Interview with Blaise's Mum early this morning.

Reporter

Can you tell us what took place? Take us through the moment.

Mum
I got back in front of my house right here, we parked right here. Maybe around like 1.06, 1.10. I went in the house first went upstairs, Blaise's dad had grabbed our nephew out the car and just a couple of bags that we had. He just was making a quick trip, you know to the house, because it's right there. So the car....we were able to still see the car. Maybe 30 seconds he was in there. He came, you know, tried to come back to get Blaise and then Blaise wasn't out here. The car wasn't either.

Reporter
The car....you said you guys could still see the car, so much so that you could even see the person walking by, the teenager as you're describing him, who you believe stole the vehicle. Tell us more about him?

Mum
Yeah, so Blaise's dad seen the boy walking right here in front of like the bus stop, or something right there, and you know he didn't think nothing of it. It's just a lot of kids walking around here. Sometimes they walk late and stuff like that, so he didn't think nothing of it, but you know, he just kinda put 2 and 2 together and knew like at the moment he seen that boy and now the car's gone so, you know.

Reporter
And you describe him right about 16 years old?

Mum
Probably yeah, 15...16 years old. He had on like black pants, a black jacket with yellow and green squares and black shoes.

Reporter
What was Blaise wearing?

Mum
Blaise was wearing blue socks and he was wearing a, like a, like a shirt that's like cut out like this, like a tank. And it's like green, some blue in there, some grey and it has like designs on it, like animals or something.

Reporter
This is obviously such a difficult time for you and your entire family. Take us through the moments after finding out exactly what happened. You called your family, called 911 and tell us how you feel?

Mum
Yeah, I called 911, called my family and we all did like a search. Well I...me and Blaise's dad stayed here and just kept walking up and down this street. The rest of my family they went everywhere around to look for him, and stuff like that.

Reporter
And there's a very important message that you and your family have for whoever stole your vehicle...what is that? Are you guys gonna press charges, or what do you all want to say to that person?

Mum
No we don't want to press charges. We just want you to bring our baby back, that's all....(mum struggles with her emotions at this point). If you have him still in the car just keep him warm, you know...bring him back. We don't wanna press charges, anything like....I just want him back in my arms, that's all.

Reporter
Last question, again thanks so much for talking to us. A lot of times those folks get those alerts, those amber alerts and they just ignore them. So folks in this community right now who have that amber alert on their phone, with all the information that they need to help find Blaise, what would you say to them?

Mum
Please don't ignore it. Please stay woke, stay alive today. Just please look out, if you see anything, please just contact us, somebody or something.

Reporter
And describe your vehicle one last time.

Mum
It's a 2002, Ford Explorer and it's silver, grey.

it sounds like mom didn’t see the teenager but dad did. Did she get the clothing description from the dad?

That's my guess.

Stolen SUV found; Clarkston boy at center of Amber Alert still missing

.........Shortly before noon, a tipster followed a hunch and located what he believed to be the stolen SUV. Blaise was not inside, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The Explorer with paper tags was obscured by bushes at a vacant apartment complex along Memorial College Avenue, according to the news station. Footage from NewsChopper2 showed it being towed from the scene by a wrecker.

James Dent told Channel 2 he first spotted a man walking in the area, which drew his attention to the stolen vehicle. Dent said he tried to approach the man, but he ran off shouting.

That man was being questioned by police Wednesday afternoon, according to the news station. It was not clear if he was connected to the kidnapping. Clarkston police were expected to provide more details at a 2 p.m. news briefing outside the police department........

A witness who found the SUV told Channel 2′s Tom Regan that he spotted a man next to the SUV and tried to talk with him.

“And I see the gentleman walking from the car, the area of the car, get out the car and that’s what made me notice the car sitting behind the brush right here and I got out to see if that was the car and I saw the dealership tag on the car and I noticed that that was the car and when I went to approach him, an Ethiopian guy, and he ran off and he told me, ‘Get the ‘f’ away,’ and he ran up the hill, back of this plaza up here,” witness James Dent said.

Regan said officers are interviewing the man, but it’s unclear if he is connected to the kidnapping.

I'm pretty local but only just saw this online. Some things just immediately seem weird to me. I have 9 kids and would never leave a baby alone in the car. The first thing I do is take the baby out. The kids all get out and in the house first. Groceries are last. Why take the kids in one kid at time when there are 2 adults?

Why take a kid grocery shopping who isn't even dressed? Did he stay in the car the whole time? Why shop in the middle of the night? If one of us just felt like shopping in the middle of the night only 1 of us would go so the kids would stay home and sleep. Because small children really should be in bed sleeping at that time of night.

It can't possibly be easier for 2 adults to go grocery shopping together when taking 2 small children with them. No way. We basically always have one of us watching the little ones to grocery shop. I understand if you are single a mom you simply have no choice. But this was 2 adults.

