I taught my kids to scream bloody murder and kick, hit, bite, whatever it took. Once when I was in the supermarket veggie section, really big pregnant, I had to walk single file out of the aisle, as the displays cases were so close together. My brother's GF at the time saw us and came up behind my daughter, who was following me. The GF thought it would be cute to sneak up behind Aisha, cover her eyes, and do the whole "guess who" thing. Well, it backfired. Aisha scream louder than I had ever heard. It took me a full second to turn around because the aisle was so narrow, but when I did I saw the GF standing there crying and apologizing. I immediately swoop up my daughter and told her she did right and I was so proud of her. She must have been about 3 or 4 at the time. I also gently reminded the GF that it's never a good idea to sneak up on a child like that. I bet she has never done it again! It scared her to see that reaction from Aisha!

How horrifying! Brave lil girl!!!! Moms around the world WHY do you still leave your kids unattended "just for a second" ?

Best of all: this 🤬🤬🤬 was just released from prison from a MANSLAUGHTER charge!!!!!! :banghead:

Back when I was about 5yrs old, my brother was a baby and it was safe to be outside in Brooklyn NY,, so my mom thought. Shopping took place on the streets, (like it still does in many cities). I remember my mom ran into a store, streetside for a second. In that instant, a little boy about 3, came up to my brother and bit him in the face. He caused much damage to my brother.

It is not safe to turn your back on a child, even back then. My mother (RIP) meant no harm and was young never thinking this would happen.

Great story! Thanks for sharing it. Aisha is a smart little girl. Good for her. Thank goodness it was just a false alarm, but had it been real, Aisha was taking care of business.

Thank God she got away. He had previously been arrested for furnishing a minor with alcohol. Doubtful this was his go 'round.

OT just a bit - the story mentions the little girl has strep throat - being a germophobe, that small fact stood out....why would you let your child with a highly contagious disease go to a toy isle where little kids play with and put toys in their mouths all the time? I know it's a minor point, but that sort of thing makes me crazy.

Other than my OCD moment, I am thrilled Brittany was such a smart and brave little girl. Thank goodness for Walmart's cameras - they've been instrumental in many cases of abducted children.

It's like leaving your purse in the grocery buggy (only kids are more valuable obviously) You turn away for just a moment to compare a price or select an item then turn back to find your wallet is gone. Things can happen so fast. I am so proud of this little girl!
