Coley I agree. He was either intended target or retaliation. IMO

The chef said in his 3pm new conference today he has been talking with the US Marshals, wonder if they are there to protect the Heinze Jr.

At first I thought it could very well be GH, after I heard the 911 call I wasn't so sure. Two things struck out at me, he didn't know how many victims there were, he indicated 6, and he thought they were beaten, by all indications it appears they were shot. Plus he sounded tremedously distraught, I don't think that was an act, I agreee with another poster he sounded genuine. Of course he could be the key or as some believe the intended target.

The plot thickens but as it does I am more and more confused.

Toler died from brain injuries resulting from gunshot wounds, according to a spokesperson for Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. His body has been sent to the Georgia Crime Laboratory in Savannah for an autopsy. There was no public report of what type of firearm was used.

A ninth victim of the shooting, reportedly a juvenile, remained in critical condition Sunday night in Savannah.

Thanks for the particulars OB.

I also wondered about the police, in fact, I looked up on wikipedia to see how small this community is. Would the police department in a town this size have the capabilities to investigate a crime of this magnitude. I live in a small community and when there is a murder here, which is rare, the Texas Rangers are brought in to investigate, they are equipped for this as in crime scene photos, finger analysis, investigating techniques etc. The knowledge that is coming out about this crime is lacking or this department is keeping it close to the vest. Hope they don't mess it up!!

Didnt the police chief say they have about 114 officers plus other agencies?

imo

What has me baffled is the lack of info. Why would the chief say that the suspect of suspects could be out of the country?!
Here is what my mind is racking about:

1. The chief is acting iffy about Guy Jr. coming home at 8 am.
Me: I have came home a ton at 8 am. No big deal there.

2. Guy Jr. has been "reported" as an addict. He was also arrested with drugs and others have reported that the family was also users.
Me: Could this be a drug deal gone bad? From also being a recovering addict I have been around dealers where when they weren't getting their money they would say to the person I will kill you and your family. Could the tampering with evidence charge be because one of the victims had those drugs on them and he got them out of their pockets.

Personally, if I lived in that area I would be demanding answers because the police are only invoking more fear in the residence.

I must have missed this part, this would make sense. Now someone said the US Marshalls are involved. This is getting big.

I hate quoting myself but I remember hearing the 911 when the neighbor told dispatch that Guy said he didn't give a f*ck about them telling him to not touch anything. Personally, I wouldn't either if I just found that ugly scene. So I believe they are holding him on anything and everything to protect him. It could be retaliation and if they were to release him he could retaliate against the killers (which I believe are more than one).

Here are two good candidates for suspects:

Saturday afternoon, a woman came to the scene in a white car, spoke briefly to some residents and then began screaming.

Belinda West contacted the Times-Union Sunday and identified herself as the woman. West said her son was not inside the mobile home as one of the New Hope residents had said and that he is safe and well.

She came to the park looking for her brother-in-law who lived in the mobile home, but whom she declined to name Sunday.

She was driven to the park by Christ West, who is also her brother in law, she said. “We [are] waiting to hear from them,’’ she said.

Guy said his mother was also murdered so that can't be her son. Then her son and her brother-in-law are not present, but evidently live in the home.

After hearing the 911 call, I honestly don't believe Guy did this. He sounds genuine to me. I don't think they would haul someone in that just lost his entire family because of some pills or pot they found. The tampering and obstruction charge probably came from being told not to enter and he did it anyway. He sounded kinda drunk so maybe he got out of hand at the scene, but I think they may have taken him into protective custody until they find the perp/perps. Someone wants them all dead and two people who live there were not accounted for when this article was written.

I don't think they could arrest him just because he entered the residence and discovered the victims. He lived there and had rights to enter.

It seems to me they would just move him to an undisclosed location instead of locking up a man that just had his family totally wiped out. I think they have suspicions about him. Why out of all the rest was he spared? And being the one to find the body is also usually a red flag.

I think they are holding him on the lesser charges while they do their investigation. It gives them bought time.

If the dog was so ferocious in the 911 call how did it let anyone close to these people that lived in that home and I find it strange that he supposedly lived there yet the dog seemed hostile.

Did they just get done with the conference? I'm not able to find anything regarding it.

Also, I was on the Brunswick news and a poster said he knew everything and the killer(s) and he left his email address so I'm going to contact him and find out the deal. I will post once I hear back. I usually do not do this but I believe us hearing something could help us sleuth.
Oooo...I wouldn't do that! We don't need to know anything bad enough that you should put yourself at risk ever! If the poster indeed does know these killers...do you really want him to have your email address and information?!

I thought about that right as I submitted it so I didn't do it. You know me I always jump the gun on these cases. lol Thanks for watching out for me though.:blowkiss:

Sounds like they are calling in the Marshalls thinking the killer or other participants may have already left the area. Could this have been a targeted hit and they were looking for a drug stash I wonder.

What did the two older men do for a living?

Has the FBI been called in by the PC yet?

One of the older men was an out of work truck driver according to an earlier post. I also read that Rusty Toler took care of all the people living in the house and they were very poor. They couldn't afford A/C so the windows were always open.

I'm not sure about the FBI but the GBI is helping out.

They weren't worried about the dog being hostile to Guy or themselves. They were concerned about LE and the EMTs the way it sounded to me.

Granted, they should look at him since he found the bodies...but something doesn't seem right to arrest him on such minor charges. I guess it is possible he could have been wacked out the night before and went nuts...but if he had any evidence on him then they would have already charged for more than pills and pot, imo. They would have immediately tested for GSR and had their answer, imo. There would be blood all over the place with 9 people shot in such a small space so if he was inside, he probably did have blood on him.

I did notice they do not have AC and with the heat...I bet their house was wide open. Anyone could have gotten in, imo. Also...we have a son and a brother-in-law still unaccounted for when that article was written. She said at least her BIL lived there. Who are they and where are they?

according to the conference the FBI has been called in along with a narcartics team. I also think they are keeping him locked up for his protection. Matt is very good at his job. I have heard thru the rumor mill the reason for taking so long on the identies is because of the trauma they can't just look and tell who they are.
