brother will be ok, too. That’s pretty amazing for such a young man, especially as this tragedy and trauma was so suddenly thrust upon him.

I agree. He had many responsibilities at a young age, their mother sacrificed so much to provide for them, loved them very much.
Prayers for all of the victims families and friends.

“ATLANTA — Prosecutors in Fulton County are seeking the death penalty against Robert Aaron Long, the suspect in a string of deadly shootings at three Atlanta-area Asian spas in March.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis made the announcement at news conference on Tuesday. She also said she would seek hate crime charges in the case,”

“In Cherokee County, prosecutors announced Monday a grand jury has also indicted Long on murder and aggravated assault charges.”

**

“It's unclear at this time if Cherokee officials will seek the death penalty as well.”

At least four of the murders have been charged as hate crimes, which is what I suspected. They met the definition of Georgia's new hate crimes law. The others haven't been determined yet, but I suspect that two of the other victims deaths will as well. Today, I'm encountering racists who are claiming that all shootings are hate crimes... In my opinion, the charges are appropriate. I still think that the sheriff should have shut his mouth instead of ascribing motive such as "he was just having a bad day". Criminals lie, and he wasn't his defense attorney.

Of course they suspected him of being the shooter. This PD has already shown their racism in siding with the suspect and ascribing him the motive of just being a sex addict having a bad day...

Atlanta-Area Spa Shooter Pleads Guilty in Deal With Prosecutor — The Wall Street Journal

“In a deal with the Cherokee County prosecutor, Mr. Long pleaded guilty to 23 charges relating to the shooting at Youngs Asian Massage in Cherokee County, north of Atlanta. He still faces multiple charges in Fulton County for the murders of four other people at spas in Atlanta.

In the agreement, Mr. Long, 22 years old, agreed to four sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus another 35 years in prison.

In court Tuesday morning, Mr. Long, bound in chains and wearing a white shirt, responded to state Superior Court Judge Ellen McElyea’s questions with “Yes, ma’am.” Mr. Long said his parents had kicked him out of his house shortly before the shooting because he had visited a spa for sex. He said his sexual addiction filled him with shame.

On the day of the shootings, he was staying with a friend who confronted him about viewing 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, he said. He left his friend and bought a gun and ammunition for about $460 with the intent to kill himself, he said. He started drinking, and visited the Cherokee County spa for sexual activity, he said. He engaged in sexual activity at the spa, as he had in previous visits, before he started shooting, he said.

Doug Rohan, an attorney representing Elcias Hernandez-Ortiz, the man who was wounded in the Cherokee County spa shooting, said his client was satisfied with the plea agreement because it meant that Mr. Long will never leave prison. Mr. Hernandez-Ortiz still has a bullet lodged inside his body from the attack, Mr. Rohan said.

“They wanted to make sure this was a permanent resolution and there was no risk of Mr. Long ever coming out and relapsing,” Mr. Rohan said of Mr. Hernandez-Ortiz and his wife.”

Such a low emotional IQ. He gets angry because he's addicted to 🤬🤬🤬🤬. Instead of seeking counseling, he decides to get drunk, buy an expensive gun and retaliate against innocent people. Because he's a racist xenophobe, he can't recognize the problem is with himself, not others.

He probably still sees himself as an innocent victim.

Atlanta-area spa shooter pleads guilty to four murders; hate crimes not pursued | Toronto Sun
''ATLANTA — A Georgia man who claimed to be addicted to sex pleaded guilty on Tuesday to murdering four people as part of a shooting spree at Atlanta-area spas that highlighted the fear and intimidation felt by Asian Americans in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.

Robert Aaron Long, 22, is now expected to be transferred to Atlanta where he faces four additional counts of murder and where the district attorney has indicated she will pursue hate crimes and the death penalty.''

''But Cherokee District Attorney Shannon Wallace said her office’s investigation did not turn up any bias based on race or gender in the fatal shootings of Delaina Ashley Yaun, 33; Paul Andre Michels, 54; Xiaojie Yan, 49; and Daoyou Feng, 44.''

Man who pled guilty in 4 spa deaths was in court for other 4

During the hearing Monday, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville went through some preliminary steps and established that Long’s lawyers are qualified to handle a death penalty case. Then he said the hearing would continue Sept. 28, when the reading of the indictment and entry of a plea is expected.
