"Testimony heated up in the Tex McIver murder trial on Thursday, when the defense called masseuse Annie Anderson to the stand. McIver is accused of murdering his wife Diane McIver, and the prosecution had been working the theory that Anderson and McIver may have been having an affair.

Defense attorney Don Samuel asked Anderson about her professional relationship with the McIvers before getting right down to what everyone was thinking about.

“Did you ever touch him sexually?” Samuel asked point blank.

“Never,” Anderson replied.

“Never.”

Prosecution witnesses have testified that Annie Anderson, who was a massage therapist for Tex and Diane McIver, was frequently in McIver's company the week after his wife died.

"A massage therapist who spent the night at Atlanta attorney Claud “Tex” McIver’s condominium the night after he fatally shot his wife, and who accompanied him to an interview with Atlanta police, testified Thursday that she never had a sexual or romantic relationship with him.

Defense attorneys called Annie Anderson to testify in McIver’s ongoing murder trial to counter references to her continued presence in the former Fisher & Phillips partner’s company in the days following Diane McIver’s death. That included testimony from Rachel Styles, who served as Diane McIver’s part-time personal assistant, who said Anderson slept on a pallet on the floor of Tex McIver’s bedroom the night after his wife’s death.

It also included testimony from Jay Grover, a Corey executive, who testified Anderson was at the McIver’s ranch the following weekend in southeast of Atlanta wearing a pair of boots he and his fiancee gave Diane...."

I'm about 1 hour into Annie....I'm not buying this.

First I question her "business" that has no advertising and then every other action of hers just makes no sense. If she runs her own business and has a husband and 2 step kids, why is she spending the night at Tex's condo the night after Diane died, going to Tex's police interview and driving Tex to the Ranch that following week. Doesn't she have work and family matters to attend to? This is how you would react if an immediate family member passed away.

And Diane also gave her a $5K loan to pursue her personal dreams or fix a pool to sell her home?

And Austin slept in the bed with Tex the week following Diane's death? As a parent you don't let your kid sleep in a bed with anyone that is not a parent or grandparent! Especially not someone who everyone thinks is on suicide watch!!! with his masseuses or other random people sleeping on his floor.

And when Annie refers to Austin's brother, she calls him that, "Austin's brother", and incorrectly said it was his younger brother, but he's the older brother (only by about 2 years). Austin's brother's name is Craig, Jr.. Poor Craig Jr. He has a name. Why all this insane attention on the one kid, Austin. This whole story is just so bizarre to me.

IMO I just don't think Annie is telling the truth. Her actions make absolutely no sense at all. And she was being helped financially by DM.

On the line for her is potentially her reputation and business.

I tend to agree with you- something still doesn't smell right, IMO. And when she got off of the stand and sat right down next to Tex's sister Dixie, she kissed her.....Hmmmm
I think that the Mcivers giving her so much business for a lot of money kept Annie afloat much of the time.

And isn't it strange that it seems that Diane had no friends that didn't involve some kind of money thingy? Or maybe we just haven't heard from those friends? But she did leave some expensive jewelry for some women- whoever they are...

This trial...such a conundrum...:sigh:

You know what...I still think he should be guilty of the manslaughter and reckless thingy charge, at the very least- if they can change the charges somehow :sheesh:

This is the reason I think that Tex killed Diane- not planned at the time, but at an importuned time- makes logical sense to me after hearing what this trial has presented so far. Tex was fed-up with how his life was with Diane and how awful she treated him, with her making fun of him and the loans, instead of just sharing their money equally- how most married people do. I'm surprise Diane didn't have one of those pre-nups in place before they got married.

I don't know- maybe I don't understand how people who have lots of money live...:thinking:
