Chris “got control” of the estate first, I believe. Perhaps as the oldest son or the deed on the house. It was in probate. The had an overseer from the court, per Amanda cross. I don’t think there were any shenanigans. Melody and Amanda have drama about it, but it would have been all over the trial if there had been actual malfeasance.

Lol on Amanda claiming she never asked for money, but Gary paid for 2 brand new cars. She was so reflexive about others getting more than she did, and bitter about it, but has 0 self-awareness. Her brothers had to settle for aging jalopies, in one case, a pickup in another, with a pinch-penny dollar maximum. The court was giggling about this fact in Scott’s and Chris’s testimony, because there was progressively bigger outlay down to the baby of the family.

I found Amanda to be mom’s appendage in a very sad way: she doesn’t seem to think for herself. She has no personal point of view except “I didn’t want to get involved”. That’s the same as, “I don’t want to have a view”. Her views that she doesn’t acknowledge are conveyed by twisting language. The prosecutor noted this in his first question on cross. Striking moment.

Oh wow, did not realize it was Scott, I thought I heard it was Chris who filed first. Scott is a strange dude.

I kinda liked Scott. They all make him out to be strange and lazy, though. None of them acknowledge how much work is needed to run a mini farm like that. IMO he worked his butt off, and he was doing them all a favor by taking care of it. Note that he zoomed back home when Melody called and said the horses were out on July 3. She prolly let them out on purpose, but he was very responsive. She was setting him up for the murder.

I wish Scott would follow through on his wish to be a cop, and become a K-9 officer. I would be in a rage on a frequent basis, too, if family members were talking smack about me on a daily basis for no good reason.

IMO Scott’s and Chris’s adult difficulties are the result of a twisted set of self-involved parents, incapable of the kind of parenting required for child development.

IMO Scott and Emily look like Melody the most. Chris and Amanda have similar looks but not sure they favor Gary so much as combo of both parents features.

I am not a fan of Scott or Chris, found them both to be unbelievable as far as the $$$ Dad was giving them and how dependent they were on Gary.

I found Amanda and Emily the most believable. I think the youngest getting the most expensive car is pretty normal though!

As of now, I have reasonable doubt. Mostly because I do not see how she could have pulled this crime off w/o help.

I have been wondering about Motive in this case, i.e., money. I did not recall hearing any mention as to who GF left his assets to? Was it all left to MF or was it equally to the 4 children and MF was cut out completely?

I may have missed it since I took a week off to watch Boone trial. Anyone know?

Melody prolly opened the gates to let the animals run loose, so she could pin the crime on Scott. Or else, she just told him they were loose, so she could summon him home and pin the crime on him.

Gary clearly couldn't have used his phone on July 4, because he hadn't used his CPAP since the early morning of July 3. In other words, we know he didn't live to sleep another night after July 3.

All the insurance was left to Melody. Millions. This kind of financial item gets signed off separate from other estate items. For Gary, they were policies offered through work. They included "accident and dismemberment" type insurance, IIRC with a bumped up payout.
There was evidently no will, since the estate went to probate. But I believe Melody has been living with Amanda. And, for a while, Amanda was paying for everything. It sounded like Melody thinks she's destitute.
But IMO all that insurance would have been released to Melody because she was not arrested for a year or so.

Note: Melody has been wearing expensive clothes to trial and has 2 expensive attorneys.

The judge got emotional and cried today! I haven’t seen a judge cry in reference to the court personnel.

I don’t think the state did enough to assign her guilty. No gun or DNA and not a lot of talk about the financial scenarios so what’s the strategy?

Today the Pathological expert witness said that he can’t pin down the cause of death?? Weird. The unusual things that have popped up everyday have made this case so beyond interesting.

I didn’t know that Rusty said that he still talks to her everyday. I missed that part.

I didn't know anything about this case before trial. And, during the first few days I thought guilt was going to be tough to prove (at least to me). But, the more I heard, the circumstantial evidence began to add-up. The cell phone records/mapping and related testimony sealed it for me.

Yesterday Amanda said that she had to immediately take care of Melody, pay the mortgage, insurance and everything else but she eventually got to a point where she asked Melody to move out. She didn’t say when that was and where she moved to.

I’d like to know where she is living and how she is managing her finances.

I assumed MWF's assets had been frozen for a period of time early on. I've been wondering when she received his insurance money.

This trial has been quite the airing of dirty family laundry!

I definitely feel sad for the family. They are dealing with the death of a loved one and yet at the same time we are hearing about every negative aspect of their family life. I understand why, but it seems like rubbing salt in the wound. I'm sorry that innocent family members are having to deal with this.