This situation is just weird. There have got to be cameras somewhere around that apartment complex and wherever they went shopping at. I hope and assume the police are investigating that. If it was one parent shopping at a reasonable hour it would seem very different. But then you would let the 3 yo walk in the house while you carried the 1 yo.

This reminds me of the Lonzie Barton case, the late night trip was to the laundry mat instead of grocery shopping. Car reported stolen car stolen with the child inside. Also with Lonzie he had a sister that supposedly had gotten out of car and that why she wasn’t stolen with the car. I’m the case of little Lonzie, the entire story was made up by boyfriend of mother who had murdered and dumped him earlier in the night.
The disappearance and death of Jacksonville toddler Lonzie Barton

"Lonzie's mother, Lonna Lauramore Barton, a drug-addicted stripper, is in the Gadsden Correctional Facility near Tallahassee with a 12-year sentence: five for her role in her son's death and seven years on a drug charge from Baker County. "

5 years over her dead son and 7 years on a drug charge? Wow...

Bingo! Now where is Blaise?

Not feeling it.

There's a lot that could change my mind, not mentioned in the article, but I'm feeling it's just some random who saw an unlocked abandoned car.

“And I see the gentleman walking from the car, the area of the car, get out the car and that’s what made me notice the car sitting behind the brush right here and I got out to see if that was the car and I saw the dealership tag on the car and I noticed that that was the car and when I went to approach him, an Ethiopian guy, and he ran off and he told me, ‘Get the ‘f’ away,’ and he ran up the hill, back of this plaza up here,” witness James Dent said."

Well. Which is it. Walking from the car, by the car, getting out of the car?

Seriously, wouldn't be uncommon for a pedestrian to open the car and look in. Either to see if he could help or lookin' for stuff to grab.

Judging from the reaction, probably the second.

So, about two miles away, give or take a quarter.

In between those two, you'd think the kid would have been found by now.

If he took the kid and the SUV and didn't ditch him in-between those two places... the apartments and where it was found... why drive the SUV back so close to where you took it?

None of this makes sense.

The discrepancy bothers the hell out of me.

+1 :(

Looks like it's getting down to 50s at night, so a tank top would mean one chilled kiddo.

It is chilly at night now. Wearing only a tank top inside the house would be skimpy and cool unless the heat is really cranked up, let alone wearing only a tank and diapers to grocery shop.

Is this man she's referencing Blaise's actual father? Having real doubts.

So many questions…

1. where did the parents go shopping and is Blaise on camera with them?
2. it seems an odd thing for him to only be wearing a tank top shirt and socks when not at home when it’s 50 degrees out at night
3. Was the car key, kids car seats or blanket found in the car?
4. When is Blaise’s birthday? I hate when they only say 1 year old. 12 months vs. 23 months is an enormous difference in development. He appears to be walking in one of the pics, I’d guess he’s well over 12 months. If he’s closer to two, can he unlatch and get out of his car seat on his own?

I don't know of any grocery stores that are open past midnight. Even Kroger and Walmart close at 11.00pm in the Atlanta area AFAIK.

Reading the interview with mom a couple of posts above.... she said her husband got a couple of 'bags' out of the car. Does anyone know if either said those were 'grocery' bags? Maybe they weren't? Maybe a diaper bag, etc?

So many red flags here…grocery shopping at 1am (there are no nearby stores open at that hour, according to Google) with a one-year-old baby? Leaving the baby in the car unattended, with the keys still in the vehicle? The car turning up nearby, with no baby? Heartbreaking. :(
And wearing no pants?!?

On one interview she went to say groc... then changed it to bags. I think that's where the MSM quotes are coming from.

So, playing devil's advocate here..

Say they were hanging out at someone else's house, maybe sibling's (hence having the nephew), partying or whatever. They left to come home, bringing the nephew (maybe they were going to babysit, maybe they were at a parent's house and extended family cares for this nephew???), and stopped at a convenience store for some items. Maybe one of them stayed in car with kids. Maybe the 1 yo had an accident or spilled on his pants so he was just in diaper and shirt. Then they got back home and things happened as they described. Maybe.

Also my mom keeps car key on separate lanyard from all her keys. Don't know why. And we keep our 2nd car key on it's own keychain separate. In our case it's because the hubs works from home and we mostly use our other car. So instead of having the 2 big clunky new fangled key fob things smashed up with all our house and mailbox (our parent's house, daughters' house, vacay house) keys and those little shoppers tags...we keep the secondary car key separate (plus we once had 2 for the car and one no longer works so we share the 1 key).

But all the things put together, yeah, something seems rotten in Denmark.

I can’t figure out who he was with when the car was taken.

“They”

JMO

I don't know who the "they" is either.

I don't know whether this sweetie is still alive, but in any case, I have zero confidence that the way this story is being reported is true.
