I can completely understand a 14-15 year old boy telling lies. Even good kids will tell lies. IMO it takes some maturity and experience to realize one will get caught for lying. I am not excusing his lying, just saying it is common for that age.

Defense really got on Lang. The 15 yo just admitted to 11 lies to police during the investigation. Court is in recess until 1:30 pm. @wjxt4

They are definitely going to need more evidence than his testimony, jury won't know when to believe and when not to, imo.
I understand they do have more, I am looking forward to the other witnesses and evidence. :seeya:

Even if DL is lying, how did DE's mother and sister get the gun, and why did they dispose of it? Why did the aunt lie (on tv) about him eating breakfast at her house? I feel sorry for the jury.

I think everything will eventually fall into place once all witnesses have been questioned.

I worry about what the father will say since he is a "defense" witness. I am guessing he might say SW didn't want the baby. I hope my hunch is wrong!

Santiago's father may just testify about about the insurance policy. He may say that it was the mother's idea to get it in the first place. Whatever he may say, I can't imagine it will mitigate, in any way, the horrific facts of this case. I'm sure the defense is grasping at straws. I mean, how can you defend someone who shot a helpless baby in their stroller? Self defense?

AJC updated this article at 12:26pm today.

The Brunswick teen accused of shooting a 13-month-old between the eyes started counting down from 5 before firing the fatal bullet, his alleged accomplice testified Thursday morning.
De’Marquise Elkins, 17 at the time, pointed his .22-caliber handgun at the toddler, Antonio Santiago, after shooting his mother, Sherry West, testified 15-year-old Dominique Lang.
“The baby was in the stroller screaming,”

I wonder if Lang's testimony in this case can be used against him when his trial comes up- such as admitting that he's a liar. Obviously, you can't believe either on of these defendants. Hopefully, it that will work against them both.

I think the defense will use the father to try and make the mother look bad by asking him what kinds of drugs she takes (legal or otherwise) and by attacking her mental problems. After all, she is the only other witness who actually saw DE kill her baby. They have to make it look like she's crazy and would do this herself and then blame some "innocent" kids.
Which I think is reprehensible and hope the jury thinks so too.
