GA - Caliyah McNabb, 15 days, Newton County, 7 Oct 2017 *Arrests*

My daughter is recovering from one with a 2 week old, she is still at home with us so I’m able to help. The drugs given to her for pain were not strong enough to knock her out, they’re very careful that you are not a zombie with a newborn. However, my daughter is exhausted, I’m sure we all remember it well so if my g/daughter was bottled fed I could take her out the house for a few hours and my daughter would probably sleep the whole time. She’s breast feeding so the sleep deprivation is tough but she’s doing great [emoji1303]

Thank you ♥️ it makes it even harder to imagine somebody hurting a sweet little baby. I actually can’t imagine. My heart breaks for everyone grieving her.

I'm not comfortable with 911 call either mom way too calm, if that were my child missing I'd be 100% hysterical I'm not accusing just sharing a gut feeling that's all.

The whole communication from the mother's side sounded like she was covering her own back side because she knew something...... I guess we will find out at trial what type of person she is and her personality. I just can't figure out how someone could be so calm under those circumstances in that moment.... I detected no feelings from her.

IMO that's crucial evidence. If the crime scene is in the trailer then you wonder how CMc murdered Caliyah so quietly. If it was outside the trailer then it points to premeditation.

That's all I'll say for now since he's the only one charged. Poor baby Caliyah :tears:

My 1st grandson was born on the 26th of September, just 3 days after Cailyah and at least in my situation, he has such a tiny little cry you can barely hear it when he's in the same room. This surprised me because my son had a huge set of lungs from the moment he cried in the delivery room.. So I suppose it's possible she has a tiny cry too....

This is the first case I've followed on Websleuths that has literally given me nightmares. I keep seeing this precious baby in my dreams. :crying:

At first she says (paraphrasing) that she sat down on the couch for a minute after dealing with the baby all night and fell asleep. When the dispatcher later asked where the dad was, she says asleep on the couch with her, and the two year old woke them up together. That doesn't sit well with me for some reason. MOO JMO - At the time of the 911 call, I'm think mom may have been in fear for her life and the life of the two year old.

Yes, I think you’re quite right that she may have been in fear of her life. Unless we learn otherwise, I think it is a fair assumption to make that the Mom is a victim of domestic violence as her Dad indicated in his interview.

I never thought of it that way. Thanks Razzle. Honestly, that makes for a good point. Mom hasn't been charged, yet sounded odd on the phone so it makes sense. If that is the case, Caliyah has made the ultimate sacrifice but I hope Mom and Sister can live a postive life away from that monster.

Is the aggravated assault charge for baby Caliyah or the Mom? I could see both, so just curious if anyone knows.

Not such a big man now. I hope he rots in jail for this. Hiding his face. Like all abusers... cowards at best. Makes me sick.

First Lisa, Congratulations on you little granddaughter..Awesome. I am a first time grandmother with a 2 week old grandson and another grandson due in just a couple of weeks.... So yes, that's exactly what my DIL is going through too right now....

Even when I slept when I became a new mother, I slept with one eye open with my oldest in a bassinet in the room with me, everyone is different. No one helped me either, my husband worked the 3rd shift and wasn't home..... I remember that exhaustion... I was like a slug..
