Another case where the person was reported missing but there was no public record of him being missing. One thing I can't seem to find is confirmation as to his age. Maybe there was a report with LE but it was expunged after turning 18? I have seen a few of those in recently solved cases.

Why somebody will do it to him especially if they didn’t know him personally? It is such a weird and perplex thing, I feel the perpetrator was a sick and mad person. From the articles, I don’t understand where it happened, on the vacant lot or when David was walking the street?

At the time, Brown’s family had reported him missing, but when they viewed the body, they couldn’t recognize him due to the extent of his injuries. Thus, the case remained unsolved, and Brown became known as "Fulton County John Doe."

Welcome home Mr. Brown. Sincere condolences to his family. Why do I have the feeling that this could have been solved many years ago.....

Wonderful work by the DNA Doe project! Many thanks to the team.

This is why ruleouts shouldn't be made on visuals alone. If they'd just used dentals, fingerprints or DNA at the time then this could have been solved way back then. RIP David, I'm glad your family has closure. I just wish it had come sooner, and that you could have justice as well.

I wonder if his ID brings any new evidence for the perpetrator. David said he didn't know who had attacked him but maybe he didn't see their face or didn't want to be a 'snitch'. Hope LE is asking around to see if there was anyone who had issues with David.

Brown was so severely burnt, that the fingerprints were not available :(

I also think that he probably did not see the perpetrator’s face, as I read in some sources that he was attacked from the back.

Just saw this case on Netflix. Horrifying... the thought of what he went through makes me cringe. And there's a good chance it was buried because of the Olympics coming up... 🤬 I wanted to slap that mayor who insisted that everyone was safe for the next couple weeks (so why not take the same measures the rest of the year?)... That statement definitely didn't age well, huh?

On the plus side, it looks like they have a lead to work with... Sounds like one of the hookers might've done it? The story one of them gave was ludicrous... He was suicidal, so rather than let him shoot himself in the head or take pills (or, better yet, try and get him some help), the other one doused him with kerosene and set him on fire... Uh huh, a mercy burning.
