''After six years in the National Guard (C CO 3-10 INF BN 1 PLT), Murray returned home to Wrens, working various jobs at Ingles and Lamb Brothers Lumber. His family said he didn’t go out much, but he did play basketball at the Jefferson County YMCA. His sister said she saw Freddie at his home at Green Meadows Apartments just a few days before Christmas. And while leaving another apartment across the street, he looked at her and didn’t speak, at first.
“He said sis, you know what, I love you. I was like are you ok? I said because you never in your life come out of your mouth to say I love you,” his sister said. “Yeah, I’m doing good. I’m fine. That was the last time I seen him.”
We asked, “And you never found out what spooked him that day?”
“Something was spooking him, but I don’t know what it was,” Shermeca replied.''
